This Vacuum Will Blow You Away !

Having been a dyson user for 5 years, I knew I wanted to buy another, but my old one was heavy to carry up the stairs, so when I saw the slim version weighing nearly half that of my own I had to have it. My new DC18 arrived within 2 days of ordering from Amazon, and I am so pleased with it. The hardest thing to do is get it out of the box - it's quite well packed in, putting it together is simple. It has surpassed my expectations, it has a unique rollerball type head and you can vacuum around a corner without moving ! In addition, because the head is smaller, it gets under the edge of all my furniture with ease. My carpets looked like they have been professionally cleaned, a huge improvement even on my old Dyson ! You can switch off the brushes to take in onto harder floors which is ideal, and even though I have a cat, it does a perfect job on the hairs without the need for the 'Animal' version. This vacuum is a must have for ladies, easy to carry up the stairs and it WILL impress the socks off you. Highly recommended :)

wow, quite simply an amazing pice of kit!

I had an older Dyson (DC04) but after using this it makes it look like I never cleaned the floor!! We have 2 cats and with the older model you could see the hair come up and all looked well. This one just tops it in every way, the carpet looks brand new, the air smells cleaner due the the alergy filter and to top it all off it's not a bad looking piece of kit! (well for a hoover anyway)

Great Suction - but no good on edges

The suction on the DC14 is the best ever. It picks up more dirt than my old Dyson. The suction is so strong that the vacuum cleaner is not advised to use on rugs with fringed edges. It will eat up the carpet fringes and make a loud piercing noise.

The vacuum cleaner is not good along edges. It's base is so big that it won't get under radiators and kitchen cupboards. You have to use the tool attachments. The use of the tools is awkward and slows down the process of vacuuming.

The machine is very heavy to cart up the stairs as well as heavy to operate.

If it wasn't for the fantastic suction, I would get a different machine. I just don't understand why Dyson has to make the machine so awkard to operate.

Brilliant - never going back to another brand!

This is the first time I have purchased a Dyson having avoided them for years, now I am definatley a Dyson convert after just a few months and will not go back to purchasing any other type of cleaner.

Even though your carpets look clean, it is unbelievable how much it actually picks up. - Easy to use on varying floor coverings and a doddle on the stairs (you can leave it at the bottom and the hose reaches all the way to the top). Oh and the filters are all washable - so no worrying about replacing bags or filters an extra bonus!.

My husband even likes using the cleaner (definately a break-through for all women! and even my two year old takes a keen interest in it)

This is the cheapest price I have found for this model - and I did look around, and first class service from Amazon as always
