Good Viewing for couples

I bought this as a little treat for my BF

It is not all glossy like some other adult DVDs and quite reasuring that not all women have the body of a super model.

It worked a treat in the bedroom and got us both in the mood

Bring a love story, nudity, supernatural things, witches, hot guys, and a dream place and u'll get"Dante's Cove".
well.. it's more Dinasty than The Godfather but u'll have fun.

This is one of them and I am over the moon. Good quality, great action, brilliant running time and no cheesy 70s music.

Great viewing

Educational, not erotic!

As a virgin (ahem) to The Lovers' Guide, I had no idea what to expect, except that the series is intended to be more of an educational tool than sex scenes to arouse.

This new release is different to those that have gone before because it's an Interactive DVD, meaning you can pick and choose which sections you want to watch, and in which order.

The DVD is broken down into several sections; Making Sex Better, Overcoming Problems, Facts & Information, Sex Quiz and Intercourse in 3D. Many of these sections are then broken down further, so if necessary, you can just watch which sections are relevant to you. Basically, though, this DVD is aimed at heterosexual couples. I can't see there being much relevance for single or gay people.

It's a great educational tool, though. If you're inexperienced with sex in relationships, or sex in general, then there is a great deal of information here that you will find incredibly valuable. However, if you are experienced in the bedroom, then it's likely to have you rolling your eyes and saying"Yeah, yeah!"

There's a total abundance of information covering everything sex-related, right from masturbation through oral sex and intercourse. There's even a fascinating section which shows what sex looks like from the inside - using the same machines used giving pregnant women scans! The quiz is great fun to test you, particularly if you think you're a bit of a know it all! You may find you're not, after all.

In summary, I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who's after porn, you're barking completely up the wrong tree. There are naked people doing naughty things, but there's voiceover etc, and it's not erotic, simply educational. This is ideal for a new couple looking to explore all aspects of their sex life, and I think it could be particularly useful for men who don't want to read books. The quiz is an excellent way of testing if they've been paying attention, too! A couple of downsides were the inconsistency in sound volume, meaning I was constantly messing around with the remote control, and some video clips had poor recording quality.

Informative and explicit!

This DVD was more explicit than expected, but not in a crude, porn-film way. The couples looked like ordinary couples rather than glamorous models and the commentary was helpful, with a humorous edge. The only down-side was that some of the positions that were demonstrated rely on the man being particularly well-endowed, so don't rent or buy this if you're a man with an inferiority complex!

Yawn!

The only way to watch this is with the sound turned down. The soundtrack is muffled and poorly dubbed. The storyline would bore a five year old and the girls voices had the sex appeal of Andy Pandy. Quite the most tedious film I have ever watched half of.

Come Back to the Cove.....

Dante's Cove series two kicks off exactly where the last series left off. Toby has been left for dead by Ambrosius, who is still pursuing Kevin and has Cory under his power. However, it soon becomes clear that Ambrosius' plan has failed and that the two lovers are still very much together.

Grace returns to torment Ambrosius more, as well as the mysterious Diana, who seems to know both of them very well. Van begins dabbling in the work of Tresum and then encounters Grace for herself, Ambrosius gets a makeover and helps Adam discover his true sexuality while Toby and Kevin try and maintain their relationship despite the interference of others.

Van's girlfriend Michelle is introduced to the series and as Van gets more and more involved, she accidentally puts a spell on Michelle that makes her forget everything about Van. It soon becomes clear that Diana has an ulterior motive for being at the Cove and is connected to Grace in a stronger way than first thought.

The series ultimately builds up to the dramatic finale at the Solstice, where Grace and Ambrosius face off to claim ultimate power over Dante's Cove. The lives of the characters will never be the same again if Grace's freezing of the land because of her pain continues or if Ambrosius manages to free the Cove from Grace's pain and rage.

Dante's Cove returns in this 2-disc DVD set, this time featuring five episodes instead of two and with many more characters and much more plot. There are still plenty of hot, sweaty sex scenes but this time around there are even more supernatural goings on as well, along with solid characterisation and twists and turns.

If you enjoyed the first series, then you will love this too. It is more of the same, with a bigger cast, a bigger budget and even more juicy episodes.

13 full lenght films across 4 DVDs with a great running time.

The quality is excellent and stories varied with some great action

For under £10 I do not think you can go wrong

Emmanuelle , released in 1974 was the first soft core porn movie to achieve major box office success ,and this after the French government tried to have it banned. With utter predictability this ensured the film was an overnight success in it's native France , and it also went on to triumph in the USA where it was marketed as an art house movie which is a bit like marketing"Monty Python And The Holy Grail" as an historical movie , but there you go. Based on the controversial 1957 novel"Emmanuelle-The Joys Of A Woman" by Emmanuelle Arsan this is a film with some arresting erotic scenes but one which overall takes itself far too seriously .
The films flimsy plot-when does any porn film soft-core or otherwise have anything but mind-see's Emmanuelle (Sylvia Kristel) leave Paris to visit her diplomat husband in Bangkok , where she mixes with her husbands more sexually adventurous and liberated friends .Her husband encourages her to have extra-marital affairs and she starts by starting a lesbian relationship with archaeologist Bee(Marika Green)When this fizzles out she is placed under the tutelage of sex guru Mario( Alain Cuny) who explains to her how to explore her erotic desires.
That's about it really .Directed by Just Jaeckin , who also directed"The Story Of O" the movie features some truly eye catching cinematography using the exotic Thai locations and the performance of the striking natural beauty Kristel is surpringly good. This is the un-cut version so some of the films more contentious scenes, which have been victim to the censor before have been restored. The notorious nightclub smoking scene which is about as erotic as having your genitals poked with a lion fish is still there as, are the slightly regrettable scenes where Emmanuelle is coerced into things that she doesn't really want to do , which some will view as rape. Emmanuelle is far too plaint a character in this movie , it would have been preferable for her to gain some level of control and independence as the narrative progressed
The last third of the film degenerates badly with some excruciating dialogue and the introduction of some annoying characters and it's seems clear to me director and writers really had no idea where to take the film and the therefore the characters. Still , some of the scenes have retained a very pleasing erotic frisson and it has a certain charm and simplicity in this age of easily accessible internet porn , most of which makes"Emmanuelle" look like a"Flake" ad. The sequels that followed while allowing Kristel ,who bafflingly never followed up on her successes with this move franchise , to invest the character with more assertiveness were a succession of increasingly tawdry copies of the first. As soft-core porn Emmanuelle is probably as good as you will see .Judged purely as a piece of cinema it's not that great but most people will view it purely as the former so it does it's job very well.

Informative

Saw this Dvd recently after storing it away for a while and tried one of the oral techniques on my girlfriend and was able to give her a strong orgasam fairly rapidly! You can feel a bit patronised watching these kind of instructional videos as if you ought to know this stuff but Tracey has a very human quality to her presentation that makes you persevere!

Innovactive interplay involving interesting individuals...

Delightful and interesting interplay involving three main gay roommates and their terribly soap opera lives.... X - the hooker with a morale compass, Andrew - the beefcake, only now coming to grips with being gay and Joey - young, naive and not innocent in the slightest!

It starts with an odd premise of X trying to figure out how to proceed with the next phase in his life, and being able to share his life with another - but he wants to enter this phase on his own terms, and wants everything to go on his terms. The focus of his attentions are on one of his roommates, Andrew, who is trying to come to gay persona and loosing himself, albeit trying to hold out for X!!! The interplay is effortless, as the acotrs, though not seasoned, more through the wonderful tapestry with great ease.

Not to be outdone is charming Joey - with his speech impediment (see the movie or at least the trailer... it is amusing inside joke)!

Defo worth repeated viewings!!!

Explicit art

It was not, to be honest, one of the films in the world I have enjoyed the most. The Japanese fascination with pain is a bit odd to me.

But it is well made, and it proved an important point: that the western idea that sex or nudity must not be shown in a serious film is just wrong. It only seems wrong to show nudity or sex when the film makers are trying at the same time *not* to do it. If it is a natural part of the film, there is no problem whatsoever.

It is a pity that we can only see sex or nudity in porn films, for they are always attrociously bad.

Hardcore art

I would imagine Destricted as a loop in an exhibition in an art gallery, with a guard outside on the look-out for under 18s (probably this is what it was, actually.)
This DVD contains seven different art shorts regarding sex/porn. My favourite of these is Matthew Barney's Hoist, which would truly rival Eraserhead in the surreal steaks.
My only criticism of the DVD is that it only mentions the names of the artists, not the names of the films in the menu!
If you're interested in the sexual side of art, buy this. Prepare to be stimulated and disgusted, at the same time, in equal measures, by Destricted.

French Heat- The Hauting

Yawn

Unlike my fellow reviewer, I have decided to be harsh and go for 2 stars here. My finger was on the 'skip forward' button on my remote far too much for me to be any more generous than that.

The show is very unremarkable once you get over the fact that there's a bunch of naked guys singing. That takes approximately the duration of the first song, and there was little else in this to interest me after that. The songs were bland and the guys slightly too buff and too kitsch to keep my attention (depends on your preferences there I guess!). The whole thing lacked authenticity and seemed very contrived, which may be because it's a recorded live show like the first review mentions.

If you want good male singers and songs, then go and see Michael Buble, Elton John or REM in concert. If you want to look at naked men, then try 'the Full Monty'!

A step in the right direction!

I will keep this short but i saw Chris' Hard Games... loved this.. totally brill... my boif says its one of his fav twink films. Eurocreme has gone all bareback so great to see boys using condoms!
