Not the best aid.....

I have used this CD-ROM to help me pass my theory, a few drawbacks though:
1. Some clips are repeated which is useless for a learner as this will not happen in real life or on the test.
2. Some clips are of poor quality so you cannot see cylists etc until too late.
3. Adequate view of the road ahead isn’t given.
Although it states on the cover that they cannot use official DSA clips and the clips will be different to the tests, I feel they didn’t quite get it right.
However I do prefer do practically go through a practise test rather than watch clips on a TV and do nothing. This CD-ROM does show you your score clearly and tries to break each piece down which is good. Check out the official DVD or the sample that comes when you book your test to see more of what the test clips will be like.

Do all the theory test exercise..

and you are guaranteed to pass the theory test with high score.
The hazard perception is also very useful.
However, the practical disk is not much use, it cant beat the real driving experience.

Cheapest, easiest way through.

I bought this along with its Hazard Perception counterpart because I was far too daunted by the prospect of soaking up the books to learn the answers, and I'm glad I did, this really is the best way to learn; by doing, not reading. It contains all ~1000 official questions you could be asked in the test (don't worry, so many are very similar), and lets you sit mock tests that pick out 35 random questions. Doing 4 or 5 mocks a day gets you up to speed in no time; you're not wasting time covering stuff you know like you would with books, you just go through mocks answering as you can and at the end check the ones you got wrong, why you got them wrong and what the right answers are, remember for next time. At first my scores were ~25/35, then over a few weeks climbed steadily to always being over 30 (the magic pass mark).

I passed my theory with 35/35 first time and I'm real glad I done it with this and not bulky books that would have been slower and more frustrating.

PLEASE READ THIS before taking your test

Before you go to take you theory test, do A LOT of practice quesitons and tests from this package.

I fooled my self into thinking the theory testy wouldn't be tricky. But I failed once in the real test, two marks down on the multiple choice part. I took the test again, and failed again,
one mark down on the theory test, but I totally stormed the hazard perception. Now I'm awaiting a third test,
and I'm making sure I know e v e r y t h i n g.

So...

DO AT LEAST 30 TESTS WITH THIS SOFTWARE BEFORE YOU DO THE REAL THING!

...or of course get another source of info that you can browse without it asking you quesitons.

All in all, a great piece of kit, but I wish the DLA made an official version like this.

Got the pack as a present for my brother Peter. He was really pleased and worked out that the content is great value for money, my money haha. It has all he needs and he is well pleased. Arrived on day specified, really good as a gift as it doesn't need gift wrapping - it already looks wrapped. If he doesn't pass his test soon I will have to smack him.

Bought this a couple of weeks ago to prepare for the hazard perception part of the Theory test.

Apparently only 1 in 2 people pass the theory test now and I wanted to be the 1 that passed it. At first I found it a little difficult as I wasnt sure if I was suppose to click at all hazards or try to identify the one they were looking for. However as it turns out if you read the insturuction and help section its failrly simple - click when you see a hazard and when it develops. I practiced it for a couple of weeks and had my test. I passed the test first time! I actually found this CD a little harder than the test so I would recommend it to anyone who has the theory test comming up and wants to pass.

I found the test a breeze and I'm sure that's because I had this to help me prepare for it.

real life road signs...

I bought this product as I had failed on several occasions when practising for my theory test. I hadn't a clue with my road signs...OK i new the Stop and give way sign, but apart from that I had no idea.

I thought that this CD would be hard work and a little boring, but at least I would stand a better chance of passing my test. How wrong could i have been...i actually found myself on this CD for over 3 hours and I didn't feel like i was revising for anything! A few days later I resat my practise theory test and passed to my amazement :0)

I would really recommend this CD to anyone who is having problems with road signs. The real life pictures made it easier to, as you could see where you would find the sign on the roads, rather than reading it out of a book.

Would highly recomend this cd to anyone taking there test.

Great CD's but shame about the DVD

Step 1 - consign the DVD to the bin (it's tedious in the extreme). Then get on with revising for your driving test. Both the Hazard Perception and Theory test revision CDs are excellent. They follow the test closely and the questions are the actual ones that you will encounter so if you practice enough the likelihood that you will fail is very low. In particular the hazard perception test seems to catch people out. In practice it's clear that they aren't tryig to trick anyone. Running the videos quickly shows that the DSA is expecting you to spot rudimentary things such as cars braking, pedestrians walking in the middle of the road, cars reversing across the road, oncoming traffic, etc. Essentially all those things that would cause you to brake or stop. Having seen it I think that I wouldn't want anyone on the road who could not spot the things they are testing for. The theory test CD has a voiceover for anyone who has difficulty reading. All in all an excellent purchase.
