Jamie makes cooking fun, exciting and very easy. Even if do not want to cook something, it is a good watch just to play the DVD.

Brilliant Guide to South Italian cooking

This is an excellent DVD. It gives you a taste of how to make Italian food and also gives you background information about different regions of Italy. Obviously it won't teach you how to make all the Southern dishes, but it gives you an idea of how to make some of the popular ones. Though most of us do not have wood burning ovens we could still make these dishes. The Dvd is based on an American TV series, as the presenter does say on occasions"after this break we see how to make...." However the break is just a few seconds, in any case you can pause your dvd and make a cup of tea if you wish since viewing it for 2 hours would be long in anyone's books. Also being of Italian extract I did find it difficult to understand her pronunciation of some Italian dishes. These Americans!!
Aside from that it does introduce you Southern Italy, a good place to shop for your groceries next time you want to make one of these dishes. The jam making receipt looked like too much work for me.
I also liked the fact that a mixture of chief/cooks from the different parts of Italy cooked their own dishes, it was not just the same person.
Shame I can't get hold of the Part 1 Northern Italian Dishes!!!!!

A Worthy Follow-up to the River Cottage series !

I somehow missed this series on the television. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this series about the style and the lavish lifestyle enjoyed by the" upper" classes during the Edwardian era.

If you enjoyed the River Cottage series then I don't doubt you would find this series equally enjoyable !

Loved it!!!

Two hours of great entertainment. The extra wedding footage and interview is a real bonus. This DVD will make a great pressy for any Naked chef fan, and even those that don't normally like Jamie will enjoy it! He is very funny and the recipes,atmospohere and music are captivating. Good value - buy it!!

Jamie is great!

I've been a fan of Jamie ever since I caught one episode of Oliver's Twists on the Food Network here in the US. His recipes are simple, but full of flavor. He has a great sense of humour, and is quite enjoyable to watch. As a warning though - this is actually a two-disc set, not the single disc stated above.
