iPod headset

A good bit of kit. I had a Sony set already but was fed up with the Aux lead getting in the way - I have a high mounting in the dashboard. Bought this as it has a dedicated iPod lead and am very happy. The sound and features are as good as you wouldexpect from a Sony product. The iPod management system takes a bit of getting used to, but is easy once you are familiar with the controls. the odd thing is the normal screen in the iPod is replaced and youdon't get the usual visuals. It is easier to push the buttons on the headset than it is to scroll whilst driving - but I imagine that any passengers wanting to search the iPod will be frustrated - well just unplug, select and reconnect...

KMS Direct Customer Relations

I purchased one of these in early May 2007 and promptly received the item. I was disappointed when the vent clip broke when I first tried it out. I wrote this in my feedback but did not feel the quality of the product reflected the quality of service or the company.To the credit of KMS Direct and without asking, they sent a new holder and four replacement airvent clips when they read my feedback. It might not change the quality of the product, it's still poor, but it does reflect the attitude and the morals of the KMS-Direct. I wouldn't have any worries about buying from this company again. Thank you KMS Direct.

good system

have this radio myself, got it a few weeks ago and it works nicely, can't say anymore than mr evil as he has covered all, but i do find that using the disc, when powered off mine remembers where on the track it stopped but using the usb or memory card it, as mr evil says, returns to the start of the track, not that annoying. The info flashes up nicely in blue along the front of the radio, track name, artist, album etc, nearly too much info but makes a pleasant change to looking at a dull display. Easy fitted, good sound, good value for money, if you want a good system that allows you to use usb, sd card reader and disc to player your mp3's wma's then this won't let you down

doesnt do it good enough

Sure it transmits the sound to a fm radio but the quality is so poor you can only hear a muffled unclear sound which crackles a lot. I have tested it on 3 different radios and they all sound rubbish when you try and turn the volume up above a conversation level volume.

Get it if you want a gimmick that works and you dont mind playing the music quietly.

Very good value for money

This stereo is very good for the money, although the user interface could have done with more work spent on it. For example, when playing back MP3s, it is much more useful to skip to the next album instead of skip 10 tracks (although albums can be selected through an awkward menu system). It looks like the company the made it let their software engineers design the interface without enough end-user testing.

Bluetooth connectivity works like a dream, although my nokia N70 had problems auto-connecting until a firmware upgrade (read: my phone had problems, not this stereo).

For anyone put off by the report that it can only handle 1GB memory cards / USB sticks, I can confirm it works perfectly fine with my 2GB SD cards, and suspect it will work up to the original 4GB FAT limit. (Only with standard SD cards, NOT using SD-HC)

Finding a 3.5mm AUX input jack on the front of the unit is a very pleasant addition also - why more manufacturers can't do this is a mystery - who wants to plug their external MP3 player into the back!

There are however some downsides, in my eyes:
1) There is no control output for an external amplifier (there are RCA outputs for a SUB and Amp though)
2) The stereo cannot be switched on with the ignition off (I got used to the feature on my OEM stereo whereby it would switch itself off after 30 minutes if you turned it on without the key in the ignition)
3) The removable face plate does not always make good contact when re-attached, hence the stereo appearing to switch off when going over a bump (I don't remove mine now)
4) No steering wheel stalk control inputs
5) No CD changer input (but fitting 6+ albums on 1 MP3 CD makes this a bit irrelevant)

doesnt work at all

I have a Renault Megane 2002. my wife wants to listen to her ipod during long commute journeys, hence the purchase of this produce. We have tried, neighbour has tried, work colleagues have tried to make the apperently simple operation work, without success. No FM channel is found.

Excellent Gadget! Excellent Price!

Great piece of kit. Saves me replacing my car stereo. Sound quality isn't perfect, but is pretty acceptable. It's just due to the technology used not the transmitter.

Very disappointing

I had a previous device from Logic3 compared to which... the sound on this is shocking and it rattles in the player. Nifty cord stower but am going to have to throw it away. Shame

faultless sony performance

Despite the reviews warning of the problems with the sound when using this in-car kit I trusted Sony and bought it. First time I used it in the car I was horrified when, as warned by some reviewers, there was virually no sound to be heard. However I needn't have worried as reading the fault diagnosis suggested playing the flip side of the 'tape' and hey presto perfect sound. The dial control of the car kit is very easy to use. The file compression software can even be used by a clutz like me and allows for over 100 tracks [dependant on length of track of course] per cd which gives you all the benefit of a cumbersome auto changer without any of the hassle.
Can't fault anti jog or battery consumption.

Great with a Squeezebox

I bought a pair of these to go in the bedroom with a Logitech wireless Squeezebox as the input source and have been impressed with them.

The sound is great for the price, and the convenience of the USB charging socket on the top and the power outlet on the rear (so I only need to use one socket for the speakers and Squeezebox) tops it off.

Highly recommended, although the lack of grille over the front may be an issue if you have inquisitive kids that like to poke thier fingers in things.

TeckNet MP3 player USB FM Car Transmitter

I am delighted with this product I ordered it on Sunday received confirmation of posting on Monday and it arrived Tuesday. Easy to set up and it works great, this is the first time I have used Amazon to buy something but it won't be the last.

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

The Good... I bought this purely for the FM transmitter - (new car without other means of connection) The quality of the FM is excellent (and most of these devices are terrible) -no horrible trailing cables and adaptors- , one touch activation. The radio receiver is superb as well - the best I've ever heard on an MP3 type device.

The Bad ...- 'A bit of a 'No-namo' brand - horrible website, don't answer e-mails, spelling mistakes in the software. USB is slower than it ought to be. All a bit dodgy really (but it is cheap!)

The Ugly - it's small and slim and looks OK except for a truly horrible keypad- ugly and awkward.

- And apparently it does video as well (but I've not tried).

All in all if you want an MP3 that transmits and receives FM go for it!
