Works, but it's a Resource Hog

The sweep feature finds and destroys spyware very effectively. The various"shields", on the other hand, gobble up cpu and memory, and Spy Sweeper does not play well with Norton Internet Security. I think any machine with less than 500 mb of RAM is going to choke on this program. I have 512 mb and I had to turn off SpySweeper's keylogger shield to make my PC usable at all.
Bottom line: the sweep works well, and you can set it to run late at night when you don't care that the machine is too busy to pay attention to you. The screens may work OK, but they might slow your PC down quite a lot if you don't have a ton of RAM and a fast machine. Turning them off one by one eventually solves the problem, but like Captain Kirk, you might not feel secure with your screens down.

Disaster

There was no instruction manual and no installation code on either the cd rom or the confirmation email as promised. The helpline eventually emailed me an installation code. After installation I could not access the manual for instructions. In fact only one option was available as the messages said not available on trying to access options. Another email told me just to use"clean" which I did. The original intention was to erase all internet history. The software erased all my data files and photographs and crashed the computer altogether. PC World could not retrieve anything but did manage to restore the systems to factory settings. This was a disastrous and costly exercise and I hope the retailers take note.
