Review for Wii Fit (Wii):
It is a real shame that it has no way of changing the phrasing for people under a certain age, as after all the whole point of this game is to encourage people who need it to exercise. In my opinion it spoils what could be a fantastic game.

Review for Wii Fit (Wii):
Watch the young ones!!
This is a fantastic games idea that is really let down by the fact that it uses BMI to work out what fitness level you are at. This is not accurate on Children and it promplty told my 10 year old daughter that she was obese!! - Not the type of message that young impressionable girls (and boys for that matter) should be getting. (Just for the record, my daughter isn't even slightly overweight for her height)It is a real shame that it has no way of changing the phrasing for people under a certain age, as after all the whole point of this game is to encourage people who need it to exercise. In my opinion it spoils what could be a fantastic game.

Review for Nintendo Wii Console (Includes Wii Sports):
Last weekend I played Wii Fit, loved it and decided that perhaps being the graphics and state of the art whore that I am maybe my 2 days with the Wii prior to selling were misjudged. Needless to say Mario and Sonic Olympics, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart and WiiFit later Im hooked.
Yes it isn't in the HD leagues of Xbox 360 or PS3, yes it can't pay DVD's or CD's, yes the control method is a bit gimmacky, yes it's not Blu Ray, the list goes on.
But what this console has that the other titans lack is a bit of a soul, it draws you in with the Mii creation, Wii Channels, Wii Store and all those classic games from your childhood (in my case). OnLine works a treat, lag...., not seen anything yet and both the 360 and PS3 have that more often than not.
Was I too quick to judge, hmm, no, at the time with the games out I was probably correct to sell it, now would I be right?, NO, this has already got some classic games and more in the pipeline.
Guys if you like playing consoles and would like a hassle free life this console is the only one that I have ever played with my girlfriend for more than 2 minutes. It is easy to pick up and play and the games are designed to be easily accessable but difficult to master.
Alas convincing the other half that Metal Gear Solid 4 is great was met with the usual it's to complicated, but it looks really nice though, lovely... Im bored.....
Whilst the PS3 and 360 both are powerhouses each with certain ad's and dis the Wii is just pure fun. Would I be without a PS3 or 360?, No, if I wannt state of the art HD ready consoles for say MGS4 or Call of Duty 4 to show off my LCD HD then they come out to play, but if I want fun with mates, sink a few beers and have a laugh, it's Wii all the way!!!!

It's got Soul and something else, gameplay in abundance
I own a PS3 and have owned an XBox 360 and also a Wii when it first came out. I sold it back then and sitting next to the Xbox 360 at the time the graphics weren't that great in comparasion, the games out where fairly poor and the sports sim was well a demo which fast became boring.Last weekend I played Wii Fit, loved it and decided that perhaps being the graphics and state of the art whore that I am maybe my 2 days with the Wii prior to selling were misjudged. Review for Nintendo Wii Nunchuk Controller add-on (Wii):
But never being one to miss the opportunity to have a moan I thought I'd climb on my soap box and point out it's faults. Go on, read my rant before you click the `unhelpful button'.
The nun-chuck is over priced at £15. Infact Wii owners shouldn't have to pay for it at all. The Wii Remote is half a controller without this. It's a rip that you have to pay out £45 for 2 bits of kit just to get an extra player. This gives Wii the most expensive console controllers ever, which is just silly.
Price aside, the nun-chuck ain't that great. It feels to light for one thing, and what's with the wire and the lack of rumbles? A wireless rumbling Wii nun-chuck might be worth £15, but not this bland piece of plastic.
The nun-chuck is a reliable controller but it could be a lot better, and cheaper. Do buy one, but don't forget to do so begrudgingly ;-)
Oh and parents, make sure your kid actually wants to play games that require an extra nun-chuck before you buy. If all they want is multi player Tennis this won't be necessary.

Over priced and under whelming - a missed opportunity
The nun-chuck does the job you want it for: controlling Wii games that need it like Wii Sports Boxing, FPS games like Metroid, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor etc, and a few others. You know this because you got one bundled with your Wii and you only want to buy another one so you can play these games against a friend. So go ahead and buy one.But never being one to miss the opportunity to have a moan I thought I'd climb on my soap box and point out it's faults. you won't regret this buy
It took me around 6-7 months to decide whether to buy the xbox360 or the PS3. My younger brothers have the xbox which is a fantastic machine with brilliant exclusives and great online play, I'd say the same for the PS3. the reason that I chose this console over the xbox is I believe it to be future proof. fantastic buy.8
Review for Lego: Indiana Jones (Wii):
As a sequel (in the loosest sense of the word) to the immense Lego Star Wars (LSW), Lucasarts - as the designers - knew it had a lot to live up to.
Using the same formula that made LSW so enthralling and utterly hilarious - the amusing cut scenes, the ridiculous use of Lego on everything and anything, and the ease of a second player joining - Lego Indiana Jones builds on this and well, does little to change it. The lack of change though is not necessarily a bad thing - many sequels have failed trying to 'improve' an already successful game.
However, despite Lego Indiana Jones adding new items and techniques (for example Indiana's whip as opposed to lightsabers) many gamers will feel let down by the little change to LSW, but also many others may feel that despite the lack of change, it is still a masterpiece of a game.
I personally enjoyed the game right up until completion, but felt no need to return to unlock everything else.

Work out for the grey matter
I gotta tell you I love this game. It puts fun into maths, it's very clever, and it does actually encourage you to give your brain a bit of a workout instead of sticking the telly on straight away. It's also easy to use with simple instructions.10
Review for Nintendo Wii Controller (Wii):
I would welcome a reduction in the price by nintendo to make the additional wiimotes more accessible for more people. Your looking at the best part of £150 to get 3 more wiimotes and nunchucks required for 4 player mode. I have got 4 and it really does make play more fun and allow more people to join in.

Essential to get the most out of your wii but far too expensive
You only get one wiimote in the standard kit wii console and while this is a fantastic controller hence why I have given it 5 stars for fun I think it is over priced as unlike other consoles there is no 'after market' 3rd part alternatives that are cheaper.I would welcome a reduction in the price by nintendo to make the additional wiimotes more accessible for more people. Review for Wii Play (includes Wiimote controller) (Wii):
Wii Play IS worth buying - you get a free remote! But what's even better than that? They give you the batteries! Okay, so they're not rechargable, but how many people actually supply those sort of things 'free' these days?
The games are simple, but you have to unlock each one in turn - it coaches you through at first (and every time you add a new player from the Mii Channel). You can poke at the players in the main menu and they react, some Mii's in the background go swimming by (literally). My personal favourite is the cow racing - pure genius in my opinion, I mean, jumping, squeaking cows jumping hurdles and hitting scarecrows! It's simple fun everyone (and I mean everyone) can enjoy. The wiimote is showcased here, but if you're really in to this sort of thing, then I'd recommend Mario Smooth moves.

Great gamer for all
The first thing that struck me about the Wii in general was that one of the first times I ever found myself playing it, my grandma (who is 70+), my brother (17), myself (22) and my niece (3) were all playing the same game (wii sports).Wii Play IS worth buying - you get a free remote! But what's even better than that? They give you the batteries! Okay, so they're not rechargable, but how many people actually supply those sort of things 'free' these days?

Review for Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii):
This game is great fun for you and your mates (and family if you have to) to play, if you are competitive it will cause many an argument on how your controllers don't seem to be responding as fast as your friends etc and you will be thinking up many more excuses unless you keep winning...
Pros:- Great multiplayer fun, something for everyone even the oldies
Cons:- There are plenty of events but you end wanting more, aching arms are unavoidable.... as is looking like a fool to your nosey neighbours peering in the window whilst you thrash the controllers up and down at breakneck speed!

Review for Xbox 360 Console (20 GB Hard Drive):
THUMBS UP
.........
- The GPU (Graphics Unit in English) is the most powerful on the market, and is living up to it's potentinal in style with stunning games like Project Gotham Racing. Combined with your flat screen HD TV, we can't get enough of just how crisp the games look. It's sufficient to say a HD TV is required to get the most of the graphics.
Don't be fooled by the smooth talk and clever branding of Sony - it's all Eye Candy. Their patriotically named"Cell Processor" is only the CPU. Which, if you don't know, is the brain of the computer (like a massive calculator)... hence, it only delivers faster gameplay; NOT better looking gameplay....
- The controller is a step-up from the original Xbox, and doesn't have that chunky feeling. It feels more like a good ol' Dreamcast controller actually!
- The 360 Dashboard (main console menu) is very easy to use and can be customised with a combination of on-board options, and if you're clever enough, a few little secrets! (YouTube is the best inspiration).
- I personally have found the 20 GB HDD quite adequate for medium gameplay. I am NOT a hardcore gamer; 20 GB is perfectly fine for game saves and some music. Unless you'll be downloading from Xbox Live, it really is fine.
- Games; they're starting to come thick and fast, but more importantly, they're making good use of the console.
- Online; Need I say anymore?
- Price; Is this a good deal or not?
LOGICAL PROBLEMS
(Logic means nothing to Microsfot, for that matter...)
................
- They still haven't changed the disc drive. When it's spinning fast (Cheese grating time for the laser head) then it reminds me of jetting off to Bulgaria a few weeks ago... You get the idea!
- With the Elite a small price more, is it worth paying for the bigger HDD? Only if you're a Media user.
- Reliability - only a problem if you like playing Video Games for hours a day in a HOT, UN-OPEN area... (Hint-Hint for some of you lot...)
- Games - In my opinion, still alot of money. But that's a personal opinion.
The Xbox 360 is a tough nut to crack. Is it worth buying for a few 'good' games?... Will you make the most of the online service? (If you're not familiar with online gaming, that is)... In my opinion, this is the best valued combination of Gaming/Media usage at the moment. I believe if the PS3 was such good value, with regards to it's supposedly fabulous"Blue Ray" player, then why are they selling them for Buy One Get One Free in Woolworths? Is it worth paying 20 quid for a film?
My thoughts only - you make your own mind up.

Under-rated console
I'm not going to blab on, purely because everyone has said their thoughts (among, densely, the facts without fan-boy tosh) and because as a buyer, I'm sure you're more likely to read the reviews straight to the point, rather than"I like this console because Xbox's are great" blah blah...THUMBS UP

Review for More Brain Training (Nintendo DS):
The training programs are more varied and enjoyable than the previous game's. Some of the challenges include unscrambling words, remembering numbers and even playing a musical piece. However, I did find a couple of the games tedious. There are also again plenty of free or assisted Sudoku puzzles and a hidden mini-game which is quite addictive.
One of the big irritations from the previous game remains - poor handwriting recognition. As well as numbers, you will have to write symbols and letters, which the game may often fail to understand! Voice recognition is also a bit unreliable on the Rock, Paper, Scissors game.
All the training programs can be unlocked in only about 2 weeks of daily playing, so you may not have much motivation to keep training afterwards. I suppose though players might also give up if they were not rewarded so regularly! You may also get irritated by Dr Kawashima with his reptitive comments after every session, Some are even the same as in the first game.
If you enjoyed the first Brain Training game, you should like this one too! If you don't have either, I would recommend buying both games. Whilst I think overall the second is better, I prefer the warm-up games and Brain Age tests in the previous.

when i got this i heard on the ONM forum about the laser problems and was panicked by them. but mine works so i'm happy!before brawl came out my friends and i played melee for 4, near 5 years and were addicted.
now brawl.....
classic - this is where i started. this mode comprises of you fighting your way through a lineup of challenges, and some (like the final challenge) are more difficult than others. this is where you will meet new characters and fight to face them.
subspace emissary - a real adventure. a side-(and up and down) scrolling part to the game where you will unlock music, trophies and characters. this may be one of the best ideas EVER put into a smash bros game and is a real challenge with wonderful cut scenes and your actions decide your story.
a new form of powerups and collectable items are stickers which can power up your character in this mode!
Brawl - basically the vs mode for against mates in the room and cpu opponents. also a way to unlock stuff!
wifi - apart from lag at times, this is the biggest reason to have the wii connected to the internet! you can have random matches from people around the world, or against friends. and if you decide you need a break, you can bet some of your coins earned in the game on spectator mode, where you place bets on who will win a match.
graphics - amazing, especially with a proper component cable on an lcd!
gameplay - 4 control methods ( i chose to go with gamecube controller as it is what im used to)
best bits - wifi, assist trophies and the subspace. amazing stages to brawl on!
my only complaint (and a minor one) - lag during wifi.
there is also a snapshot mode built in to the pause menu which means any funny pics created when paused can be saved to the wii or an sd card, 2gb recommended. from the album they can be sent to other friends wii's. i already have some funny ones.
my first reaction - WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
if you have a wii, this is an essential buy, whether a casual or dedicated gamer! you will have many hours of fun and will bring you back for years to come, much like its predecessors. believe me and other gamers, this game is worth the wait! it wont leave the wii for around 6 months now!
