Bought one of these and it worked for one day before the motor blew up. Okay I have a large garden but it really did struggle at the slightest pile of leaves and before the day was out I had the burnt smell of death followed by one non functional leaf vac. Got a refund as it was less than two days old and went back to my old compost heap. If you have a small yard with a few little bits to pick up then this would probably do. However if you have a bit of work then forget it.5

Doesn't do what is says on the box
Like all the B&D products I've bought, this disappoints. Constantly breaking down, you would be better off with a scythe. Simply doesn't work if you are expecting to get out there and strim for an hour. B&D should do a lot more to deliver a quality product, not this badly-engineered failure.8

Please wait, save your money and buy a more expensive make in a couple of years time. In fairness the engine starts well and runs well and is relatively light but the hedge cutter attachment worked for 10 minutes before needing to be taken apart and fixed only to break again requiring an hours hard work in my own workshop to amend the cheap engineering design. As for the pruner? give it 5 seconds on a thin branch and the chain comes off, personally its lethal and I refuse to use the pruner as I consider it a death trap. Its cheap and value for a reason, because it looks the part but doesnt do the job, wait spend more and get a tool that does!9

When taking it back to a dealer under the warranty he said that B&D are reknowned for poor quality and he sees loads of them!
I won't be buying any B&D products again.

Useless product
Reading the experience of the reviewer above was very familair. I had the same problem - chunks of line distributed around my garden within 30 minutes of using it. Replacing the spool was very fiddly, only for the same thing to happen again almost immediately!In addition the motor cut out occasionally for no apparent reason.

Black & Decker products designed to fall apart
I have been buying Black & Decker products for too long. Their garden products are designed to last 2 to 3 years only. This was told to me by the manager of a large DIY chain when I complained about the frequent failure rate of the B & D products.Don't waste your money on this rubbish - do some research and buy something sturdier which is made to last.
