Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly (GameCube)

Used Price: £4.86
New Price: £13.89

Review for Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly (GameCube):
Spyro makes his 128bit nintendo debut.
Spyro the dragonfly makes his debut on to the gamecube. This game is quite tough in someplaces for the younger gamer but it is worth the purchase if you are a platforming fan. The graphics are not the best on the next generation console but the gameplay can be quite rewarding, at times the game does go slow when you're running with spyro and the camera angle is poor at times. Not my favorite gamecube game and certainly not my worst worth purchasing for the platform fan, a spyro fan, or for the right price.

CRAZY TAXI !!!!! WOW!!!!
This game is highly addictive. it takes a little while to learn how to control the taxi proerly for example knowing the right sequence & timing to make the taxi boost.i have played the game on the arcades & find it has been converted to the home console very well.i must admit that the graphics are good but by todays standards are pretty average very much along the lines of the dreamcast version. i would highly recommend this game & a must for all gamecube owners.

Review for Shrek 2 (GameCube):
SHREK IS NO 'PAIN IN THE NECK'
AFTER BEING A LITTLE SCEPTICAL ABOUT THE TITLE OF THIS GAME AS I A, WELL, HOW CAN I PUT IT, A LITTLE OLDER THAN THE AGE RANGE LISTED ON THE GAME BOX, I SAT DOWN AND BEGAN TO PLAY. AFTER BEING A GREAT FAN OF THE 1ST MOVIE I WAS UNSURE OF WHAT TO EXPECT DUE TO THE 2ND MOVIE NOT BEING RELEASED UNTIL A NUMBER OF WEEKS AFTER THE GAMES WAS ISUED. TO MY SURPRISE, THERE WAS ABSOLUTLY NOTHING TO HAVE WORRIED ABOUT. THE GAMEPLAY WAS FAST AND FURIOUS, YOU HAD FULL CONTROL OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS SIMULTANIOUSLY, (4 IN ALL) EACH WITH THEIR OWN SPECIAL MOVES AND ABILITIES BUT DONT LET THIS PUT YOU OFF IT IN ANY WAY. THE GAME IS VERY EASY TO CONTROL AND WILL HAVE YOU HOOKED FOR MANY HOURS DUE TO THE COMIC COMMENTS FROM THE CAST WHICH WE HAVE COME TO KNOW AND LOVE FROM THE MOVIES....2 THUMBS UP !

Star Wars: Bounty Hunter

Used Price: £6.99
New Price: £29.99

Review for Star Wars: Bounty Hunter:
Star Wars Bounty Hunter
This game is a pure classic. Having played the import version, I can say that it is a welcome relief to running around in a cloak witha lightsabre. Playing as a Bounty Hunter is great fun. Not only do you have primary objectives, but secondary bounties as well. And you have a huge range of weaponry at your disposal to get the job done. Flamethrowers, pistols, Whipcord, machineguns, and the inevitable Sniper Rifle. And there is a puzzle element to the game aswell. The levels are huge, and you often find yourself in a place with no way out and no way to go back the way you came, but if you keep looking, you'll find a way out. This game will apeal to anyone who liked Episode 2, and It may appeal to people who aren't too keen on Star Wars either.

Call of Duty: Finest Hour (GameCube)

Used Price: £5.47
New Price: £9.98

Review for Call of Duty: Finest Hour (GameCube):
Enemy At The Gates...
I believe that you are either an MOH man or CoD man, I am an MOH man and gave CoD a chance to rise above MOH and quite frankly it rises like soufflé.

It was all good gravy loading the game and getting ready to land on the shore in the first mission, but the graphics were archetypical Activision and took me back to the halcyon days of the N64, which the graphics resembled.

I thought the gameplay was slow and the graphics fused with the background on many occasions and trying to focus on one thing at a time was impossible. The guns were pseudo realistic but the sound was uncanny.

The characters were straight out of a Bond film, the Russians sounding like they had escaped from The Hunt For Red October, The Brits who all sound like Brian Blessed and with the Americans I was waiting on them stating that 'they never watched there buddies die face down for this'.

Not bad but not particularly good either, but still worth a go. Don't buy this direct, purchase it from ebay or a second hand games shop, you'll enjoy it better.

Better the second time around.
Genre: action adventure

This game is actually pretty slick. Its one of those things you can appreciate more the second time around. Sonic Heroes introduces a whole new battle system, switching between; power formation, speed formation, and flight formation.

Lifespan: about 20+ hours
gameplay: 9/10
sound track: 9/10
multi player mode: 8/10

I think that this i quite a good game and i would recomend it to any sonic fan.

Super Monkey Ball 2

Used Price: £5.99
New Price: £39.98

Review for Super Monkey Ball 2:
Fantastic sequal, many months of fun to be had!
I agree that this sequal is a mixed bag. I dont however think that it deserves scores as low as 2 stars. That would be a great insult to a class game. Basically if you loved the first one you will be delighted an disappointed with this at the same time. It improves on the original in some aspects but others are worse.

1 Player:
The story mode is very mad and completely insane. But if you take it for what it is it is very funny in a stupid kind of way. Its definately challenging but the progression is odd due to the mixed difficulties found. And it is basically just a vamped up practice mode. Its also annoying that the levels concentrate more on luck rather than pure skill. However you cant accuse it of being a rehash of the original, due to this different focus it appeals to a different audience or people wanting something slightly different.
In single player the unlockable mini games you have to unlock will be fun for a while but you will get bored in no time. The lifespan of the single player game is about 2 weeks. Which is average for games now so this is fine.

Multiplayer

This is where the games real longevity is. I bought this game purely because you can player monkey target with 4 people at once rather than taking it in turns like in monkey ball 1. This for me warrents the price tag. Me and my mates STILL play monkey target despite having this game for about 2 years now! Nothing like coming home drunk and having a good monkey sesh til the wee hours! The monkey billiards has more options now (such as classic pool, and a points based japanese 9 ball), which is nice but to be honest i prefer the original as does my girlfriend. Most of the other mini games are ok for a few games but thats all. They're nothing fantastic. If you have some mates who like gaming its essential you buy this game. Monkey race, Monkey Target and Monkey fight are worth the money alone. In 4 player its the best fun you'l ever have!

James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing (GameCube)

Review for James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing (GameCube):
Fun but to hard
This game sounded mint, and it was the first 7 or 8 levels (very short levels). You go on a bike, in a car, helicopter, and a tank in the first 5 or 6 levels. The gadgets r great.
But it eventually gets extremely hard.
The graphics r good and the levels fun anough u want 2 do them again (and u can). The multiplayer is a bit dissapointing but is fun if u can actually do it.

WWE WrestleMania XIX

Our Price: £25.99 & this item Delivered FREE in the UK with Super Saver Delivery. See details & conditions
Used Price: £7.69
New Price: £25.98

Review for WWE WrestleMania XIX:
The Bottom Line
So a while back i brought a gamecube because i was xcited by how gd wrestlemania X8 would be, considerin how successful the smackdown series of games were/are. And it was very dismal

But now theres wrestlemania XIX which could well be considered better than any other wrestling games ever! The Characters 1st of all are extremely detailed, especially"main event" superstars such as Stone Cold, The Rock and Undertaker. Entrances are fantastuc and spectacular. Moves can be modified and even if they are heels (bad guys) or babyfaces (good guys) can be edited! New characters also make an appearance in perfect quality such as Goldberg, Rey Mysterio and John Cena. Unfortunately old favourties that stil make an appearance such as the APA and Kevin Nash don't make an appearance in the game.

The Exhibition (random fights with whoever you want) has the usual matches such as single, tag, 3way, 4way, royal rumble, king of the ring, which leads into 2 more menus describing the rules (DQ, first blood, timer) and if theres a ladder, cage, hell in a cell ..etc...

Revenge' mode is the story mode of the game and is more like a beat'm'up than a true wrestling storyline. However this is an original idea that i welcomed and found sometimes funny and sometimes tough to play. It's all built on the idea of geting Revenge at Vince McMahon the WWE boss for him kicking you out of the WWE, in backstage areas and then finally @Wrestlemania itself.

Tutorial mode is lengthy and abit boring, however it is hosted by Al Snow and shows you how to do all advanced moves, holds and blocks.

Create-a-wrestler mode is the best i've ever seen! You can draw your own logos to go on the wrestlers and choose every detail of the character such as the size of their nose and shape, or the lighting effects at different points in their entrance!

ShopZone is added from 'No Mercy' where you must earn £££ in Revenge mode to buy new weapons, clothes, and ability points, etc...

The Engine used for wrestling in and out of the ring is easily the most beautiful, and works very well with the gamecube controller. For example there are now weak grapples (similar to smackdown 4) and strong grapples (no mercy), where you an punch and knee the person in a variety of ways while holding them in the grapple. Specials are executed by A + B after delivering your special taunt which excites the crowd and scares your opponent :).

Overall a MUST for a wrestling fan, especially WWE, a GOOD choice for someone who likes beat'm'ups, and a definite NO to anyone who likes britneys dance machine on playstation!

GameCube Controller Extension Cable

Used Price: £1.75
New Price: £2.95

Review for GameCube Controller Extension Cable:
Mmmmm...more cable...
We all hate it when you get so engrossed in a game that your sending the controller all around the place in your hands, and suddenly, you yank to hard, and your gamecube comes flying towards you, invariably leading our little wondercube to stop the game, 99% of the time at the exact moment your about to finish the level.
well, with this little critter, it's a thing of the past, it'll give you a honking great big lead, and if you want to sit even further away than the lead allows, no problem, just hook up another, and hey presto, one majorly long lead.
And if your really adventerous (and have a really big tv), you can play it down the bottom of your garden...

Mario Party 5

Used Price: £10.50
New Price: £28.97

Review for Mario Party 5:
mario party 5 review
Mario party 5 is the second gamecube istalment of nintendo's multiplayer smash. Being number 5, it could be thought that the game will feel old. Not true.

The major change with this instalment is the rehashed single player mode. The single player has always been mario partys down fall. With a single map lasting over an hour, failure was extreemly annoying, this has been altered so that now a typical story mode map lasts around 15 mins. For some this may be disserpointing, but a standard map can still be played with 3 cpu comtroled rivals, so its not like your missing anything is it?

Multiplayer is were the game really shines. the same old collect the stars routine is still the order of the day, but the borads have been changed to make it far easier to get a star, which makes the comotion far more close, as in the previous (and possibly weakest) instalment, the typicaly 20 turn game would end with around 3 stars bought overall. now there is norm aly at least 3 per player, as smaller boreds make high scoring easy.

There have been several changes in the game, the most bizzar is that DK is no longer selecatable. Though he does appare and have a special space which leads to events, it seems odd that a different nintendo caracter was not used. But with DK leaving, baby bowser, toad and strangly Boo are now controlable, which gives players more choice, though none of these are as popular as DK.

The second major diffrence is that items shops are no longer used. Instead, a capsual machine deals you a rondom item that you can either place on the bored to be used on who ever lands on it, or pay to use it on your self. This can seem frustrating at first, parcicularly when you have a large amount of coins and want to be able to buy a short cut to the star, but after a while, it becomes clear that it makes the game more competative. No longer do the rich rule the game.

The mini games are always the most important aspect of mario party, and 5 has a good deal of corkers, wether your racing up a beanstalk, trying to make your ice cream the biggest or seeing how close you dare let a chomp get to you, its always good fun. the mini games are mostly very good, there are a few small exceptions, but for the most part, the games are simple but fun, and you will soon find a favorite.

The biggest improvment from 4 to 5 is the boards. In 4, these were all rather dull with bland set peices and little going on. 5 returns them to there glory, with colourful back grounds, and well thought out events. The boards now all seem to have a good helping of the nintendo charm and magic that the company is famous for.

In conclushion, mario party 5 is a great party game, though on your own it feels a little dull at times, its a great social experience, with alliences and back stabbing worth of a reality TV show. If only the costumes from mario party 2 remained.

Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc (GameCube)

Used Price: £4.00
New Price: £34.99

Review for Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc (GameCube):
RAYMANS BEST ADVENTURE IS HERE
This is the best Rayman adventure yet, all the classic characters Murfy,Globox and Rayman are back along with plenty new characters. The graphics are great and all the characters have a proper voice, which they didn't have in the previous games. This game even has abit of humour in it, ie when Rayman falls into a witch's bathroom and she says that he should be ashamed. This game has long levels and bosses. It also has extra's that you can eventually unlock. The only flaw in this game is the camera angles, they can get annoying when your doing a hard part in the game. Overall, this is a good game and people who like adventure games should buy this now.

Timesplitters - Future Perfect (GameCube)

Used Price: £19.90
New Price: £29.95

Review for Timesplitters - Future Perfect (GameCube):
excellent ignore negative feedbacks
this is one of the best shoot’em ups ever.if you have timesplitters 2,you will not be disappointed.the story mode has so much more depth and less cartoony levels and better graphics.there are now 150 characters to play(basically all have to be unlocked),new arcade levels including mexican mission, training ground and chinese restaraunt from the TPS2.you can even drive vehicles!new weapons and characters(including old ones like monkey, snowman, gingerbreadman etc.)

the only bad things I can think of are that there is only 1 type of timesplitter, and the mapmaker.
the mapmaker is still pretty good, but you can onluy play with 8 bots on the maps you have made!
to summarise,BUY THIS GAME IF YOU LIKE SHOOT’EM UPS!
