wouldn't risk another too much hassle

Slow to arrive but looked great when it got to us. However the screen did not work so it went straight back to the supplier! We also bought the TV tuner but could not test it out. I was doubtful about it because it looked and felt cheap/poor quality. It was a time consuming hassle to return the product

Money well spent

This is a great buy for only £150.You get a TV,a DVD Player and 200 games.First off the TV quality is better than I expected although slightly fuzzy.I got all 4 terrestrial channels here in Ireland on it.The screen is nice and clear for DVDs and large enough too. DVDs play well and there were no errors for me.Although this is supposed to play DVD-RW and SVCDs it does neither.It just does normal DVDs,VCDs,CDs and MP3CDs.For the games the disc came in my box with 200 games on it.Just pop in the disc and a controller and choose from a list of the games.The games are excellent 8 bit classics.Overall this is great value and if you`re thinking of getting a portable DVD player this should be it.

Good but with some flaws

I've got the AC version which is identical except that rather than a slave screen it has 2 players that can be linked using the supplied cable to do the same as the AM version or can show 2 different movies.
Really good picture quality but I found it distorts the picture by stretching it horizontally. I couldn't find anyting in the Setup Menu to adjust this. I had to distort all my Divx movies by 1:1.287 Horz:Vert to get the correct aspect ratio. If using the USB you must use a pend drive that plugs directly into the player, using a cable just doesn't seem to work. Make sure the pen drive doesn't have a prominent light because this will be flashing away on the left side of the screen all through the movie. The speakers are a bit tinny and powerless, it's best to use headphones. The infrared Nextbase headphones worked OK but with a lot of background noise, presuamably from the headphones's amplifier; it's probably best to use corded headphones (it comes with in-ear headset but these aren't much use for children).

BEST Portable dvd player for car on market

I was so surprised when i got this DVD player. I bought one about a year ago. I was traveling to Europe and I needed something that could play all region dvds. This product is great! I love the fact that i could be used inside my car. My kids use it all the time now and I have my eyes on another one for myself.

Review Edit: A month after I wrote this review the player stopped working and had to be returned. I have changed the stars to one for this reason. I bought the Shinco player instead and it has been totally trouble free. A much better purchase in my opinion.

I chose this player over others in the same price range because I could be fairly sure from the product description that it has two headphone jacks. Yes, it does.

On the positive side, it works! and so does the rechargeable battery! The travel case construction is absurdly deluxe, and the player comes with more bells and whistles than a new Celica. The player is a mere featherweight and very comfortable to rest for hours on your lap. Even with the battery attached it is easy to handle.

On the not quite so positive side, there are some slightly"cheap" feeling qualities. The DVD won't stop spinning when you press Stop. Only after you actually open the disc cover does the motor stop, which is a bit unnerving, as you have to wait while it stops spinning, with the door open, before you can remove the disc. The speakers are tiddly, which is to be expected on such a small player. SO, the sound quality is tinny and very quiet. If you don't want to use the headphones you have to have the volume pretty much on max to be able to listen, even with no other ambient noise. BUT the earphones it comes with are the kind you stick in your ears, which are not comfortable to wear for the length of time you need them in to watch a film. I'd recommend using old fashioned headphones!

The remote control is an anomaly. Why on earth would you want a remote with a DVD player you wouldn't watch more than an arm's length away from you?? The remote did not come with a battery anyway, so I have not played with it. But really.......

I think these players will continue to come down in price as they become more popular. But if you want one now and you're not a particularly fussy customer, this one is a sweet little toy. I hope it lasts for years, but it will need gentle handling because it is so lightweight.
