Sony Rechargeable Battery for Cyber Shot

Bought as secondary battery for Camera, very pleased with it useful to know how long the battery has got left, gives number of time limit. Not fully used yet but very happy with product.

A comprehensive camera

A small camera filled with most of the extended range of options found on bulkier cameras. Neet feel in the hand, a good shape. Has got 15 times optical zoom and aperture or shutter priority besides the things that are now on many GOOD cameras eg red eye, blink delay etc.

Not able to review this product as it was purchased by me on behalf on my neighbour who does not have internet, who in turn bought it as gift for a friend, (in India) so its a long way away now.

A good basic camera

I bought this for my 7 year old son as a birthday present. I am impressed by its ease of use and its quality. It is ideal for someone who needs something basic and simple to use. I also bought it with a digital photo frame so he can show his photos off by simply slotting the memory card in (this needs to be purchased as an extra by the way). This was a good compromise so I am not wasting money by printing photos that are not up to my standard(!) and he can see his photos immediately which gives a great sense of achievement.

A bargain of a camera easy to use bought it for my 14 year old sisters camera i had a kodak before and loved it she cant put this one down. Easy to use great quality of pictures and easy to download pictures loved the colour. A bargain price came with the case and memory card a great buy.

GE X5

I looked at the Nikon 110 (great name but expensive) The Fuji S1600 (had some bad reviews and was £30 -£40 more than the X5 - although the Fuji has HD video) so, at the price the X5 was the one I want for.

Seems well built - the controls are easy to use, you will need to read the PDF manual to get the most out of the camera - although on auto it seems to work fine.

Video works well but only SD quality (but if I had wanted HD video I'd buy a video camera)

Zoom is excellent Macro is also good - the auto focus takes a bit of practice (other people have been complaining of blurry pics) but when you have the hang of it it's fine.

Don't expect £500 DSLR performance from this camera - but its a lot better than a point and shoot - it's worth it for the zoom alone in my opinion.

You will need to buy an SD memory card and some rechargeable batteries to make the most of this camera.

Bought for 10yr old

Bought for 10yr old and it's ok but does look a bit cheap as shiny plastic and cheap buttons and not much zoom but she loves it.

keep on coming back to this one

Have to say I keep on coming back to this camera. Used along with my new G10 for holls. The difference in mega pixels was negligible on screen. So very handy to keep in handbag/pocket, preferred its movie mode to g10. Hate having to use a pro-stick for card when inserting it into digi photoframe and computer etc. Forgot when going to print at Boots and had to use tweezers to extracate, I suppose you will think that's a"woman thing". This is the camera to keep on charge though, just in case.

Steer Clear

If you buy this camera expecting to record video with sound, dont bother!
Yes, it does record with sound but you need to hold the camera right against your ear to be able to hear anything, even with all sound settings set to maximum
We returned ours to Samsung to be told that the camera had been tested to"manufacturers specification" and there was no fault!
There are better cameras out there that produce decent sound for about the same price.

Great, stylish, compact

I love this little camera, takes up no space at all. Loads of features and quite easy to learn basic features. Most of all fantastic pictures. Make sure you know how to use the most common features before you take it out though.

good pictures and robust

i've had this camera for over 6 month and put it thru it's paces quite a bit. works fine, although low light indoor conditions could be improved. pretty robust too. my kids have grabbed it a few time, indoors and out. so far it has survived! also if you like to make money or give to charity with your shopping you can link to amazon via pigsback.

Is it a d860 or is it an s860?

I recently purchased this camera in its 'D860'guise, (although I fail to see any difference apart from a slight cosmetic change to the silver bar to the front of the unit the 'specs' being exactly the same), to replace a Samsung 5 mega pixel camera that I have been using trouble free for two years. I wanted a higher spec camera and after looking around I had convinced myself that I wanted a Canon 8mp camera, but upon seeing this on special offer at less than half price, £60.00, I couldn't justify the £120.00 price difference for the Canon, so plumped for another Samsung. I am glad that I did as it has everything required to take fantastic snap shots. It is a good looking unit, the screen is really clear although there seems to be a marked improvement in the quality of the pics once downloaded onto the pc, the colour and sharpness seem much better so dont be tempted to erase the pics until you have reviewed them first. The face detection has become a must use and the anti shake facility comes in useful for those late night in the taverna or bar holiday shots that would otherwise be ruined due to the demon drink! If you need all of the whistles and bells that are great but you never quite get around to using there are better choices to be had but not at this price. I doubt very much that you could do better and in summary, it's a fantastic camera at a budget price. Enjoy.
