great little camcorder
This was my first camcorder and I was looking for one that was lightweight and simple to use. This model is perfect for those reasons. The battery lasted at least what it said on the box, though I did buy an additional battery in case. The camcorder is easily held in one hand and the anti-shake helps if you are walking about filming. The large screen is clear and easy to see. It doesn't have the still photo option but we have a good canon camera for that anyway. Super value for money in my opinion and all good so far!

Good value Camcorder but lacks functions if used with a Mac
You can transfer your video to a mac using firewire or i.link (as sony calls it) no problem, but if you want to use this as a webcam or an external camera with you mac your out of luck, it doesn't work, I bought this camera as it was good value and sony always represents great product but in hindsight I wish I'd looked into this camcorder more before I bought it.52

Handy little Cancorder

a premiership camera for championship money
wasnt expecting too much for the price, just wanted something functional to take on my holiday. A Versatile and Well Designed Camcorder
Having used a Sony Hi8 analogue camcorder since 1997 I thought it was time to upgrade to digital. I've had my DCR-SR32 now for about six weeks and as an easy to use, very compact machine I am very pleased with my purchase. The 40X zoom is very impressive and the convenience of being able to switch easily between video and still mode is most useful. I feel that when I am more conversant with the touch screen it will be an efficient way to access the many features available on this camera. A couple of gripes though, firstly : if,like me,you like to start and finish scenes by fading in and out, access to the fade out is very fiddly. Fading in is fine as this is accessed befofe starting to film but fade out (which must be done while the camera is running) takes 3 screen touches to access, during which it is virtually impossible not to shake the camera. Secondly: the supplied software is fine for stills but woefully inadequate for movie footage.In order to edit your films it would be neccessary to use a commercial video editing suite. To summarise, I'm on the whole quite pleased with my new camera add if it lasts me as long as my previous machine and is as reliable , then I will be extremely satisfied with my purchase.59

Fun camcorder to take anywhere with you
Didn't have any expectations about this product but wanted a cheap HD camcorder to use. This is really easy - just take it out of the box and start using it. It's also incredibly light to carry around - great for giving to the kids to use. Yes the batteries run down quickly when recording in HD mode but it does come with 2 which is a great help. Had to use the manual to understand all the functionality but you can just point it and film it. Very easy to download to computer too. Would recommend to anyone as an entry model which isn't too expensive.
