Does what it says, but not how I expected!

I needed a machine to convert my 100+ cassette recordings to MP3. This machine will do it, but if you want to catalogue all your albums/tracks/artists properly, you need to have a lot of time on your hands. You literally have to play each cassette the whole way through and stay with your PC to add the track breaks etc.
You would have thought someone could have come up with a high speed method for doing this that recognises pauses between songs etc.There is a piece of additional software, but no instructions supplied so it's anyone's guess whether it could make the job any easier.
Essentially this is a double cassette deck that just happens to have a USB port so it plays into your computer. It is no more.
You also have to use iTunes as the software for capturing the music, even if you don't want to use iTunes and then have the cumbersome process of locating the songs in the files and moving them so you can play them in windows media player or upload to other MP3 players.

All in all a bit disappointing therefore and with 6 tapes done and nearly 100 to go, if I'm wrong in my assessment of how this works, please tell me quickly!!

doesnt work at all

I have a Renault Megane 2002. my wife wants to listen to her ipod during long commute journeys, hence the purchase of this produce. We have tried, neighbour has tried, work colleagues have tried to make the apperently simple operation work, without success. No FM channel is found.

KMS Direct Customer Relations

I purchased one of these in early May 2007 and promptly received the item. I was disappointed when the vent clip broke when I first tried it out. I wrote this in my feedback but did not feel the quality of the product reflected the quality of service or the company.To the credit of KMS Direct and without asking, they sent a new holder and four replacement airvent clips when they read my feedback. It might not change the quality of the product, it's still poor, but it does reflect the attitude and the morals of the KMS-Direct. I wouldn't have any worries about buying from this company again. Thank you KMS Direct.

Great, but flawed

I purchased this headunit mainly for the USB capabilities, to then find that they are vastly flawed.

For example, you take your USB stick, and upload some albums onto it. One folder for begins with the letter"S" and the other begins with the letter"V". If, two days later you want to upload an album beginning with"S" you'll be forgiven for thinking it is simple. For when you transfer the"S" folder over, this gets placed at the end of the list as the headunit sorts the folder list via time and date as opposed to character!

This means if wish to keep your folder-hierarchy in alphabetical order therefore making it easy to search your MP3s you have to transfer all the files over to your computer that are on the USB stick. Then add the one folder to this list, and re-transfer everything over...a very time consuming task if you are using an 8GB USB flash drive!

You can probably get around it by creating folders labelled A-Z, and then only re-transferring the artists that you are effecting into these folders, but you shouldn't have to!

It is such a shame, as it is a very beautiful unit, CD player works perfectly, radio is crystal clear, the multi-function wheel makes it easy to change radio station/tracks while you keep your eyes on the road, the USB load up time is great, and would in all respects be worth 4.5/5 or 5/5, but for the very obvious design flaw that they've let creep in I've had to knock off 2 stars.

Does exactly what it says on packaging, works out of box. used to my archos excellent sound, recommend.
