Great camera but will it be reliable?

I've bought Sony cameras because I believed they had a reputation for reliability, however both this and my previous Sony have both gone faulty within the guarantee period. This camera let me down on a once in a lifetime holiday. Sony are repairing but the memories are lost for ever. My personal experience therefore is that Sony do not make reliable cameras and I would not buy another Sony camera based on this.

when i first got it i thought it will be so so rubbish then when i kept on using it it was getting fun you have to buy it

great little camera

super little camera for filming water activities, great for sailing, scuba diving (100ft waterproof) and perfect for filming your mates messing in the sea, we have loads of good surf photos and video we would never have normally got, just have a nosy under GoPro surf on youtube for some examples.

Video and under water sound is the most amazing thing for something so reasonably priced.

Do Not Buy

This is the worst camera I have ever used!
It drains the battery, space for pictures is really low.
Picture quality is terrible!
It feels cheaply made, luckily I did not buy it, it was given as a prize at an event I attended.

My advice, do not get this camera!

Missing UK adapter

Great camera but in my box there was no adapter to enable the camera to be charged up in the UK...just a two-pin Euro plug. Worth checking you can get hold of one, or if there is one included in your order. Luckily I had an adaptor already or daughter would have had camera she could not use on christmas day.

Seriously??

Just look at it, do you realy want to buy somthing that looks like a reject from a bad sci-fi movie. there are many camras by better brands Cannon for instance for the same price and twice the megapixles...sigh

Utter Rubbish

I bought 2 of these - one lasted 6 days, the other lasted 9. Terrible picture quality - in fact its just terrible in every way. I had used an earlier Vivitar model and it was excellent, and these were such a disappointment

A super camera for photography enthusiasts

I started off with the very basic Fuji finepix 1300 and soon upgraded to a Canon Powershot A60. The A60 was a superb camera but as I got more interested in photography I realised its limitations. The next step up was a bridge camera and after a lot of research I chose the S602. I really can't praise this camera highly enough; the long zoom lens(6x optical) is superb; great in all lighting conditions and produces clean, crisp images every time. In auto mode it is a very fast point and shoot, and to be honest most of the time I find it totally satisfactory to leave the camera in auto mode. But for specialist shots the manual modes allow total control over everything. The electronic viewfinder is great - no more squinting at feint LCD monitor screen when in bright sunlight, I also find that holding the camera at eyelevel like a conventional film camera means far less camera shake. The camera has two card slots; I use mainly CF cards but it's handy to know I have a backup memory card in the camera ready to go if the main card runs low. Other similar cameras often use their own batteries where as this uses AA size. At the time this had pros and cons as the proprietry Li-ion batteries generally had higher capacity than rechargable AA's but recently even AA batteries have plenty of capacity (a set of 2500mAh NiMH AAs last for ages) so it's not so much of an issue. The best bit is if your batteries run out on a holiday trip you can buy a backup set of AA's anywhere!
I've had the S602 about 3 years now and have considered upgrading but decided against it. The next step up is a dSLR but so far I have yet to find one that is as lightweight as the S602 - and they don't take movie clips! The S602 can record up to 6 megapixels which by todays standards isn't huge but as you will find out if you do your research the only people who really care about megapixels are the salesmen!

A10 CANON POWERSHOT

Love it! Love it! Love it! This camera is superb. From the superb quality of the pictures to the ease with which it is handled. The software that comes with the camera is a joy to use and easy enough for a child or technophobe to master. I normally use Minolta Dynax 7xi cameras and lenses and thought that this would become an obsolete camera that gathered dust in the drawer. Instead it is constantly with the family no matter where we travel. The ability to take as many photos as you want and see the results instantly is wonderful.

Have recently purchased a second one of these for my parents and they too are overjoyed with it. Can't recommend this camera highly enough. My recommendation is buy it, love it and have fun.
