Very effective
This air cooler is very effective and uses evaporation (rather than a compressor) to cool your room. Although it doesn't need a vent hose you do need to be able to allow the air to circulate by having open windows/doors into the room being cooled. The fan although not silent is quiet with 3 settings and the evaporation (cooling) facility is regulated by controlling the flow of water behind the fan - an added benefit being the soothing sound of flowing water. It isn't particulary compact but it is well made and very effective providing you allow the circulation of air through the room to be cooled (if you do not it gets humid). Certainly recommended for the inevitable heat of summer.53

Cool fan
This is a nice fan. The retro styling goes with most decors, and it pumps through a good lot of air. It's all metal, (not silver coloured plastic) so is good and solid, and doesn't feel like it's going to bend and crack like some cheaper fans. That does mean it's rather heavy though.Looks good and feels good quality.
