ONE TO WATCH AGAIN AND AGAIN....AND SING ALONG WITH!

This is such a lot of fun, and Amy Adams should have won an oscar not only for her 'camped up' but absolutely necessary mannerisms, but also for her lovely (for an american) singing voice.

Simple summary, to keep her crown jelous mother-in-law queen sends to-be princess from world of disney animation (talking animals, happily ever after, etc.) to present day new york for the shock of her life (traffic, rain, rudeness, robbery, etc.), prince follows to find her, queens accomplise follows to kill her with poison apples, princess has a way with animals...even in new york....is befriended by divorcee with young daughter he is 'protecting' from fairy tales so as to prepare her for the real world, etc, etc.

Absolutely a must see movie if (a) you have children or (b) like musicals or (c) think Amy Adams is a babe!

3 stars for children; 1 for grown-ups

The animation crew walked away with the budget for this one, so you get to see what a scriptwriter can do for pocket money. Of course the visuals are impressive but not nearly strong enough to carry a whole film. The 10 minutes of inspiration spreads pretty thinly over what feels like a fortnight. The characterization is weak, the humour forced and the editor had clearly lost his scissors or the will to live. Remy the rat wants to be a chef, which makes him unpopular with rat-kind, and, well, everyone else actually. But guess what - a little bit of ratty self-belief just might conquer all. The ending is telegraphed loud and clear in the first few scenes but the journey is slow, and mainly uninspiring twaddle; including how love might blossom for a man with a rat on his head. However it is absolutely perfect to keep small children amused for those times when you can't sit with them. You don't get terminal boredom and - here's the bonus - it's not interesting enough for them to bombard you with questions you can't answer, or ask for a repeat viewing. For these occasions it is the ideal (rent, not buy) choice.

Don't waste your time!!

This is quite possibly one of the worst films I've ever seen! I don't just say this because I feel like Disney bashing it is cheap, false, lacks continuity and a story line amongst other things.
Fair enough to Disney for trying a slightly different genre but you've have thought with all their backing they could have made something that didn't make you want to vomit!
The major problem I have with this film is the fact that it's not believable it just follows a group of 'perfect' people who don't seem to have any real ambition in life as they seem to change their goals every five minutes.
But its gotta be the ending that really wound me up I mean why?! Its just so cheesy and cliche and the characters magically change costumes at least twice, to me it just seemed that Disney are under the impression that kids will watch anything.
Do your self a favor don't waste your money if you really want to see this film catch it on the Disney channel!!

Miserable clone of the original

The original National Treasure was a fun adventure film but the truth is that NC2 is almost identical except for being weaker at every turn. A classic case of"we made $x,000,000 with the original so if we repeat the formula EXACTLY we must make at least half that with the second one - no risk involved". You'd be better off just watching the original again.

High School Musical 2 Rocks

This is a Disney Muscial with good wholesome values/morals and messages but the surprising thing is that the majority of the songs are good and the performances entertaining. As Grease was for the previous generation so High School Musical will be for this growing generation.

There are some good scenes especially when Sharpey sings Fabulous and the disasterous song she sings to Troy which she wants them to perform in the talent contest.

Good Fun and enjoyable.

I love Disney filmas a lot. Well I have Disney in all my veins. Mary Poppins is a wonderful film. Well written, well acting, adn animated as well. The songas are among the best of Disney. What can I say more... Buy it!

Excelent This DVD is like one of the family

My 3 year old has worn this DVD out and I am now ordering a new one. He has watched this film to descruction and each time sits through from the start to the end. It also was great for adults to watch with their kids, the bonus feature at the end shows how the film elvolved from the hay day of route 66 to the run down towns today. Even the tow truck (Mator) looks like the recovery driver on the footage.
I cannot reccomend this film high enough for content and entertainment.

Cinderella

Some good re-touches and some excellent original animation bring breathes some life and humour into a classic kids story. Reccomended.

A Childrens Classic

I loved this film almost as much as my children.
It is without doubt the best kids film ever made.
I loved Shrek and Small Soldiers , but and my kids say TOPY STORY is Number One.

I LOVE ITTTTTTTTTTTT!

Finding nemo....ahhhh what to say about Finding Nemo. Well one word comes to mind..."AMAZINGGGGGG". This film is sooo brilliant, god bless whoever came up with the idea! If you still have not seen Finding Nemo, you must of been on a different planets cause this movie is something you can not miss. However if you have not seen it...watch it NOWW!!!! You'll be thanking god every night for this gift. All true disney fans must have this movie, if you do not...your not a true fan! :)

Classic Disney Animation

101 Dalmatians is one of the best Disney animated films ever made. The classic story of Pongo and Perdita, the two dalmatians who somehow manage to have ninety-nine puppies is well known around the world. As is the film's evil villain, Cruella De Vil.

In the film, she decides that she wants to use the precious puppies to make an exquisite fur coat. However, when Roger and Anita - Pongo and Perdita's owners - refuse to give them up, she chooses to steal them instead. The adventure which ensues will captivate the whole family and unite those young and old in appreciation for this often unmentioned classic.

An animated masterpiece that will enchant, thrill and uplift the whole family!

charmless

perhaps one of the less attractive of the disney animations.

walt disney himself disliked the final product, feeling it cold and unlikable and to this end i have found it to be that too. despite the apparent lightness of the plot, the jollity seems forced, the characters jaded and the dialogue too upbeat and so far-removed from the original play that the real essence of that play is lost completely. disney was able to completely reinvent other works (e.g."the jungle book" animation bears so little resemblance to the book that it's almost a completely new but brilliantly inventive work that appeals to young and not-so-young alike). the play"peter pan" has been reinvented, but the new creation is an inferior piece. having said that, there will be much to entertain the younger viewers, but older ones may lose interest quickly.

to me the real star of the film is the music, which, as in most disney animations, remains second to none.

Good but no cigar

I liked the film on it`s own, as it is quite well made except for some of the crew appesring in some shots, and reverse sceens. It`s good on it`s own, but after reading holes I had mixed feelings. Indeed it is very very similar in storyline, which is one of the things I gnjoyed most about it, But the charecters contrast like black and white: In the book, for example, the main charectar [Stanley] is said to be fat. In the movie he is lanky, and so on! Still, a very enjoyable one for the kiddies!

The Aristocats Special Edition (Upgrading?)

I purchased this copy to replace my current copy of the original dvd release.
Please be aware that this version has not been"Digitaly restored". They claim"Digital Transfer", but I could still see film spots etc, which are removed in a"restoration" i.e. the quality was not as good as it is when they restore.
They have also converted the movie into Widescreen format using Pan and Scan.
If you are interested in the animation side of the movie, then you will find lots of original detail missing as the top and bottom are chopped off.
If you just want the movie to fill the whole screen, then this is the dvd version for you.

Alice in Wonderland is a cool topic!

Alice in Wonderland is a good book I ever read in my lifetime. In this book, Alice is actually seeing a dream or I suppose her mother is telling her a story and suddenly Alice sees a dream, Ya!that's it. And , She first follows the rabbit ,and she sees a glass table in which the first object she sees is"Drink me" and so when she drinks it she becomes small enough to enter the small door.And another time she saw"Eat me" and it was a lovely chocolate cake(I suppose)that when Alice saw it , she was mouth watered. so she ate it and she became big enough and and and....... sees the mushroom and on top of that the cat, then she wanders in the place where she meets the cards and the queen of cards... Oh, what interesting story it makes altogether. Howewer, this story is actually written by Lewis Caroll, my favourite author. Have you ever read this book?Come on , you can even see it in a CD.

Excellent Film - But Disney have messed up the blu-ray

Tihs is an amazing movie but Disney have made a frustrating disc.

There are about ten different commercials at the beginning of the disc, thankfully you can skip them with the next button but you have to do each one individually, so you're sitting pushing next for about five minutes before you get to the main menu (you can't just press the menu button). very annoying. if i've paid £20 on a disc i deserve to be allowed to watch it.

more annoying is that disney have made the disc bypass one of the recent playstation 3 features. the playstation 3 remembers the playback position of dvds and blurays after you stop watching and resumes from that point, even if you take out the disc and put in another one. this even works on old dvds. however disney's enchanted blu-ray always starts from the beginning, meaning you get the adverts again.

thank you to the makers of this movie and to disney for making a movie that openly mocks its own legacy in an entertaining way. but disney's over-zealous advertising department needs to think about the consumer a bit more.

BLISS

Still reticent about letting my small sone watch too much TV, I was *so* relieved when I put this movie on. The bliss of being whicked immediately back to my own childhood, the beaming pleasure of my small son as he watched the familiar, lovable, gorgeous little characters.
The hilarity when Pooh falls out of the honey tree!

This is the best of the Pooh movies. The animation is done in the style of the original EH Sheppard drawings, and the stories follow those in the book (apart from a very brief appearance of annoying new beaver character, who falls down a hole anyway).

The film is shown on a book, and the pages turn between scenes with the charaters sometimes walking/hopping over to the next page. It’s gorgeous. It’s adorable.

IT’S ALL ADORABLE. It’s childhood in a plastic box. It’s superb. Well done Disney. Well done A A Milne. Well done E H Sheppard. Well done everyone. And well done me for buying it!

One of the best!!

This has got to be one of the best Disney movies by far. This is a great family movie for young & old. My kids never tire of the adventures of Mike & Sully!!
