Chopping Board

A very large and very heavy chopping board. Before I bought this I didn't realise how big it would be and would've probably gone for the smaller square version otherwise. It's very sturdy and will require two hands to lift, as it weighs around 6kg. You'll also need a big space to store it. Works very well as a chopping board as it's raised 6cm from the worktop and doesn't slip. Can be cleaned with warm soapy water and preserved periodically with vegetable oil.
Avoid soaking and store on it's side to prevent warping.

Probably ok for firewood

Looks good and feels heavy and robust. Unfortunately, ours fell apart within a week. The individual sections are only glued together and ours came apart in 3 bits. (And no, it wasn't dropped!) Amazon refunded the money though, no problem.

Was excellent for a week.

Nice idea and it looks great. However, after a week's use it curled up 1/4" at each corner so that it spins and wobbles when you use it. Makes a very loud sound when your knife touches it and it gets badly marked also.
This was £££ when I bought it - now a fortnight later it's half price..... go figure. Don't make the mistake I did - buy something else instead. I've given it 1 star because it's unusable.

It can't cut cheese!

I am extremely disappointed with this product. Each time I try to cut a slice from a large piece of Cheddar the cutting blade bends making it, not only extremely hard work to cut through the cheese, but impossible to cut an even slice. The blade has bent so far when it reaches the recess slot that it does not fit into it and catches on the wooden base. I presume this product is only for small, thin pieces of cheese, if so, I wish it had been stated in the product description.

Fantastic Board

This is a fantastic big heavy Butchers Block. I priced this up at John Lewis's and it was £30 so when I saw it here I thought it was the smaller sized one but ordered anyway because the price was so good - well it was the big one!

Measures approx 49cm x 34 cm (or 17" x 13") and is solid to say the least! Looks great and fantastic value - excellent wedding present etc - well worth it. I bought it with another item as well so got the SuperSaver delivery offer so that was even more of a great saving.

Well worth it for the money and better quality than I have seen anywhere else at higher prices

I love this worktop saver. It looks good in my kitchen and adds a touch of quirky charm to my traditional worktops. I use it as a cutting board for raw meat and fish as it is so easy to clean and so very hygenic.

Celebrity endorsement but a product not thought through properly

A chopping board is one of the most basic kitchen tools, this one adds a couple of features but poor design makes them useless.

Firstly I must say that I like the ergonomics, both the colour of the wood and design I find attractive and modern.

The drawer is a useful idea but its very poor fit and poor/basic design giving it a hesitant and shaky movement. After its first outing I just don't use it.

Finally the feet. Its nice to rest the board proud of any work surface, the soft rubber grips very nicely giving a cushioned but secure feel. Adjust the board without picking it up in the air means the rubber feet stretch and pop off leaving the large unfinished screw heads to gouge/scratch the £1000+ work surface you were trying to protect in the first place. In fact far more damage than if you had used a £2 chopping board from Tesco......

So I give it 1 star I'm afraid as it is after all a chopping board with 2 features, one doesn't work particularly well and the other fails so quickly it renders the thing unusable unless you take out the screws.......leaving you with a piece of wood.
