Had this for 2 weeks now. The mouse appears to be eating the food then escaping the trap!

Update - 28-06-08

I have now had the aerogarden for one week, and one of the bulbs has failed. Having read the other reviews this has shaken my confidence considerably in this product. Have contacted the manafaturer and asked for a replacement.

About a year ago I became aware of the aerogarden, and have been considering getting one for some time.

Well, I have now bitten the bullet and can report that I am more than happy with the unit. I am growing the gourmet herbs, but am considering a second aerogarden to grow chillies.

It is very easy to set up the unit which is larger than one might first think, (so check you have room for it!) They have a wall mounted stainless teel shelf available for it which seems an interesting idea.

The good things.

*It is easy to assemble.
*It takes all the guess work out of watering
*It is easy to operate
*You can alter when the lights come on and turn off
*There is a UK internet forum for support

If you buy extra things...

*You can have it on its own shelf
*You can buy something called a master gardener kit allowing you to grow any seeds in the unit, (I am wondering about this and growing seven different types of chilli)

The bad things

*It does make a noise when it is circulating its water, not a loud noise but one you are just aware of
*The bulbs are quite expensive (£18 including postage for two) and have to be replaced every six months.
*It takes up quite a lot of room

Overall though I am delighted with my garden.

I think it is a wonderful idea, highly recommended.

And no before you ask I do not work for aerogarden!

Hi-Lo Plant Hanger

This is a wonderful item. It makes plant watering and maintenance so easy. If you haven't tried it, you should. I'm getting ready to order 4 more! It's especially great for hanging plants and bird feeders in trees. You no longer have to make a major effort to water plants or fill feeders. Great for gardeners and birders.

Havahart 1025 Trap

This trap is much too weak and too small for a fully-grown grey squirrel. Having bought one and caught nothing in three weeks (although the bait had gone) I was fortunate enough to witness what happened. The squirrel entered the trap and was able to take the bait whilst the door just descended onto his back. When he had finished, he just backed out. Because the door had not been able to go right down, it could not lock. In America, where this trap is made, it is legal just to relocate the animals and so it is designed to use the least force possible on the door spring.

It is, therefore, not surprising that Amazon claim that many people who bought this trap, go on to buy a larger model with a stronger spring (as I have done).
