KODAK EASYSHARE V705

I purchased this from a eBay trader and got an amazing deal inc. loads of extras for [...]! (go to eBay and look for the eBayer called 'DIGITALREV'.

camera looks very nice, has a good black finish and is an overall sleekly designed piece of kit. it boasts 7.1MP which is fine for me and most other softcore photographers, however i just cant see that 'amazing' look in my photos.

it has many other features to enchance photos and if you use alot of these with the bundled PC software, your photos may get the 'amazing' look you wanted straight away from when you pressed the capture button.

GET A SONY CYBERSHOT CAMERA INSTEAD, this ones ok but nothing brilliant :(

Kodak EasyShare DX4530 Digital Camera

After having this camera for about 4 months now, I've found the picture quality excellent - very clear and sharp, particularly impressive in macro mode. I bought the dock for ease of use, and the cd-rom user guide explains everything well enough. If you are looking for great quality pictures without too much 'techie' stuff to wade through,this is the camera for you as the on-screen display tells you what each mode should be used for. With the 256mb card I got around 210 pics in the top quality setting, plus lots of video footage too. The video mode includes sound and is actually a great picture considering it's a stills camera first and foremost. On the downside yes, it's not a small as some others on the market but these cost more any way, and it's a little niggling that you have to remove the lens cap in order to review your pics on the LCD screen, and you have to turn the dial through every picture format to get to the one you want to use, You'll use up the battery quicker using the screen to take pics rather than the view finder but this is the case with all cameras as far as I'm aware. The price and quality of pics outweighs the minuses however. I have been really pleased with the pics i've taken so far - if you are looking for an easy to use camera with the benefits of digital, my advise is check it out in a highstreet electrical retailer to check the handle and size for yourself...then order from Amazon for £100 cheaper!

I wouldn't buy a Kodak card again

There are a few things to take in mind when choosing a compact flash card other than price, capacity and speed.
My Kodac flash card gave me a few troubles when using it for a Pocket PC and then became totally corrupted, un-formatable and irreparable after one year. Perhaps for simple photo storage it would be ok but when considering when other cards made by more reliable manufactures who concentrate on data storage like Kingston and Sandisk are cheaper, I would not recommend Kodak in any way.

Obviously the larger the capacity and faster the write speed the better but also look out for reliability. Back up your files regularly and if you are using the flash card for a camera format the flash card each time you empty its contents onto the PC.

One Year On

I've had my DX6340 for a year now and couldn't be more happy with it. I bourght Kodak Travel Charger with camera bag and a 256mb memory card at the same time. As I've used the original battery as back up if the recharable battery dies at an awkward moment I can't comment on the lifespan of it, but it's still going and I have used it several times.

The camera got it's first trial in Greece, which taught me from the start to use the viewfinder rather than the screen, which was difficult to see in bright sunshine. This also saves on the batteries!

I've found the build quality is good - I've had no problems with battery casing. My one critism of the camera is that you can't zoom whilst filming in movie mode - the zoom has to be set first. I've not made use of the digital zoom, but couldn't be happier with the optical zoom.

The software is easy to use, and although initially I couldn't burn direct from kodaks software to CD rom, after I updated to version 4 there was no problem. I see no need for the camera dock as it is so easy with the cable supplied. As for printing at home with a camera dock/printer or other printer, I am happy to upload and get it done professionally - no need to keep buying expensive paper and printer cartridges!

The free trial of Sonics"My DVD slide Show" has convinced me that I will be buying this type of software in the near future. My only complaint about it was that I couldn't include the movies I'd taken in the slide show. So that is a function I will bw looking for. I have seen that Magix produce such a program.

My father is looking at the 4MP version, which again seems very good, and whats more it costs less than I paid for this camera a year ago -which means that the price for this camera has also dropped considerably in that time!

disapointing

I had this camera from new to go on holiday with. All the transfers on the back rubbed off and a lot of the pictures looked ok on the back screen but were blurred when we took them off the memory. Dials didn't help much. And with a time delay, something that most cameras have sorted now the whole thing was rather rubbish. Took it back!!!

The best quality in camera making

Kodak EasyShare C743 - Digital camera - offers the best quality in digital camera making. In my view, Kodak is truly a market leader. When I think about Kodak, I associate the brand with camera making as I vividily remember seeing adverts of Kodak from the 80's to present time. The particular model reviewed proves my loyalty with the brand. The camera is nice and simple to use, accompanied with a comprehensive guide and an adaptor to connect the camera to the PC. So you can send pictures to friends by email. With pixel of 7.0, the quality of pictures are amazing and higher. An album can be created for holiday snaps or parties.

Overall, a high quality brand in camera making and the model has all the features I ask for in a digital camera. A nice design, simple to use and excellent quality of pictures. I could not ask for anymore.
