Cannot believe the cheap price
Having read all the previous customer reviews I was anxious about purchasing this Sony card. However I noticed it cost £44.99 in Argos and with Unique-estore offering it for £6.49 + P&P I thought 'what the heck'.I ordered it on Wed evening and it was delivered Friday am.Excellent quick service. It is the black Sony card, it looks to be genuine amd more to the point it works very well with my Sony Cybershot camera.I have already downloaded my first photos to the computer.I am more than pleased!!3

Review for Sony Cyber-shot W170 Digital Camera - Silver (10.1MP, 5x Optical Zoom) 2.7" LCD:
It's a fantasic camera! I could end up using it more than my D-SLR as the pictures are of the same quality, but in such a small case!
The last compact digital camera I had was another Cyber-Shot, the P-10, but its 5 years old now, and how its all changed. Everything is so fast, from turning it on, to focusing, to zooming, to taking as many pictures you want in a row, its all instant!
However, I really think the best points of this camera are the functions that do it all themselves. Face detection and the Smile Shutter. No longer is face detection a gimmick, everything is adjusted to make those faces look the best they can, focus, exposure, white balance, and flash are all adjusted. And it plays a role in the Smile Shutter, the most fantastic thing you will use for a long while.
Just focus the camera, press the shutter, and smile! It really works, and is so fun to use, you can also set the camera to child priority, so that the camera will only fire when the children in the photo are smiling, I hear sighs of relief from parents everywhere!
But using the Smile Shutter you will always get great people pictures, as i've found, after the first smiling picture, the subject laughs so much at the camera that it just keeps going!
All of this, and a lot more, in something you can fit in any trouser pocket, what an age we live in.
Ok, a couple of tiny gripes. The camera is slower to focus when zoomed in to the max 5x's, but only by about a second. The other is that in my 5 year old camera, the infoLITHIUM battery used would tell you down to minute how long you had till it ran out, all of my Handycam's do this too. This camera CAN do this, but you have to purchase an infoLITHIUM battery seperatly, would have been nice to include it in the box.
Overall though, its a supurb piece of kit, and i'm sure it will capture many moments, probably 95% with smiling happy people due to the Smile Shutter, to come.

Review for Sony Cyber-shot W170 Digital Camera - Silver (10.1MP, 5x Optical Zoom) 2.7" LCD:
Everybody's smiling with the W170
I've already got an alpha 100 D-SLR, but there are occasions when its just not the time to lug a great big camera round with all the different bits that go with it. So I thought that this would be a good everyday sort of camera. I was wrong. It's a fantasic camera! I could end up using it more than my D-SLR as the pictures are of the same quality, but in such a small case!

Review for Sony Cyber-shot W110 Digital Camera (7.2MP, 4x Optical Zoom) 2.5 inch LCD - Silver:
Great
I brought this camera a little over 1 month ago, and after extensive testing on a holiday to Berlin was very impressed with the features on this camera, only down side is the smile feature! i tied it out, and you need to be grinning ear to ear to make it work! but apart from that it is a good camera. Battery life is very good, and there is an internal memory just in case you run out of space on your memory card, i have a 4gb memory card and have found this sufficent for at least 4 days worth of photos, picture quality is very good as is the video recording. i would recomed this camera as it is light , looks good and packed with features.8
Review for Sony Cyber-shot W130 Digital Camera - Black (8.1MP, 4x Optical Zoom) 2.5" LCD:
After a bit of use I have a few gripes with it that its worth noting :
The optical viewfinder is too small to be of much use though which is a shame - as one of the few compacts these days to feature one you'd think it would be more practical. The other compromise made to make it so small is that the buttons are absolutely tiny - if you have big fingers you'll really struggle to navigate the menus.
The way the menus work is also a bit odd - some menus appear or disappear depending on the mode you have selected via the mode dial. This means for"easy" mode there are virtually no menu options at all - the camera handles everything, up to the program modes where lots of menus appear, and the scene modes somewhere in between. This is probably great for people who just do want to point and shoot but is a bit confusing when you're getting to grips with what the camera can do.
Also confusing is the bewildering array of icons on the LCD screen at times... a lot of them aren't very intuitive and they can really clutter the screen. Likewise navigating through the menus is not intuitive - i keep trying to use the circular disk below the mode dial to move through the menu options and end up setting up the timer or macro mode by mistake. I'm sure once you're used to it everything makes sense but its quite different to most digital cameras I've used.
My final gripe is that battery life is average at best and a spare Sony battery for this camera will set you back about £30. 3rd party manufacturers do make"compatible" batteries for half the cost but my camera complains about using them - it will power on and function fine for about 10 seconds before displaying an message that it needs a compatible battery. A little research on the web shows this is a common problem and Sony will just tell you to buy a genuine Sony battery.
So thats the complaints.. one the plus side :
- Face detection works well - I assumed it was just a gimmick but it really works
- Image quality is good as you'd expect (although not as good as I've seen with earlier cybershot models).
- Extremely compact.
- Offers something to both the point and shoot market and those looking for more control.
- 4x Optical zoom is good for such a small camera.
- The menu system allows you to create folders on the memory card to organise your photos which is quite handy when you have large memory cards
On balance it does what I want it to do - it just takes a bit of getting used to if you want to do anything other than snap away in"easy mode", and its a bit underhand of Sony to prevent the camera working with 3rd party batteries.

Review for Sony Cyber-shot W130 Digital Camera - Black (8.1MP, 4x Optical Zoom) 2.5" LCD:
Compact but fiddly.
I bought this camera a few weeks ago to complement my main camera which is a DSLR. I wanted something compact either to take out when not wanting to carry a bulky SLR and lenses, or to allow me to just have a big lens on the SLR and use this for landscape and portrait shots. After a bit of use I have a few gripes with it that its worth noting :

Review for Sony DSLR-A200K Digital SLR Camera + Zoom Lens Kit (18-70mm F3.5-5.6):
Great first DSLR camera
After lots of research on which camera to upgrade to I decided to go for a DSLR and Sony A200K kept coming up highly recommended and in the end the excellent price made me decide and go for this one. I could not be happier with my purchase. I have only just started off with it so I am still learning, it but must say its so easy to use and the manual very clear (and I am a complete beginner, have only had a tiny digital camera up until now...)Took some great pictures in the park and the quality is amazing. If you are considering, go ahead and treat yourself it is so much fun, you will not regret it!10
Review for Sony 8GB Pro Duo Memory Stick:
I want to advise; never buy memory stick from third party sellers just because its a little cheaper. There are lots of fake memory sticks made in china which look so much like the genuine memory stick. I actually bought a memory stick before from a seller in ebay because it was cheaper but what I got was a fake one which doesnt work properly (can't read data and can't take data more than 1~2gb). Get it from amazon, its the most sure, fast, cheap way to get a GENUINE memory stick.

Review for Sony DSC-W300 Titanium Coated Digital Camera (13.6MP) 2.7" LCD:
Top of it's Game
Wow, this thing is just so far head of everything else. It's a gorgeous bit of kit , & not too slim , like some of the compacts, but it is still small. The Titanium coating on the stainless steel body is gorgeous & makes it tougher & more scratch resistant. The menu system is a dream plus very easy to use. Having just upgraded from a"Big"Fuji 6800 that I bought in 2000, this seems tiny & hi-tech. Other than all the mega pixels , the main draw point for me was the inclusion of an optical view-finder which can extend your shot capacity per battery charge by having the screen off. The Fuji had one , but it is almost impossible to find a compact with one these days. I hate composing your shot on the screen, I must be old fashioned I guess, but I love having the big screen to browse through the menu, & what an array of options.Black & white was a new one to me but one I hope to use a lot , as I like to draw, & to draw in pencil from a B & W subject matter is far easier to transpose to the correct shades. Smile recognition is a sticky one though & I have a feeling this may not work all the time, but then again who knows ? Overall ? WOW ! Brilliant. Top Dog.13
Review for Sony HDR-SR12E HD Hard Disc Drive Handycam - 10MP:
There is a couple of problems however. If your hand is not too large it can be difficult to reach the top mounted"Photo" and"Zoom" buttons. Another excuse for the wife not to use it. Likewise the record button on the back can also be diffiecut to reach but I am getting used to it. The backlight compensation switch is activated using a very small button just under the front of the lens which takes a bit of finding when you are in the middle of shooting a scene.
The optional 37mm ND filter and Polarising filter kits are not available as they have been"Discontinued" according the the local Sony shop. Strange for a"NEW" camera product.
Other than that the camera has with its 120GB hard disk storage got loads or capacity before having to upload into a computer for burning to DVD. The camera has a very simple to use editing function where you can split the recorded image at selectable points to get rid of unwanted sections and then discarding the parts you dont want. I have no idea as to the data managment of the hard drive when sections are deleted but hopefully Sony will have worked out the problem of de-fragmentation of the drive so that delted files dont use up recording capacity without having to clean up the drive from scratch.
Only one last comment. If you can afford one GET one you wont be dissapointed.

Review for Sony HDR-SR12E HD Hard Disc Drive Handycam - 10MP:
HDR-SR12E
I updated my old Tape FUJI camera for the Sony SR12E unit and the performance of this camera is brillant. The operation is easy and not difficult to to get great results out of the box without having to go through the CD based manual. The camera is a little heavier than the current small camcorders but this one is packed with features with loads of options. There is a couple of problems however. If your hand is not too large it can be difficult to reach the top mounted"Photo" and"Zoom" buttons. Another excuse for the wife not to use it. Review for Sony LSC-VAC Compact Camcorder Soft Carrying Case:
A Lightweight Compact Solution
I was looking for a case that did NOT turn a lightweight & compact camcorder (Sony DCR-HC35) into a heavy large item to carry around whilst out & about, the LCS-VAC lived up to my expectations, it can hold (in addition to the camcorder)1-2 spare tapes, the remote control & a spare battery OR additional small still camera. If you do not take the mains charger with you everywhere you walk to, then this is the case for you. I Paid £[...] including postage which is much cheaper then anywhere else I have seen since.16

Great buy
Just got my card today and all seems well i use it in my sony dsc w130 and i get 1250 pics on 8 mega pix cam. On the bad side the adapter that card with the card seems tight when using in my sony vio laptop.
