'Dave Myers joined the BBC as a make-up artist' and when they couldn't get Keith Floyd to front a new cookery show, used Dave because he could do his own eye shadow. It's like your mate who's rubbish at football being signed by Real Madrid. What a choker.

One positive is that their leaden attempts at humour are as wooden in print as they are on screen.

I bet they couldn't boil an egg...

Perfect eggs every time-brilliant

My family of four all love boiled eggs. Two of us like them soft and runny, my wife likes the yolk to be a bit firmer and youngest daughter prefers them hard boiled. It used to be a bit of a nightmare getting it right especially as I am hopeless at remembering timings for these things and there is no way of testing until you take the top off the egg. My mother in law got one of these first(from Lakeland I think)and I got one shortly after. Incredibly simple to use (idiot proof even) and re useable time after time. If you like boiled eggs, get one of these. It will make your life simpler.

Brilliant little gizmo

I bought this card reader to download games onto an R4 cartridge for the DSi. It did exactly what I wanted and I will also use it to transfer my mobile photos onto my computer.

Mr & Mrs Board Game

Good fun game. The 'disagreements' if your answers don't match can be hilarious. You may discover that you don't know as much about your partner or friends as you think you do. I don't think this game has to be partner based - if you have good friends about, can be played in a similar way. A very good every so often game to play.
Game Recommended... but expect disputes!

Lovely Moisteriser

I have tried many moisterising creams cheap one and expensive ones but this is lovely. I have a very greasy skin and prone to spots but when I started using this, my skin felt lovely. Once you have massaged it into your skin after a couple of minutes, your skin feels so soft. It actually feels a little tighter and creates a film which stops the grease appearing. It is fantastic under makeup and I no longer have problems of shiny skin or spots.
I will certainly buy it again and Amazon offers it so much cheaper than the high street!

Paulo Nutini CD

I saw him on Jools Holland he was brillant. The CD is superb! I love it, his voice is diverse and mature for his age. The tracks are varied and I was pleasantly suprised! He is going to be big! Great Music!

3G improvement over 2G

Received the new 3rd generation touch, as always very speedily from Amazon, and have already noticed the improvements over the 2G version. It appears to do things that much quicker than before and even the web based apps are speedier, so all is looking good so far. I think that the battery lasts longer too, so is worth upgrading, I think.

Out of the box, the 'touch' needs to be synched with the PC once ITunes is installed on it and you have to create an Apple id etc. Because I was swapping my older version with my new one and had been synched up before, I could run a restore and left it to do it's thing. This worked perfectfully for me, so after an hour or so, my touch was setup exactly the way my old one was, (which incidentally found it's way into the bath last year and never fully recovered, hence the replacement)so that was a bit of a bonus.

A word of warning, keep your ipod touch well away from any liquids, as it is not under warranty for any water damage at all, so a dunking in the bath destroys the battery and it cannot be repaired very easily. I tried and failed to do so.

Absolutely fantastic game - fun work out. Challenge dances good fun - just make sure you have bit of room to really groove!

Missed opportunity

Having come to this film without reading the book I was intrigued as to how the time travelling would work. It's a mostly enjoyable film with a genuine heart but it leaves many questions unanswered. I don't want to spoil anything but with an ability (or an affliction in this case) like this there are numerous ways to take advantage of the situation and these were not really explored. I understand that the core is a love story, and this was well acted and sincere. I did enjoy it, it's likely not something I would watch again though.

last book in the series, started reading and could not leave it down, totally jaw dropping, story keeps taking unexpected turns, so sorry this is the last book we will have from steig larsson R.I.P.he was a truely exceptional writer.

great price, but no large cuff and a little inaccurate

When it arrived i regretted not having bought the large cuff to go with this product. The one that comes with this is small going up to only 32cm, so measure your arm and decide if you need a large cuff first... As for the product itself, it is simplicity to use and gives clear quick results. Unfortunately I took it to my blood pressure reading with the nurse today and it seems to be inaccurate it is about 10 out on both readings, it did appear to be accurate at first but appears to have lost its calibration a little.

Best thing ever

When you get one of these - and why not, they are cheaper than a round of drinks at the bar - you will wonder how you ever lived without it.

Seriously, how did you live without the following:

1. Scales that don't take up loads of worktop surface
2. Scales not requiring their own bowl / receptacle
3. Scales where the default behaviour is to adjust for zero
4. Scales that count backwards when you take stuff off them
5. Scales that measure to the nearest 0.1g and display to the nearest 1g.

Think about that for a second. My old scales went up to 5kg, but you could barely measure to the nearest 10g let alone 1g.

Think about it: everything correct to the gram.

Or the fluid ounce, the milliliter, etc.

For example. Whack a tub of butter onto the surface of the scales. Hit the zero button. Now remove a knob. 12g. Another knob. 20g. Perfect. No effort, no fuss, nothing else to wash up, the butter goes straight from its original packet into your cooking in no time at all, measured-out beautifully.

What isn't to love about that?

Beautifully accurate, every time. Doesn't miss a gram.

Far better than expected!

I was lucky enough to play a multiplayer beta of this game today. So I can fill you in on some of the multiplayer aspects of the game. First of all you can choose from a Marine (Human), Predator or an Alien. Marines at the moment seem very underpowered compared to the other two as their only attack is the use of a machine gun. They're easily the worst race to play but a member of staff informed me that in the final version there will be many more guns available for marines to use against aliens and predators. Predator has the ability to go invisible, fire missiles, stealth kill, normal melee and teleport, which makes them reasonably powerful and fun to play. The aliens have few attacks but their pure speed and the ability to run up any surface and turn upside down (motion sickness guaranteed when playing) makes them the most popular and overpowered race in the game. They have the ability to stealth kill and normal melee. Also from what i've seen multiplayer maps seem to be set around historic ruins.

I only played this game because I had the opportunity, normally I would have passed it off and not even given it a a chance but let me tell you. This game is INCREDIBLY fun to play and I was really surprised by it. There will be a singleplayer and also apparently a campaign for each race.

Does not even deserve one star!

I was a Transformers fan since my early teens and there were certain things that made the stories compelling. Examples of this were Optimus Prime with his sense of humanity and self sacrificing nature, Megatron's mercilessness and obsession with power, the moral self questioning by various characters about whether their actions were right and explorations into madness.

This film however goes no where near any of this and even more criminally actually turns Optimus into a heartless killer of defeated foes, Megatron into servile idiot, the Autobots into foul mouthed thugs who kill Deceptions in torturously vicious ways and Deceptions that wouldn't terrify Little Bow Peep. On top of all this the humans seem to just hang around ineffectively firing small arms to get butchered for no useful purpose.

What amazes me is that with all the material available to the film makers from the comics they ended up with a feeble and incoherent storyline. The human characters are hopelessly dull and even extremely annoying and finally the appearance of the transformer Gandalf halfway through the film just typifies the introduction of dreadfully inappropriate ideas at the expense of those from the original stories.

The first film was awful and I was hoping this one would be a recovery, but this was utterly in vain.

Tragically the worst film I have seen to date.

LGG's got a new 50-something fan!!

Having seen - but not heard - Lady Gaga, I had assumed she was all style & no substance. Then I came across Speechless, which left me exactly that... I googled it and was amazed it was by LGG, & even more moved when I read the story behind the lyrics. Some say Speechless is not typically LGG. I would say that her style is so eclectic as to make that statement irrelevant. To me, the common denominators across all the tracks are stunning lyrics and an amazing voice - and by those criteria, Speechless is absolutely typical. Love this album - a quirky, stylish, intelligent mix of upbeat toe-tappers and cries from the heart. Making it my mission to spread the word among fellow oldies!!

IT DOES NOT WORK !

My baby boy is exactly 4 months old. I only now heard of this book so I decided to try it out. My baby already was in a routine, not a super strict one to a minute, but every day was already pretty similar to the previous ones. He likes to sleep, he normally has a bath at 9, then final feed at 9.30, then asleep at 10/10.10. And sleeps until 6.30/7 am when he eats again, and then immediately falls asleep again until 10 am. Then he eats at 10, asleep at 11.30/11.45 for an hour at least, then awake till 1.30, eats, asleep at round 3pm for at least an hour, and then eats at 5/5.30 and asleep whenever he falls asleep, he normally sleeps for 30/45 mins to an hour and last feed at 9.30.

However, Gina says going to bed at 10 is too late, so I thought to try making him going to bed at 7. I also tried feeding him / making him sleep at her exact times and not letting him sleep more than 3 hours in the daytime. My boy got really overtired and cranky, screaming the house down, not falling asleep at all until midnight and refusing to eat at the times the book says.

So, it did not work for him at all.

I am back to the old routine and he is happy again.

There are some good things in the book like it tells you to put the baby to sleep in the sleeping bag so he doesn't get uncovered/cold and thus wakes up in the night because of it - I did it and it really is good as no need to constantly keep on pulling up his blankets as he kicks a lot.
And a few other practical advices so I gave it 2 stars anyway.

However, the book makes you feel bad if you haven't succeeded with her routine and does not acknowledge some babies are maybe slightly different?
Also, it tells you that letting a baby sleep with a dummy is bad - to what I agree - but my son is already addicted to it - but then it does not tell you what to do to correct it. So... not that great after all but maybe it works for your baby so worth a try, especially if you try from the very start (newborn). Btw my newborn was so sleepy until age 2/3 months that I could not follow any routine at the time as he just did not want to eat but would sleep at the routine feeding times and refused to wake up until he decided to even with a cold wet cloth on his face!

I got rid of the night feeds at 8 weeks by giving him a dummy instead of a bottle/breast, and he accepted it which meant he was not that hungry after all but just needed comfort. So, now he only eats evening and morning. I hope this helps to some of you, good luck.
