CSI's Best Season Yet!
After six seasons and over 100 episodes, CSI is better than ever. This season is by far the best. Season Seven has 2 main storylines; The Miniature Killer (1,2,7,10,16,20,24) and the Keppler storyline (12,13,14,15). It also includes such brilliant episodes as 'Fannysmackin', 'Sweet Jane', 'Post Mortem' and 'Empty Eyes', also, this is the only season to end with a cliffhanger, which sees Sara trapped under a car in the dessert.Bonus features include:
MINIATURE MURDERS
LAW OF GRAVITY COMMENTARY
SMOKE AND MIRRORS:DIRECTION
LAB RATS COMMENTARY
THE EVOLUTION OF SEASON 7

Review for CSI Miami - Complete Season 1:
Even as a pretty avid fan I have to admit Caruso as Caine uses a lot of clichés but he always picks the right one for the job and it shouldn’t take away too much.
As with the others all the science is there as is the completely implauseable turns of events (in some cases) but that’s entertainment for you.
I’ve enjoyed it and I hope I don’t lead anyone astray by reading this review. Good show, Good fun, Light entertainment

Review for CSI Miami - Complete Season 1:
Different to CSI or CSI:NY
CSI: Miami is hugely removed from both it’s counterparts mostly because of it’s contrast. The inital cutscene of every episode is some flyover with vibrant colours and a pleasent feeling, then out of nowhere there’s a dead body. In fairness it’s also easier to watch than CSI or CSI:NY because of this.Even as a pretty avid fan I have to admit Caruso as Caine uses a lot of clichés but he always picks the right one for the job and it shouldn’t take away too much.

Review for CSI: Crime Scene Investigation - Season 6 Complete:
If they're backing out of this now, then that's really lame and now the sets won't match which I'm quite annoyed about because I already have the other 5 and I thought putting all 8 of them on (6 for Season 1) made the sale for me, it differentiated it from the split-seasons.
CSI 6 was after the Tarantino peak. Stories became more about characters, riding the waves that he started in the 2-part season finale Grave Danger. It works quite well, making the show more interesting to watch and finally letting us know the characters a bit better.
While its all starting to look a bit sameish, this next season is still CSI and that's still pretty good.

CSI 6
I hope this isn't the actual cover for this release as its just a rehash of the 6.1 boxset - I thought the best thing about these complete sets was that as well as giving you both sets in one box, the box had exclusive, full-cast artwork not on any other box in the world. If they're backing out of this now, then that's really lame and now the sets won't match which I'm quite annoyed about because I already have the other 5 and I thought putting all 8 of them on (6 for Season 1) made the sale for me, it differentiated it from the split-seasons.

Review for CSI: NY - The Complete First Season [2004] (REGION 1) (NTSC):
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Each of the CSI franchise series has its own sense of identity and its own distinct 'feel' both in terms of the teams and the style of filming and set production. CSI NY has a darker look and feel - literally. Some of the scenes inside CSI HQ are almost Gothic in the way dark areas of shadow surround the areas of highlighted brightness where examinations and tests take place. The whole thing has a more subdued feel than either CSI LV or CSI Miami but the cityscape provides a much broader and varied panorama for dramas to take place.
Gary Sinese as Mac is superb - not the exuberance of Horatio nor the 'other worldiness' of Grissom - far more rooted in the real world with a weariness borne of the after-effects of and the physical proximity to 911. It's true that his team isn't yet as well developed or individualised as those in the other two CSI teams, but the pairing of Mac and Stella is probably the most believable and interesting in the whole CSI franchise.
This is definitely a series to catch if thus far you have only encountered CSI Miami or Las Vegas.

How could you NOT love these shows?!
Okay, so I haven't actually bought this DVD set yet, but it is still one of the best shows on TV today. Why can't we Brits make shows like this?! Much preferable to Miami (Horatio Caine just makes me cringe), and on a par with the original CSI. I recommend this to anyone. Bring on the season 2 box set!51

Review for CSI: NY - The Complete Second Season [2005] (REGION 1) (NTSC):
------------------------------------------------------------------
Season 2 is darker, MUCH more dramatic and vastly more exciting than season 1 - and Season 1 was, I believe, an excellent start for the 3rd CSI spin-off because it presented us with a much more interesting and believable set of characters.
Having now seen the whole of season 2, I find it to be pretty well the best of all the CSI's so far - and that includes Las Vegas 1-6 and Miami 1-2. In this season, two of the CSI team find themselves under investigation for possible involvement in different crimes; one is fired, one is killed and another is .... well, you'll have to watch and see. (Opaque clue ... in those three events, only two CSI team-members are involved).
As is a feature of all the CSI series, storylines and wrong-doers have a pleasing habit of unexpectedly re-appearing at irregular and unpredictable times. This is something we don't tend to find in UK series when events and storylines are often more linear. Or series such as 'Waking the Dead' start with the premise that something that happened long ago now needs to be re-investigated. In CSI, this isn't usually the case. Thus it is that several characters from previous storylines and/or Season 1 make a re-appearance during Season 2. There is also a cross-over with a CSI-Miami storyline and the consequent involvement of Horatio Cain.
The characters of Mac and Stella and developed in much more depth and a new CSI fits in really well, even though signs of unease and strain start to show. Maybe that will be a thread that will be developed in Season 3?
As you'd expect, there are murders and suspicious deaths of all sorts. So take my advice - don't just stop at Season 1 part 1, stretch to Part 2 as well. You'll need to anyway if you want to find out how one particular storyline is brought to an end - not to mention the mystery of how one CSI may or may not have been involved in a killing carried out by the Tanglewood Boys.
Everyone who enjoys the various versions of CSI soon develops their own favourites. For the record, I feel that CSI-NY is far and away the strongest of them all with Gary Sinese producing a performance that draws out the best from all those who act with him as part of his team.
Season 2 is a real winner.

Excellent Crime Drama
CSI is simply the best US police procedural drama (which, given how many there are, is saying quite a lot). The stories are strong and there is a cast of interesting characters. For me, the central character, Gil Grissom (brilliantly played by William Peterson) is the reason it works so well. Grissom is wonderful character - an introverted and rather unemotional man, a serious scientist who happens to be a criminologist. As such he is free for most of the traditional TV cop baggage, giving the whole series a fresh and interesting perspective. In this series, the CSI team gets on with investigating crime scenes and solving mysteries attempting, but not always succeeding, to do this without bias or preconceptions. They leave the police work to others. The rest of the cast is also very, very good bringing complex and interesting characters to life.
Danny Boyle directs most of the episodes with great style, even his habit of focussing in at a microscopic level (e.g. looking at blood vessels etc) works well. Setting the series in Las Vegas works well - the city, the desert, the mountains - they all provide great backdrops and look fantastic.
This is the season where CSI really got going, it is even better than the very good season 1. The characters are more fully realised (we start to get glimpses of their life outside work) and there is a very interesting group dynamic. Combined with the excellent story lines and some interesting forensic science this makes for an excellent season of an excellent series.
