Review for Family Guy - Season 2 [1999]:
Absolutely hilarious
Family Guy series two is one of my favourite seasons, it is far superior to series one which was alright ( still funny though ). Every episode in this season is brilliant and hilarious and the jokes are great, although they might be offensive to some people. Meg and Stewies characters are a good bit different from the characters they were in season one but they are funnier in this season. This is an excellent season and I highly reccomend it to any animated offensive comedy fan104
Review for Doctor Strangelove (Collectors Edition) [1963]:
Why? Well, there are different reasons to say that, but I think I'll point out only those that I deem more important:
1- To start with, even though this film was made in 1964, director Stanley Kubrick managed to create a timeless masterpiece that depicts, in a sardonic way, the dangers of nuclear war. The message of this movie still comes across as valid, albeit nowadays for different reasons.
2- Secondly, even though the subject is undeniably serious, this movie is a black comedy that makes you laugh. If that is difficult to believe, take into account that the plot involves a crazy general (Sterling Hayden) that sidesteps the chain of command in order to launch a nuclear airstrike on the URSS, something his aide (Captain Mandrake, played by Peter Sellers), the President (played by Peter Sellers!!) and many of his advisors (including Dr. Strangelove, a scientist also played by Peter Sellers) try to stop. But will that be possible? And what about the Soviet"Doomsday Machine", that will be triggered automatically by any nuclear attack on Soviet soil?
All in all, I think this is the kind of movie you simply must watch. Highly recommended :)

Simply brilliant, and not boring at all...
"Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" is an old movie that tackles a difficult subject, the end of the world as we know it due to a nuclear war. Despite that, it is simply brilliant, and not boring at all. Why? Well, there are different reasons to say that, but I think I'll point out only those that I deem more important:

Just What The Docter Ordered
Fresh, original, funny and gripping. This is by far one of the best comedy's that has hit BBC Three, straight up their with Little Britain, but for completely different reasons. Moz is a small time nobody, who deals pot for a living. The whole show is centered on his flat with people coming to visit to score some weed. Each character is different and holds a separate story we learn of as the series goes on. Most of the time Moz ends up on the crap end of the stick, and bullied into things by local nutter, Physco Paul and Cartoon head, Cartoon Head being my favorite. The story is good enough to keep you gripped and coming back for more, the characters are likable, and most importantly the central character, as played by legendary drunk, Johnny Vegas, is attachable. With the third season hitting stores soon and the fourth season airing later this year, its the perfect time to catch up or get into IdealAlso if you enjoyed this, you may enjoy a similar comedy, called Top Buzzer, you can pick it up cheap on DVD, easily recommended

Review for Eagle Vs. Shark [2007]:
Awesome!!
I went to New Zealand last August and stayed in Auckland. On my last night there we decided to go and see a Kiwi movie at the local cinema, and we wanted to go and see the film that had massive posters everywhere; Eagle VS Shark. Other than that we knew nothing about this movie. I honestly didn't expect Kiwis to have such an excellent sense of humour (I like to think Brits have the best) but I was verging on embarrassing because I was literally laughing hysterically for the majority of the film. The use of the stone roses track at the end did indeed bring a lump to my throat, and people may say this film is just an imitation of Napoleon Dynamite but I don't care to be honest because I've never even seen that film!! And I love Eagle VS Shark! It really suprised me and though I wanted to hate Jarrod for being so mean to lovely little Lily I actually found him kind of hot. The wheelchair scene is the best part! Watch it if only for that it is so shockingly brilliant! You expect this film to have a yucky American conclusion but it really swings the other way. Love it!!108

Not as good as"Hot Fuzz", but still pretty funny
This was the film that first introduced me to Simon Pegg's films and I ahve to admit that I couldn't really have picked a better place to start. There are laughs-a-plenty and quite a bit of gore. Anyone who gives this a bad review purely because of gore and/or swearing really shouldn't have watched it in the first place. So if those aren't your cup of tea, don't buy it. If you don't mind a bit of either, then this is a bloody good film!109

Review for Desperate Housewives: Season 1:
Lynette is brill as the stressed mother and her husband Tom is fab! I also like Gabrielle and Carlos Solis. I was hoping this show would be a substitute for my much loved Sex and the City but it couldnt really replace, or live up to that for me, but none the less, it is a brilliant show. I will definately buy Season 2 when that is released also.

Review for Eddie Izzard - MMVI - Unrepeatable/Definite Article/Glorious/Dressed To Kill/Circle/Sexie:
You don't get much better stand-up
Eddie Izzard is, at least in my opinion, the best comedian on the planet. He is very funny (which helps), but also comes off as a 'nice person'. He seems a lot more down-to-earth than other comedians. Anyone who is put-off by the whole transvestite thing is really missing the point - if anything, it just gives him more material. He never repeats any material (well if I've forgotten then only a slight repeat). There are so many amazing routines and jokes in this box set it is hard to pick out the best show, let alone the best routine. Eddie (or Mr. Izzard) is great with his miming and impressions - especially his dentist routine in 'Sexie'. Sometimes if he messes up or gets carried away he can bomb a little bit (sounds a bit contradictory), which is probably most apparant in 'Glorious'. However, if you stick with the show you will love him by the end. He is clever, nice, insightful, down-to-earth and very very very funny. All the shows are very re-watchable if you just wait till you've forgotten a couple of the jokes. In fact, I think I'm going to go and watch Circle again right now.Oh yeah - this is pretty good value for 6 shows (it was even better value this time last year so just wait a bit!)

Review for When Harry Met Sally [1989]:
Among the best scenes for me as a man are Harry talking to his best friend at a baseball match, but still going through the motions of the Mexican wave. It's something most women just don't get. And then there is the classic moment when Sally consoles Harry after a bad date by saying that it will probably be ages before either of them are ready to sleep with anyone again to which he replies: 'Oh I went to bed with her!'
It is a great love story and a great comedy, and the segments with old couples telling the story of how they met (based on the real life stories of the crew's families) are brilliant, and will have you look back on when you met your significant other.
The documentary that comes with it is a great look back at the film as well and is the perfect compliment to this timeless classic.
No, this is no chick flick, and yes, women should probably love it, but men should too. Maybe all men need to take a queue from arguably the most famous one liner of all time and 'have what she's having.'

Review for When Harry Met Sally [1989]:
'When you realise that you wanna spend the rest of your life with someone, you want the rest of your life as soon as possible.'
Some have called 'When Harry met Sally' the greatest chick flick of all time. I disagree; it is certainly better than any chick flick I have ever seen, but it is no chick flick. In fact the film combines all the best elements of books like High Fidelity and Birdget Jones' Diary which both men and women should enjoy.Among the best scenes for me as a man are Harry talking to his best friend at a baseball match, but still going through the motions of the Mexican wave. Review for Mrs Caldicot's Cabbage War [2003]:
Eventually wakened by a sense of betrayal and longed for freedom, she finally begins to see her surroundings as they really are. Staff at the rest home are tranquilising virtually every resident to keep them quiet, prevent falls and therefore reduce staff overtime! Even the manager of the rest home (John Alderton) is reaping dividends in terms of Matron's very special kind of TLC.
The film does touch on a nerve ... the process of growing old with dignity. It makes you wonder if you might eventually end up in a similar predicament, eating cabbage seven days a week!
Reminiscent of Shirley Valentine, with essence of One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, the central character demonstrates the human ability to adapt and emerge stronger without recrimination.
Pauline Collins yet again adds her own very special something to this film, and gets a gorgeous man to boot.
Glamourous? Always. Granny? Never.

Review for Mrs Caldicot's Cabbage War [2003]:
glamorous but not a granny
After watching Mrs. Caldicot's cabbage war, I was reminded how versatile an actress we have in Pauline Collins! The story centres around a married 'non person' who suddenly finds freedom after a rather peculiar end meets her husband. Put into a 'rest home' by her weak minded son and manipulative daughter-in-law, she spends a short time in drug induced oblivion.Eventually wakened by a sense of betrayal and longed for freedom, she finally begins to see her surroundings as they really are. Staff at the rest home are tranquilising virtually every resident to keep them quiet, prevent falls and therefore reduce staff overtime! Review for Ideal - Series 3 [2007]:
Tucked away on a late-night slot on BBC3. Since that channel was recently re-branded as a teeny-bopper channel, it seems even more out of place amongst the mind-numbing celebrity circle jerks and tedious shock-docs. Why it hasn't reached a wider audience is a mystery to me. I will take a guess that the reason is because of the subject matter of a small time drug dealer, although this is obviously just a plot device that suits the format of one central character with many supporting characters.
Ideal is a simple tale about Manchester's least industrious weed dealer and his motley crew of buyers. Or is it so simple? As the series goes on, the lives of all his mates and customers become increasingly more entangled.
The dialogue is sharp and modern, without ever sounding forced or crammed with buzzwords, and it's brought to life perfectly by a great and ever increasing ensemble cast headed by Johnny Vegas himself.
If you always thought you didn't like Johnny Vegas, you might just be surprised at this show - He shows himself to not only to be an excellent physical, or facial, comedian with great comic timing, but also express just the right amount of pathos to lift the show above the regular sitcom situation.
To be honest, series 3 is probably the worst series of the show, but it still manages to beat everything else on BBC3 hands down. Series 4, coming to the end of it's run on TV at the time of writing, has been amazing and has brought the show back right onto top form.
Graham Duff, Johnny Vegas and the whole cast - Thanks for the laughs!

Review for Le Dîner De Cons:
Now don't get me wrong I a not comparing this film to the Uk"The Office"series but I am the Emotions it can evoke in some people. If like me, you laugh at Brent's (actor Gervais) behaviour & manners you will have an excellent comfortably hilarious evenings viewing, if however you are like My big Brov - he , though has made many attempts can not watch the office as he find himself cringing & shouting at the TV screen at Brent's(Gervais) behaviour, not something he likes to do after a hard days work.(Apparently he has met in real life too many like Brent's to find it relaxing...)
Each to what there humour/emotions can handle...Warning this can evoke in some people that cringing, shouting at the TV screen - My friends son does when watching this, hides behind his fingers screaming at Monsieur Pignon, a character you can not help but love.
I have lost count over the years how many times I've watched this film, each time it just gets seems to get funnier.
Subtitles: I bought this for my late step father, his arrived from AmzUk (2 years ago)with the option to play having English dubbed over, If your comes like this I would advise you to play in French with English subtitles, as the timing , original voices are much better. Having said that as it a film you are likely to watch MORE than once, and if your unfamiliar with French, you could watch the English dub version 1st, bearing in mind you will find it funnier 2nd time round in French/Uk subtitles.

Hilarious: You will either laugh till you cry or curl up in a ball cringing,If you are the latter will also cause you to scream!
One of the funniest, cleverly written French farce's I have ever seen. The relationship between the main 2 characters is both funny & sad. This is a timeless classic, which works regardless of nationality. As many have written about the plod of the film, there seems little more to add. However....Now don't get me wrong I a not comparing this film to the Uk"The Office"series but I am the Emotions it can evoke in some people. The best of Scrubs
This third season of Scrubs is my favourite of the ones that I have seen. Although it is generally just more of what has gone before this season has some brilliant episodes and some particularly great guest stars. Michael J. Fox's performance as a visiting doctor suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder is exceptional and is probably the best thing I have seen him do in ages. Season three also includes what is almost certainly the most emotional episode of Scrubs; `My Screw Up' which I am embarrassed to say actually made me shed a tear or two. All the other episodes are almost as strong and the season as a whole is the best that Scrubs has to offer.120
Review for Wild Hogs [2007]:
The story is more like a series of mini adventures bound together by a movie familiar; the road trip.
Roughly half way through the film we have the injection of The Del Fuego bike gang who fall somewhere between the nasties in 'From Dusk Till Dawn' and the gang from 'Every which way but loose.' The heavies decide to take on the four heroes for trying to pretend to be bikers and of course we have the inevitable slapstick violence which I enjoyed for it's wondeful comic timing and the interplay between the main protagonists.
Importantly here, our suburban adventurers, previously belittled for being just that, highlight that it is this very normality which makes them the men they are - not shirking the responsibilities of family and work and still able to follow a dream.
Three cheers for suburban dreamers...

Great family movie.
As a bike fan I wanted to watch this for the harleys, but do quite enjoy Tim Allen's antics in most of what he does but ended up being engrossed by a magic blend of characters headed up by John Travolta, Martin Lawrence, William H Macy, Tim Allen and the menacing Ray Liotta. The story is more like a series of mini adventures bound together by a movie familiar; the road trip.

Five Stars and a Big Cheer !!!
Nearly every British film that EVER comes out is always given the title 'BEST BRITISH FILM EVER MADE', it's embarrassing! Imagine if every American film that came out was tagged with 'Best American film ever made', so why do we Brits do it ? Most of the time, they are not the Best British Film Ever made!!! We do make great films but we do not need to put a tag on the film!!HOWEVER...Four Weddings and a Funeral definately deserves the title of 'One of the Best British films ever made'.
It is so beautifully written. The cast are absolutely brilliant. So many classic funny lines. John Hannah's speech at the funeral is outstanding. Hugh Grant is so loveable. Simon Callow (loved him in 'Chance in a Million') dancing at the Scottish wedding is so funny. There are so many funny things to mention. When Hugh is stuck in the cupboard whilst the bride and groom are getting 'jiggy' is hilarious!!
I was so sad to hear that Charlotte Coleman (Scarlett) a very talented actress, sadly passed away so young, and I loved her character in the film. I think every Actor/Actress who appeared in the film or anyone involved with this film should be so proud. In the future, people will still be talking about this film. There is nothing fake about it. It's a film about love, its many forms, and how it will find you!!
It's a truly 'feel good factor' film. Richard Curtis put pen to paper and wrote a beautiful classic comedy that will be loved always. Thank you Mr Curtis.
