if youre like me and have very unreliable driving instructs with weeks apart between lessons then this will keep you a fresh on the basic of driving while also studying for your tests. highly recommended

Education at all angles

This is truly a great piece of sex education for any one. During the commentary you can switch between him/her or a third person view which allows you to see from different views what is happening during sexual intercourse. Don't look at this as a dirty porn film because it is not that at all. It is purely for educational use and is filmed in a very professional and respectful way. The extras are good such as how the guide was made and the troubles the crew had to go through in making it, as well as a few quizzes that try to profile you and then tells you to watch certain chapters to work on your love making skills.
This is a great extra if you have any of the Lovers guide dvd's or just an intro to the dvd collection. If you have enjoyed any of the 'A girls guide to 21st century sex' episodes, then you will enjoy this.
You and your partner wil not be disappointed.

Quite Interesting and VERY addictive!

I got this for Christmas last year and once I started I felt it EXTREMELY hard to put the DVD remote down once I started playing! It was very satisfying reaching the end, solving the anagram and getting congratulations on the QI website when I typed the correct solution in.

Did you know that there are 8 to 10 thousand known species of grass? That's just one of the many interesting (if not that useful) things you may well learn during your adventure through the 7 'threads' of the game.

The game is both enjoyable to play on your own or with family/friends.

A *must* buy for all QI fans!

Have I stumbled into the wrong show?

If you thought you were expecting sequins, leotards and other flamboyancy then you've either stumbled into the BBC ballroom or possibly Stephen's dressing room.

This DVD is so hilarious and as the DVD blurb does state, the closest one gets to dancing in here is the name of each"dunce rooms" with them being various dancing styles and the questions rarely associated to the name itself.

However if you were eagle eyed then back during the start of March you would have noticed that The Times was running a Free DVD/PC Game promo and sadly QI's Strictly Come Duncing was one of the DVDs, whether you were lucky enough to have gained a copy or not, purchasing this DVD will not only give you a mental thrashing with General Ignorance but when competing with the very amusing Alan Davis (which can be hard at times)makes this DVD very worth while.

Now here is how the scoring works on the DVD:
Correct Answer: +1 Point
General Ignorance Answer (Common Misconceptions): -5 Points

Plus depending on the dunce-hall you choose can alter the way Stephen greets and announces the scores.

So go forth and purchase this DVD and long may QI be on our screens, and if what John Lloyd is proposing we still have 21 years to go (1 letter per year - Series 'E' having recently finished)

Doesn't Work On My DVD Player

It constantly freezes at the end of Round One. I'm going to try it on my PC (as others have) but I'm not holding out much hope.

The original and still the best!

Always a great family game for Christmas - it has loads of music intros and the single and multi player games mean you can play it with all the family or even on your own! Plays much faster than a lot of other interactive games on the market!

My Kids Loved It!

I bought this game for my daughters as soon as it came out as they are absolutely in love with the films, and thankfully this lived up to their expectations brilliantly. In fact i can hear them singing along to it now. They went into school the day after they got it and all their friends were jeaslous and now i'm the cool dad!
I've bought DVD games for them before but they soon lost interest as there weren;t enough clips from the actual films to keep them interested but this time there seems to be enough. I can't reccommend this high enough, if you have kids who love High School Musical this will tide them over until the 3rd film comes out for sure!

Complete tosh!

I only gave this one star because I had to give it something. Please don't believe the reviews that give this rubbish 5 stars, it is so totally tedious I thought about chewing off my right leg just to stay awake. There really is nothing interesting or remotely clever about it, and it gets worse when you have to listen to the same dull story at least 10 times. Stay away!

A pain to set up - could be improved

We had to do the set up about 4 times before it worked properly, once we got it working though it was fun although there were probably still a few delays meaning the wrong people got the points (not good if you're competitive!)
Don't really like the option of stealing someone else points but you can't do anything about that!
Wouldn't pay £15 for it but if it's reduced it would be a good bit of fun for about £10.
If the people who make this play it right they could produce a very good 2nd one but the first just screams for improvement.

Best of Pub Quiz's so far

Bought this as a game to play over Christmas, but wanted to check it out over the weekend, to make sure it was OK. Ended up Spending most of the weekend playing it. Easy to play & very addictive.I will now have an unfair advantage on Christmas Day, when the family play. However i rarely came across the same questions, over the weekend, so feel there's still alot to be discovered in this game. I like the pub quiz format as the whole family can play. This is the best by far i've played. One word of advice, if you're buying it for Christmas don't do as i did & sneak a peak, as you'll get hooked.

Good, but with annoyances

The game itself is a solid bit of family entertainment, but has two niggles that may reduce its novelty - first, it's not possible to skip Chris Tarrant and his repetitive phrases in between questions. Second, a lot of the questions get repeated, which is a bit of a shame - the bank of questions could do with an increase, or perhaps they should add the option of downloading more and using supplement DVDs.

There are options of tackling Adult or Junior 'difficulties', and categories of General Knowledge, Entertainment, and Sport.

Once choosing either Adult / Junior, and the preferred category, the game follows the same format as the TV show (without the fastest finger first, for obvious reasons!).

Unfortunately, Chris only reads the million pound question aloud, and instead there are a bank of phrases between questions that do get a bit irritating.

The repetition of questions is a bit poor I feel - it doesn't take much to think up plenty of questions and put them on a DVD. I couldn't find the total number anywhere, but the DVD quotes an 'extra 1500'. Split across three categories, this may be only 500 per category, and split Junior / Adult, that may only be 250 'extra' questions. Although I have no evidence of this, the repetition of questions suggests there are not a huge number of questions, so the 'extra 1500' may well be clever marketing

All in all, it's a good game to play with the family, but its shelf-life is pretty limited. Getting to a million becomes fairly easy after playing the game for a while as the same questions come up. Disappointing

The addition of being able to cut out all Chris' commentary and increasing the question bank would make this a 5* item as opposed to a 3*

Great game Poor Execution

Bought this as a family game for christmas - When playing the game it refused to play the team game , and froze half way through the single game. I did finally get it to work running on a PC , But i have also tried it on a number of DVD players with mixed results , although i haven't done exhaustive testing on this I think it may have something to do with whether your DVD player is DVD + or DVD -. Nothing in the instructions alludes to this. Having played it a number of times now with the 10 and 7 year old , it is great fun although the same catch phrases to come up quite regularly.

Intriguing

In 1958 America the most popular form of entertainment was quiz shows and the most successfull was"Twenty-One". Champions of the show were national heroes. One such hero was Charles Van Doren (Ralph Fiennes) a university professor and a product of America's most renowned literary family. People would tune in every week and watch in amazement at Charles drawing on his huge intellect and knowledge to answer the most obscure and difficult questions. No one would believe that this was a fix and the public only saw what the network and the producers wanted you to see. Herbie Stempel (John Turturo) a previous champion brings accusations against the network that this was a fraud which is dismissed but finally dug up by Dick Goodwin (Rob Morrow) a young lawyer working for a Congressional subcommittee.
Directed very well by Robert Redford and with fantastic performances from Ralph Fiennes and Rob Morrow but for me this film is all about the amazingly intense performance from John Turturo who literally eats the screen whenever he's on. Good performances also by David Paymer and
Hank Azaria as the shows producers.
This film superby captures the birth of popular television and the rise and fall of the first reality tv stars in an innocent era highly polished filmaking

A good way to pass the time!

I was really excited to receive this as a Christmas present and had a great time playing it. However if you are into Poirot and have either read the book or seen this episode on TV, then you will know who did it very quickly. It says on the box 'different game, every time', so hopefully it will be different next time we play, although I can't see how the outcome will alter. Still - a good way to pass a rainy afternoon!

Bit disappointed with this really ... seems quite disjointed and the game seems to"stick" quite a bit ... Ok for a bit of fun though!!

terrible game play

To choose box 12 say you have to scroll through 11 boxes zzzz. Very poor. The people who gave this 3,4 or 5 stars clearly have shares in this product. terrible!!

Better than I thought...

Having played and tested recent dvd game releases such as deal or no deal, Countdown, Who wants to be a millionaire and family fortunes, this was BY FAR the best out of them.

Ok those of you who are expecting it to be exactly like the show may be put of as one or two of the rounds are missing but you can see why for instance with the"buzzer round", how would that work on a remote with two teams? It wouldn't.


Saying this the dvd proved to me a real hit in the House at Christmas and was enjoyed by all the family. Better than I thought it would be...and not once have I seen the same question appear twice

Great family fun

This was the first time I’d tried an interactive DVD game and I have to say that I was very impressed! Good, challenging questions for children and adults and it really seemed like you were in the hot seat on the TV with Chris giving a great performance as always. I thought the lifelines were good as they often gave a helping hand but didn’t always automatically guarantee you the right answer. I had great fun with the family over Christmas playing this.
