Review for BLAUPUNKT - Melbourne SD27 Car Radio with SD slot:
SD Card display allows you to stroll through your albums easily. Picking the one you want to listen to.
Now the bad points.
1) The SD sometimes locks and displays < . Workaround is simple. Click the SD card out and back in again. This maybe something to do with the filename structure on the card, the song names may be too long or contain spaces etc. I am not sure. It doesn't bother me, the advantages of having a SD card driven Car Stereo for £60 make this fine.
2) The Car stereo has a detachable front. My old Sony Stereo supplied a case for this, however Blaupunkt do not. Cost me £5 to buy one (from ebay)
3) No Car Aerial Adaptor Din to ISO Plug. Cost me £3 to buy one (from ebay)
4) No SD card. I thought a Toshiba 2GB Secure Digital (SD) Card from purelygadgets on Amazon £9
I love this stereo and if i can figure out the SD card issue then i would give it 5*

Review for BLAUPUNKT - Melbourne SD27 Car Radio with SD slot:
I love it but it does have a couple of issues.
This SD Card driven car stereo is excellent. No CDs required and even if you wanted to play CDs you couldn't, this stereo has NO CD player. Just a radio and SD slot. I bought a 2Gig SD Card and put about 500 songs on it. So who needs a CD player. I am no Car Stereo sound geek but it is loud, i do not know too much about features, but the radio has FM with RDS, Traffic updates, AF (it retunes itself when signal becomes weak), MW and LW are also available.SD Card display allows you to stroll through your albums easily. Picking the one you want to listen to.

Review for Sony CDX-T69 6 Disc Autochanger:
Sony CDX-T69 6 Disc Autochanger
New Price:
£104.99
Review for Sony CDX-T69 6 Disc Autochanger:
Invisible excellence
The T69 can be easily installed in glove box, boot or (with more difficulty under a seat). In place there is no visible evidence that it is there so it does not attract thieves. Unlike most car radios it has no security system of its own so this invisibility is important.. I find its six CD capacity more than adequate. The T69 uses a spare channel on compatible radios to produce true CD sound quality equal to that inherent in the installed radio. For non-compatible radios the T69 needs an additional gizmo to 'trick' your radio into thinking the T69 is original equipment. The Ford (FOR 01) adapter is about the size of a cigarette packet and adds £40-£80 to the cost.. Despite this the T69 gives, in my opinion, original equipment sound quality, at one-third to one-half of the price, depending where you buy. I paid £139.98 for CDX T69 AND the FOR 01 combined.77

Didn't know there was Version 2. Massive Improvement
I originally paid just under £200 for the original Revo and was bitter disappointed. It had a fiddly, useless antenna which would only fit around the front of the car. This was a problem because my car had a solar reflective windscreen. There were intermittent problems with the modulator too. In the end, I just returned the unit for a refund.I had forgotten all about this until I discovered my friend had one installed in his new car and was just waiting for him to tell me how crap it was! But he didn't say anything and I was surprised how consistently clear it was when we made a 2 hour drive back to uni. I later found out that his Revo was a new version and also half the price (now £99.95) so I thought I'd give it another try.
For those who don't know, the Revo connects to the AUX/Phono sockets on the back of your head unit and you select AUX on your stereo. If you haven't got these inputs, you can use the modulator. It doesn't take away your existing radio. You simply tune into an unused preset frequency on your FM radio for DAB output.
I got the new version for just under £90 quid. It also came with the optional remote control. It had a new antenna which I could stick on the front or rear windscreen because there was 5m of cable. It wasn't obtrusive either but actually very neat and easier to fit than the old one. The modulator looked the same but has V2 printed on it which suggested that some changes had been made. This was clearly evident as there was no hissing which I had previously experienced. Finally, I had a DAB unit that not looked good but performed far better than any head units I had tried as well.
In my opinion, DAB head units like the Goodmans and Sony I recently tried, are poor for DAB. The better performing ones like the Blaupunkt are about £300 quid but are not as good as the Revo for DAB performance. I'm not going to replace my existing Blaupunkt for a while. Other manufacturers are just cramming the units with allsorts resulting in really slow interfaces and reliability issues.
I know that if I find a serious alternative to my car stereo, I can use the Revo at home through my amplifier because the leads from the cradle are phonos - I've already tried it!
