Average machine
I bought this machine for about £100 around 2 years ago and thought what a bargain - Dual format recording and a good spec. However I have been let by the fact that mine only seems happy recording on DVD+, on the DVD- it loses the sound quality. Now, the biggest let down which many people don't seem to have picked up on is that this machine only records on a format specific to this brand, as recorded discs are not playable on other machines - not helpful if you have recorded that special wedding footage onto disc to then pass round to the family! Also when completing more than 2hr recordings the final copy ends up freezing or loses the sound. If you're thinking of buying this machine please think carefully, especially if your going to copy home video's etc onto disc hoping to watch them in the future but cannot due to the odd software this machine incorporates?

RDVD1000, problems
Budget priced dvd recorder, and that is what you get. Record quality is good, playback is also good. However, sometimes it will not recognise a disc it has recorded, only cure is to unplug. Another problem is sometimes when on timer recording, it will stop part way through, change channel and record to the end of the original time. Which is a shame as it is easy to use. Another problem is that if the RF signal input is anything but strong, then it does not see it.Manual recording is no problem, but the lack of being unable to set a otr stop time is a bit of a bind

do not buy this rubbish!
I bought one, its overcomplicated, the sound does'nt synch with my (samsung) TV, it switches itself off randomly. IT soon stopped working with dvd-rws...I had it repaired, now it won't record on any disc...the guarantee has now run out. Wish I had asked for my money back.Samsung are not the best customer service, similar problems with my fridge....once bitten....darn it!

Happy litle all rounder
Took everything I tried on it...including DivX files. No videoplus, but in reality I dont use it anyway. nice inclusion of camcorder input on front panel...access no problem. Smaller and more solidly built than I thought as well. Well done!
