I gave this DVD 1 star because I was feeling generous. This has got to be the worst cake DVD I have ever watched. Do not be tempted by what you see on the front of the cover, because these cakes are not featured. It is not very informative and is rather rushed. If you are a beginner at making cakes, a step by step approach is very helpful, sadly this DVD does not provide this very well. AIso it says that it offers a fail safe method and prevents cake disasters. By this I thought it would offer advice of how to stop cakes from ie doming and to slice cakes evenly in half etc. I was also hoping this DVD showed you how to ice and decorate cakes like the ones on the cover, which it did not. So all in all not a very well planned or thought out DVD.73

Unless you have absolutely no idea how to cook, this really is to be avoided. I was hoping for some tips from an expert, yet the 'chef' seemed to have got his training from a 'greasy spoon' and not a very good one at that. And although I find the likes of Jamie Oliver to be a little irritating at times, there really is no comparison in terms of skills and entertainment value!!!!75

gives you the basics
After years of watching delia I really wanted dvd showing all her series, i did read the reviews before buying and initially was unsure whether to puchase. I did go ahead and I must say that even though the clips dont run as a series most of the recipes are shown as outtakes of the programmes and still show delia at her best. I would have liked the dvd to run as programmes as it would make it a more enjoyable watch.
