Review for Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars [2005] (REGION 1) (NTSC):
Bad Points:
(1) I have to be honest and admit that it ’ s now been years now since I last watched an episode of ‘ Farscape ’ and I ’ ve probably forgotten now more than I ever learned in regards to these characters and their stories and so for that reason I can definitely appreciate how my experience of this miniseries might have been slightly spoiled by my not remembering every crucial detail from the show. So if it ’ s within your means to watch each of the previous seasons of the programme before you begin this movie then I’d definitely recommend it- you’d probably get a lot more out of it that way.
(2) Some characters are missing and as the makers have clearly gone to a great deal of trouble to bring back so many characters, both the more and less prominent, it ’ s a shame that some are absent.
(3) The extras are pretty sparse- one documentary and some storyboards are the extent. I would have liked more.
(4) The English Subtitles are shockingly inaccurate throughout e.g. “ We ’ ve been hit ” instead of “ We ’ ve been here too long ” .
Good Points:
(1) The movie begins with a great deal of style, visual flare and dramatic tension, and gave me more than a couple of goose bumps- the opening credits and the accompanying voice-over have a real filmic quality and while this style isn ’ t really carried through into the rest of the movie, it does nonetheless act as a great hook.
(2) The score is superb.
(3) The make-up and set-designs are gorgeous.
(4) The ending is fitting (I ’ ll say no more).
Good/Bad Point:
During all Farscape’s years on television I don ’ t think there were ever as many phase pistol shots and missile launches as there are in this movie. The entire miniseries is one long battle punctuated by touching/shocking moments. Depending on your point of view, I suppose this could be either a good or bad thing. Personally, I would have preferred it to have been more segmented, so that the quieter moments would have contrasted better with the various weapons firing, because there’s very little time to absorb some often very consequential events. In that sense I would have appreciated a breather now and again, but you can ’ t have everything I guess.
In its four years on television ‘ Farscape ’ managed to provoke more discussion in Sci-Fi circles (and beyond) than most others manage in considerably longer runs- there was so much debate about each season, so much talk of how the various characters were developing over the years and much attention was paid to the increasingly complex and convoluted storylines. This is the magic of ‘ Farscape ’ for me…that it ’ s never been afraid to experiment, or stand out in the crowd, or mess with the sci-fi formula and the end result is something that in comparison to every other example of the genre is as ‘ out there ’ in the galaxy, as where John Crichton was accidentally transported more than a lifetime ago. For me personally, ‘ Farscape ’ was never a consistently outstanding series, but it was without doubt always enjoyable and the occasional flashes of brilliance it did provide were like opals on the seabed. ‘ The Peacekeeper Wars ’ is no exception.

Review for Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars [2005] (REGION 1) (NTSC):
The galaxy is our playground
I bought this Region 1 DVD because I wasn ’ t prepared to pay the price for the Region 2 DVD, which despite being just over 3 hours in duration and concluding one of my all-time favourite Sci-Fi series, I believe is way over priced. So I have no way of telling you how this DVD compares to the Region 2 European version, but what I can tell you is that I definitely wasn ’ t disappointed by the content of this final Farscape offering. And even though I still believe the Region 2 DVD is over priced, I must admit that I ’ d probably now be willing to pay that price (or something close to it) now that I ’ ve completed this DVD, because I am more than satisfied by its contents and will certainly be watching it again in the future. I had no expectations for how all the events of the fantastic previous seasons of ‘ Farscape ’ might be wrapped-up convincingly and enjoyably in this one-off miniseries, but I’m really pleased to say that almost all my expectations have been fulfilled.Bad Points:

Review for Farscape 1.5 [1999]:
These episodes takes Farscape to a new level, it's superb!
I just love Farscape, it's certainly the best sci-fi series I've come across in a very long time. These last four episodes of the first season are vibrating with energy. They reveal new layers of possibilities and cool stuff! The only problem as I see it, is that it's going to take forever until next season starts running!Farscape forever!

Review for Farscape 3.1 [1999]:
Series 3 was truly impressive, many plots and sub plots would leave many confused but Farscape always made it clear and wanting more, I remember the long time of waiting between series 2 and 3, I just hope they can keep on going.
Series 3 has many silly scenes that take place in Crichtons mind, the most memorable is the animated one that felt a bit off it usual high standards, but very enjoyable.
The Series is a Cult success and it's easy to see why, the start of Series 3 is everything you can hope for and more.
One last point to make out is the cost, I remember being put off by it, especially when it was TV first, but the extras you get are worth it, the deleted scenes make an episode fresh, but most of all there uncut, allowing for full enjoyment.
All fans of Farscape will no doubt want this, so be sure to get it soon and sit down for hours of frelling fun.

Farscape - need you say anymore, no but you want to.
I watched Farscape since Series 1, the first thing I thought was that it would be another sci-fi series to watch, as time went by it got better and better, hard to believe, the stories were mostly fresh and the effects left no concern about a sudden drop in quality, infact Farscape has always managed to convey it's aliens in a way you would think it was acceptable.Series 3 was truly impressive, many plots and sub plots would leave many confused but Farscape always made it clear and wanting more, I remember the long time of waiting between series 2 and 3, I just hope they can keep on going.

Review for Farscape 3.2 [1999]:
Fantastic Farscape!!!
This is VITAL sci-fi viewing!!! Catch up with Astronaught John Crichton Officer Aeryn Sun, Ka D'Argo, Chianna, Rygel, Jool, Stark, Crais, and the wonderfully Evil Scorpius in this the most recent Farscape DVD set (Season 3 set 2). If you haven't seen this wonderful series yet, then get a hold of the series 1 box set DVD and prepare to be amazed. I stumbled across this show by accident. Although I had previously heard of it, I dismissed it as another"Star Trek" yawnfest. I decided to give it a go and I'm so glad I did, because now I can't bear to miss it. This most recent DVD set again proves that it's the best thing on the box. It's funny, thrilling, touching and wonderful entertainment that doesn't insult the audience. Sci-Fi fans will revel in the truly stunning special effects (you'd think you were watching a big budget Hollywood production at times) and bizarre creatures that inhabit the Farscape universe. All the main cast are perfect and play off one another beautifully. It just seems to go from strenghth to strength as each season passes and it's very interesting to see how each season brings subtle changes to each character and how their feelings towards each other develop as a family. Catch the repeats on the Sci- Fi channel and see what the fuss is about. I promise you wont be disapointed. Very impressive all round! Long may it last.28
Review for Farscape 2.5 [1999]:
The set contains four episodes: The"Liars, Guns and Money" trilogy, which sees our heros having to rob a bank (well, a Shadow Depository) in order to obtain the cash to buy D'Argo's son out of slavery. Needless to say, things don't go quite according to plan, and the unexpected appearance of Crichton's nemesis - Scorpius - does nothing to help the sanity of Moya's crew...
"Die Me Dichotomy" is the last of Season 2, and is probably one of the most emotional episodes of Farscape yet seen. All is not well with Crichton, Scorpius' neural chip is not treating Crichton well, and events take a particularly tragic turn.
This DVD set is worth more than 5 stars; it shines above even the rest of the available Farscape box sets. It is, quite simply, story telling at it's absolute best. Buy it - you won't regret it.

Shocking...
I was already a confirmed Farscape addict long before this DVD became available, so this review may display just a small hint of bias... If you're a newcomer to 'scape, this DVD is probably not the best place to start - my recommendation is to go right back to the beginning of Season 1 and start there - one thing Farscape does really well is develop it's characters, so joining here would leave a whole slew of Farscape history unanswered. On the other hand, if you've seen a few, and you're not 100% sure whether to plump for actually buying a DVD, then cast your fears aside, and buy this one - because it contains quite possibly some of the best Farscape story telling seen so far.The set contains four episodes: The"Liars, Guns and Money" trilogy, which sees our heros having to rob a bank (well, a Shadow Depository) in order to obtain the cash to buy D'Argo's son out of slavery. Getting better
At the end of the first series, Farscape was begining to get good however the start of the second series was persoanlly a bit of let down however it seeems that the makers of Farscape have got things together and as the episodes progress, the better the second series becomes.32
Review for Farscape 3.5 [1999]:
The four set DVD opens with"I Yensch, You Yensch" where we find the resent diplomat Rygel, with D'Argo along for muscle, meeting Scorpius and Braca to hammer out details for the crew to go onto the command carrier. There is a side plot with the foursome being held hostage by some blue monkey guys, but some really great interaction between Scorpius and Rygel. In the"B" story Crichton, Aeryn and Crais must face the facts that young Talyn is seriously unstable and must be shutdown. A great tag line between Crichton and Aeryn which reflects both of their side of the pain they are facing.
The series really hits it stride with Into the Lions Den Part 1 and 2 as Moya's crew goes to the PK command carrier. Great interplay between Crichton and Scorpis and we also see Crais and Aeryn facing people from their past on the command carrier. It is our first meeting with Commandent Grayza and John learns about Scorpy's past. The ending is big-screen quality effects with a sense of loss and no accomplishment filtering through the ending.
It would seem the end of season three, but the Farscape gang has one heck of a cliffhanger in store with"Dog With Two Bones." The crew is preparing to go their seperate ways, but must complete a task before they can. Meanwhile, Crichton dreams of taking Aeryn to earth, and even sees them married. But as usual it is never what he wants or what it seems. It is our first meeting with The Old Woman and also the grand goodbye between Aeryn and Crichton, with a flip to the hands of fate to decide their actions. The end leaves Crichton as well as the audience floating.
Overall a smashing ending to a angst filled season three. I highly recommend this dvd, if for nothing else, the 10 minutes of deleted scenes from"Dog With Two Bones."

Simply getting better
Well, what can I say. This is the next box set in this great collection. This box set introduces Chiana, which is one of my favorate characters. Starts with her introduction in the first episode of the set and continues with her integration into the team of now veterain characters.
Not going to spoil the episodes by giving detailed events but well worth the watch. A great addition to the set, only bad this is that its only 4 episodes making room for a 5th box.
