Duller than a Dull Thing

This is my opinion - others have very different ones!

I read all 3 Girl novels this Spring and I think I deserve a medal for it.

It is obvious that the death of the author has been allowed to interfere with the editing of all 3 novels - all are too long, overly descriptive of mundane matters, too long, childishly written, too long, predictable and, did I mention it? Too Long. Underneath all the hype are 2 ok thrillers and this dreadful finale which bores beyond belief and was a toil to read. What was needed was a very good editor to get involved and to cut out at least half of each novel to at least inject a little pace and structure and to take out the ridiculous and irritating. The books' hero (the man Mr Larsson would have wanted to be?) is a dreadful bore and extremely irritating - you just know he is going to end up in bed with every woman who is described as attractive. The female lead is, at first, intriguing but, by this book, completely dull and the poor wretch spends most of her time in a hospital bed.

There is a good book or two screaming to get out of these bore-fests and it is a shame that the opportunity was missed for the sake of honouring a dead man's memory.

A great book adaptation

I am normally disappointed at movie adaptations from books. They are usually too short or too long, and it always feels like something crucial is missing.
This movie changed my mind completely. If you love the book, then it is safe to say you will love this movie.
Salander comes to life in Noomi Rapace as the distant girl who you do not know how to describe, but that contains all those characteristics of human nature that scare you and endear you at the same time.
Michael Nyqvist is fantastic as Blomkvist, the frustrated journalist that is lost in a world of intrigue, and who, only with the help of our strange heroine, can find its way back.
I loved it. I loved the dark nature of the film, the precise way in which the director captured the every mood of the book and the way in which it still surprised me even tough I read the book only a month prior.

Be Warned

This is not the same BIG sound as the previous two albums and as such doesn't sound like the same band. To me this sounds a distinctly average output irrespective of who the band that recorded it are. Yes Im disappointed in the change in direction, yes you always have to listen to the best albums a lot before you gel with them, however I just dont think this is very good.

Not quite what I had hoped for....

Gritty realism with a twist of glamour - that is what has made Robert Muchamore's Cherub series such a huge hit with millions. Sadly, the final installment is a letdown.

Having invested years in watching the lead character, James Adams, grow from an 11-year-old with an attitude problem to a skilled 17-year-old secret agent, I was expecting the last Cherub featuring James to be a standout classic. It isn't.

Instead of being at the centre of an exciting final adventure and mission, James seems to have been sidelined in favour of a more minor character. Much of the action, infact, takes place in the past, while the present-time action seems rushed, and rather forced.

Cherub fans have been waiting patiently for many of the 'big' questions to be answered; such as who is James' dad, and what is in the safety deposit box he found the key for in Book 1. Muchamore does answer these questions, but sadly not in depth.

As a huge Cherub fan I pre-ordered this book months ago from Amazon. Sadly I feel rather let down. Yes, there are snippets of pure Muchamore skill and humour, but it just wasn't the right story to end the career of a much-loved character like James.

If you are looking for a book to keep you entertained for a few hours, then this will suit you down to the ground. If you are looking for a satisfying end to a wonderful series, then Brigands MC - the previous Cherub book - would have been a better bet.

i have 2 boys aged 6/9 of which i brought 2 mavericks and 2 recons,all very good well made, fun toys but the mavericks are brilliant,well balanced and very accurate.although they fire foam bullets ,impact is very real but only painful if shot in the eye(i can verify that firsthand)really should wear eye protection or just avoid head/face shots,i had so much fun playing"nerf war" with my sons that i have ordered one of these for myself.a great toy for all ages

scorsese scores again!

This film is very good. Scorsese shows that not only his gangster movies are good, but also his ability for other genres. The ending was a bit predictable, but still a very good film. I will highly recommend this film.

Bargain price for a great performer

At Amazon's current price, this really is a must-buy. Two years of free updates and a three user license means you won't have to look elsewhere for protection for multiple machines. As for the protection itself, it's an impressive all-round performer that even tops Webroot's anti-spyware abilities, which I thought was fairly unbeatable. As as plus, it's pain-free and speedy to install, unlike many security suites, and compared to the big-priced big names in the market, it's most definitely no resource hog. It runs quietly and unobtrusively in the background, has an excellent pop-up blocker, and I've noticed no impact on general system performance even using it on a rather frail old laptop. Excellent buy, especially at this price.

Don't buy this product it is completely useless

This is by far and away the worst purchase you could ever possibly make, the specifications attached with it are meaningless and it's performance will definitely disappoint you. Having bought it under an hour ago i will be returning it immediately without hesitation. It refused to transfer a 7GB and quoted a 20 minute wait for a 4GB file, with a capacity of 14.8GB i would imagine that most people's main use for this device would be large file transfers and i can guarantee that it's performance in this particular field will be far from satisfactory. Don't make the mistake that i made and read the bad reviews that have previously been written and disregard them thinking that sandisk couldn't possibly sell such an inept USB drive, buy another brands product and hope that sandisk either learn their lesson or learn their lessons for distributing such poor and anti-progressive technology. I expected better.

Good old Lego

I first bought Lego for my son, who is now 38. This lego is for my granddaughter Lola 18 months. It was an instant success. The large blocks are easy to fit and break apart and the bright colours are attractive and easy to find when clearing up. Complete with the storage box (which doubles as a hat for Lola!) it is a first class product.
