The horse version of 'dressage' woukld have been more exciting!

The film is over 20 years old and it shows. One is attracted by the assertion that this is the 'first uncut version' - it implies that there must have been some sexually explicit sections cut out in the previous available version to satisfy the censor at the time. Well if there were, they still don't seem to have been replaced! The story is very simplistic, predictable and rather naive."The corruption of innocents" again implies - at least to me - scenes of eroticism and a true adult sexual nature. Didn't see any. Technically, the interior scenes were very dark and at times, one really couldn't make out the characters or what was happening. (Wasn't the CD player either!) All-in-all, it was very disappointing.

Bizarre cult movie from 1975

Some movies are bad and good at the same time. Noone could (or should) take this movie seriously. But if you like silly movies with a lot of female nudity in them, then check this out. The plot (eh!) is about a young man living in a castle. He kidnaps a beautiful young woman and ties her hands to some ropes hanging down from the roof. And, oh yeah, he strips her of all her clothes. So she stands there completely naked tied to those ropes for a good portion of the movie. And when someone comes into the room, he has to hide her under some big blanket. Just your everyday kind of movie-plot...
And it's dubbed. At least some of the actors are Danish-speaking from the beginning. But they overdubbed them with English voices. The butler sounds really silly, but in a fun way. This movie is hilarious and NOT as porno as the picture on the cover might look. Only the women (and lots of them) get full-frontal nude.

Not so posh!

The girls are ok, but its the same stuff with lots of censorship. I don't know what the previous review meant by"new relaxed censorship laws", but this is the same style as a Ben Dover film I saw 5 years ago. Fair enough, the action is real, but its about as rude as freeview!

my english education was never like this !!!!!!!!

Education anglaise does not refer to the learning of the English language, rather it alludes to a strict form of teaching supposedly used in Victorian times. Certainly a lot more severe than the boarding school education that I received ! The movie starts on a semi humorous note when a couple are so keen to get down to business in a hotel room that they don't even wait for the maid to finish servicing the room before they start to service each other ! Cue for much disrobing and threshing about rudely interrupted by a guy who shoots them both (the old infidelity ploy!) then turns the gun on himself ! This all takes place in France in the elegant 1930's & very quickly we get to know the hapless heroine, Sylvie, who lives with her evil uncle (her guardian, sine the demise of her parents !) - he's the type of guy to whom you'd like to see something really horrible happen. This swine bundles Sylvie off to boarding school so that he can entertain himself with not one but two women at home.
If Sylvie thought things were going to improve at school she quickly finds out otherwise as the women that run the school are similar to the Mother Superior in Silent night deadly night in that minor transgressions merit severe corporal punishment. There is also a caretaker / handyman who delights in pushing young girls around & you hope that something horrible will happen to him too ! The plot thickens when an announcement is made that a local criminal has recently escaped & very soon thereafter a new teacher arrives at the school. She quickly blends into the strict regime of corporal punishment that is dished out & invents some tortures of her own, one being a bizarre chariot race ! The girls, quite understandably, console themselves with nocturnal lesbian activities as there are no fancyable men around - cue for more full frontal action !
Retribution & reprisal are yet to come as the film delves into more perversion & strange sexual behaviour but there's a nice twist in the tale which is hinted at on the front cover photo of the DVD !
Technically speaking this is an excellent crisp print & devotees of the genre will be pleased to learn that the hitherto 1 minute & 34 seconds originally removed by the censors have now been lovingly restored !
Another hit from the aptly titled `Naughty' label !

Chav-tastic!

Corolo's latest DVD continues in the 'chav porn' vein with a series of vignettes about streetwise straight boys persuaded to dabble with gay sex. It's got an attractive cast and it's well shot and edited. The 10 lads all look like they're having the time of their lives - Tommy Haine in particular plays his part with gusto, clearly relishing every second. If trainers, trackie bottoms and gold chains are your thing, this one's highly recommended.

A grand, metaphorical mystery and a radical piece of cinema

Without meaning to sound crass, Sex and Lucia (2001) is essentially a film, both literally and figuratively, about holes. We can look at and interpret these various holes in number different ways, be it in the more obvious creation of the cavernous dents that litter the film's expressionistic landscape, or instead, as metaphorical places for the characters to hide. On top of this we also have the holes as a sexual metaphor; with the sub-textual references to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and the various thematic ideologies that such a notion presents, with the central character falling into a hole and being re-born into her own story; while later in the film, the male protagonist disappears into a hole and never returns. We also have the more erotic notion of the hole, as illustrated by the holes on the beach surround the obvious, phallic-like light-house.

Here however, director Julio Medem is more concerned with how these holes in both the design of the film and its structure can be used as a means of navigating the audience through his various interweaving strands of character, narrative and the potential for multiple thematic outcomes. With this in mind, Sex and Lucia becomes less of a film in the conventional sense and more of a detective story for the audience to follow; existing in the same self-reflexive, psychological realm as Medem's other great features, such as Vacas (1991), The Red Squirrel (1993) and The Lovers of the Arctic Circle (1998), which each present similar ideas pertaining to the creation of a particular character and the world in which they inhabit. With Sex and Lucia however, we have alongside this titular character a handful of secondary characters that drift in and out of the film to supply clues before disappearing without a trace. To add further elements of confusion, paradox and open-ended interpretation, Medem skilfully juggles these characters between each varying strand, culminating in several possible stories each being woven simultaneously, but all leading back to the idea of the writer and the story that he (or she) is creating.

It isn't as confusing as the interpretation would suggest, with the film rewarding patient and imaginative viewers with something that could be described as anything from a grand mystery, a cinematic enigma or a multi-layered riddle, wherein the stories are given the room to weave in and out of one another, creating windows that lead into dreams and everything is in some way connected. For anyone familiar with Medem's previous work it is clear that some elements of the plot are supposed to remain indecipherable. The director wants us to go back and re-experience the film like we would a novel; each time picking up subtle nuggets of information we may have missed the first time around. It is important to remember when watching Sex and Lucia that we are dealing - as stated above - not with a single story, but with several or more stories each being spun concurrently. When we begin to look at the internal logic of the story we see the fracturing of two separate elements. To better understand the film we must look at the plot, not from the point of view of Lucia, but from the perspective of the writer, noting how each of his sub-plots come to reflect the main elements of the story.

So, we have a writer submitting a book about a couple's sensual holiday and eventual one-night stand. We then have the characters from that book losing touch, getting on with their lives, discovering the existence of a baby and eventually trying to track-each other down. Then we have the writer trying to write a novel about the new woman in his life. This book has none of the tragedy of the former, instead dwelling on love and sexual elation. Unsatisfied with this, the writer then begins to draw parallels with this story and the previous one, by re-introducing characters and adding a subplot of infidelity; all of which will climax on the island where the original story began. So there we have three novels within the film each being read, written or re-interpreted and each of them coming to reflect an element of Medem's film. Throughout the film the writer relates his story to various people; at one point even explicitly mentioning the hole in the middle that leads back into the story and the central idea behind the film. It is at this point that Medem begins incorporating narrative elements from the couple's gossipy conversation on the bench, the child's bedtime story, the internet relationship, the suicide note and finally, a central character's coma-induced fantasies. There are also some wonderful examples of character doubling, coupling and mirroring between the leads, which recalls the similarly complex experiments of Jacques Rivette's Celine & Julie Go Boating (1972) and is also Buñuelian almost in its execution.

Medem's stylistic touches make the film all the more deceptive; creating a wonderful, alien landscape for his characters to interact with. As well as this, we also have an exceptional use of cinematography, where the camera is always mobile: circling, tracking, blocking, revealing; really becoming one with the characters and bringing us into both the fun and frivolity as well as the mystery. The editing works in as similar fashion, with Medem keeping the structure tight and rhythmic as he merrily jump cuts from one thing to the next, but always keeping the separate elements connected. Though some will obviously be put off by the explicit scenes of sexuality and the bold experiments with plot and character, for me, this is really a remarkable piece of cinema; one in which the literal plot holes are there to be explored, especially if we want to fully understand the film's gloriously tangled narrative and ambiguous shifts in time and place.

Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish

I've seen quite a few ben dover films so i thought i knew what to expect, unfortunatley this seems to be a soft version, you dont see anything, not impressed, dont bother

only '18' not 'R18'; and only 1 disc

(Only one disc was added to my rental list not 3, and there was no '9' prefixing the XXX). The first section on this vid is produced by 'Insanity' and arguably u'd be insane to buy this - rent it at most. In other words it isn't hardcore as i sense none of the adult films on amazon are. The 'action' does appear to be real (no story lines, just a series of repetitive bedroom scenes) but the camera/direction is clearly done so as to make sure you see none of the goodies, so how do they claim it's 'hardcore'? Beats me, since i thought the laws relating to sex films in the UK had been relaxed and brought into line with the rest of Europe. I think the key is in the disc having an '18' grading and not an 'R18' grading, but i still don't see how the 'hardcore' description is justified, but presumably legal it is. And how James Herbert Jamie H comes up with 'bloody great' is beyond me, unless he received something else, as in 3 (different) discs and not 1

Misleading Title Don't Wait Up ALl Night For This One

Ha ha this is about as hardcore as Take That or Boys II Men, you see none of the 'hardcore' just camera angles which prevent anything of any excitment been seen.
And this goes for any of the DVD's within this series DO NOT buy them as they are not HARDCORE!!!
The onlysaving grace is the women are amazing and some top stars are on show but seeing a pretty face is only good for so long ; )

Au pair, au naturale

A quartet of sexy ladies (from Sweden, Denmark, China and Germany) travel to London to work as au pairs and end up in various saucy situations involving a great deal of gratuitous clothes-shedding. That's all there is to it really.

On the plus side the ladies are very attractive and look good with or without their togs on - especially the beautiful and shapely Gabrielle Drake (who also starred in UFO and Crossroads). Just think though, they are probably all drawing their pension nowadays.

The film's director Val Guest made his name in the field of sci-fi and horror and his directing credits include 'The Quatermass Experiment', 'Quatermass 2', 'The Abominable Snowman' and 'The Day The Earth Caught Fire'. In the 1970s, as well as directing 'Au Pair Girls', he also directed 'Confessions Of A Window Cleaner' so his career definitely headed in a more lewd and crude direction.

If you are a fan of the 'Confessions' films or some of the bawdier 'Carry Ons' then you will probably enjoy this movie.

Having read all sort of reviews on the `Masseuse' staring Jenna Jameson my girlfriend bought that and this title for me (both made by Vivid). Both had been edited beyond belief (Does Mrs Whitehouse work for Amazon?).
If you want to watch the `real' version buy it elsewhere, CDWOW sell the original copies. Everything that Amazon sells is soft-core rubbish, which is so edited that it is unwatchable. Boo Amazon, Boo!!

A number 69 please!

This is a first-rate piece of cinema all-round, but it is largely memorable for the scene in which a feisty young female backpacker stops to take shelter within the all-girl academy. It certainly brings a whole new meaning to the concept of the all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet!!!
