A great end to a classic show
As with any season of SG1 the tenth and final season got off to a great start resolving last seasons cliffhanger with an explosive start and the loss of 1 recuring guest character and the arrival of a new 1 in the form of Adreia played by Firfly star Morena Baccarin to help the Ori in their quest to take over the galaxy and the daughter of 1 of our main characters also Amanda Tapping,Cristopher Judge and Michael Shanks return to their roles of best loved characters Samantha Carter,Teal'c and Daniel Jackson with the return of new characters general Landry played by Beau Bridges,Cameron Mitchell & Vala played by Farscape stars Ben Browder & Claudia Black with the return of Richard Dean Anderson in 2 episodes 1 been the comically potrayed 200th episode entilled 200 we see our characters go through some great adventures and some of the Stargate Atlantis characters make an appearance in an episode which i wish i could remember the name of but can't at the moment but my 2 favorites were 200 & the final episode unending which has some great moments and we say good by to 1 of SG1s best allies i wont tell you if you havent seen it so i dont spoil the end for youAll in all a great final to the series and i hope the movies do go ahead as they need to resolve some loose ends to the story

Review for Stargate SG-1: Season 5:
However, from reading the reviews on here I see that this isnt everyones cup of tea. So, for me I give it 5 stars because I would like to see much much more of this sort of thing, the story lines are strong, they dont let the previous seasons stories down whilst extending them.
Just so you really get the picture, you can go about 5 or 6 episodes in a row with the words"previously on Stargate SG1" although they are all continued from different episodes/seasons.

Review for Stargate SG-1: Season 5:
I love linking stories
This is season 5, and it is a bit different from season 1-4. The reason for this is that this season links various previous episodes together. I happen to love this, I love it when old characters are returned to us, and that seemingly unimportant episode that you watched a few years ago suddenly becomes oh so important. However, from reading the reviews on here I see that this isnt everyones cup of tea. Stargate-SG 1 Season 8
I love Stargate but have to say this is the weakest of all the series so far - it is still good - but it seems to have lost the plot a little. Maybe there was a cutback in the budget so we have episodes taking place in just one or two locations. It is the 8 series and still delivers but not quite with the same sparkle - if you have the other 7 series well buy it, and the storyline will be important for series 9. Wish they had left"Jack" in the field - running the base does not suit this character -6

Stargate & Beyond
With the departure of Richard Dean Anderson at the end of Season 8 & the introduction of Beau Bridges & Ben Browder, I for one was very apprehensive about Season 9.I could not have been more wrong. The series still goes from strength to strength.I didn't really like Farscape which Ben stared in (with Claudia Black-Vala in S/G),so I was very scheptical about how this season would work with depature of Richard, but I am glad to say that the series continues to go great guns. It's got the classic Stargate cliff hangers & is a real shame that after Season 10 there will be no more. Both Ben & Claudia fit well into their new roles & it's also good to see that RDA hadn't gone totally, the same goes for Don S.Davies.

A fantastic SciFi series
I originally borrowed the DVDs of a friend and had to admit that i hadnt ever seen Stargate, from what i could say the whole business seemed a little odd and boring... how very wrong i was. I have bought the DVDs for myself now as i have never watched such an addictive and incredible series as this. The stories are enjoyable and there is not a point in the series where i got bored. End of the day this show managed to trounce all my preconceptions about it and has made me a huge fan. I would deffinately reccomend this box set... and in deed have done... as you just read it (the reccomendation that is)8

Review for Stargate SG-1: Season 3:
From the end of Season 2 we find SG-1 trapped on Hathor ’ s home planet seeking a way home. Through the ending of this particular storyline in the episode ‘ Into the Fire ’ we get a good idea of how the series will continue. The humour is more free flowing and the team seems more united than ever.
Season 1 saw SG-1 encounter new enemies within the Goa ’ uld while Season 2 provided them with some willing allies. Now, in Season 3 the story takes centre stage. Episodes like ‘ Legacy ’ (304), ‘ Point of View ’ (306), ‘ The Devil You Know ’ (313), ‘ Maternal Instinct ’ (320) and ‘ Nemesis ’ (322) show just how great the writing is on the show as well as showing off the special effects that the producers have to offer.
For the third series running we are left on a cliffhanger on in the final episode with the introduction of the greatest threat to the Asgard – the replicators. These little guys just mean business and are a great addition to the Stargate universe.
As for Special Features, the Season Three Box-Set has some tricks up its sleeve (no pun intended). With profiles for Samantha Carter, Teal ’ c, George Hammond and Daniel Jackson, along with very insightful mini-documentaries about certain aspects of the Stargate universe, we are given great insight into how the show is made.
All in all the Season 3 Box-Set is a well compiled piece of work and should be in any true Stargate fan ’ s wishlist. All twenty-two episodes have enough action to sate even the most hardcore action fan and the background team, who are shown in one of the special feature mini-documentaries, have done more great work on creating the world which the SG-1 team visit.

Review for Stargate S.G. 1 - Complete Series 10:
The largest factor in the end of this saga is shows failure to replace the principle set (Cheyenne Mountain). To attract a new audience to replace those lost a Sc-Fi series needs to revamp its principle set where the characters are based. And so in Doctor Who (original series) the interior of the Tardis went through as many regenerations as the the Doctor himself. In Sc-Fi comedy series Red Dwarf, the charcters started in the minining ship and then moved to a transport ship (Starbug) and finally ended up in a prison. By changing the principle set the characters are based every 3-4 season the Sc-Fi saga can continue for decades.
It is a real testimony to the scriptwriters of Stargate SG1; they managed to keep this series interesting despite the increasing dullness of having characters living in a relic of the Cold War, which a decreasing amount of the audience can relate to.
As long as you can ignore the oddness of the Ceyenne Mountain set, then the final season becomes surprisingly excellant!

The End
The final series of Stargate SG1 is surprisingly excellant and the addition of Claudia Black and Ben Browder, which didn't quite work in Season 9, has been the hub of some of the most enchanting episodes in the series. Review for Stargate SG-1: The Complete Series Collection 1-10 [1998]:
shortly after the Stargate program is born and Over the corse of the year into the program, the Stargate project comes under fire from a Senator named Kinsey who tries to shut down the program, and hand it over to his low brow organization only known as the NID whos only intent is protecting earth by stealing, sabotarge and other ruthless methods that reach their goals.
Later on the Humans of Earth discover a race known as the Asgard who become close allies when another race known as the Replicators attacks the asgard, however the asgard call on the humans to defeat the replicators by use of the"primitive weaponry" humans use. The Replicators are essentially aliens whos only intent is self replication as the this race is made of metal blocks from the ships these robots canniblize, the Replicators are usually in a sort of shape as a spider or a fly usually 4 to 6 legs each.
Overall when Jack O'Niell is involved, he will always makes remarks to various different tv series, most notable are star wars, star trek, the simpsons and the wizard of oz along with some failed humor which he tries on his team. Overall the entire series is a lot of fun especially with O'Niell's humor, many explosions and the story arcs continue from the very 1st series all the way up and around season 8 to 10 in some cases and the CGI are superb for 1990's!.
From season 9 though a new story arc begins and several characters are replaced, Jack O'Niell, George Hammond and Sam Carter have been replaced with Cameron Mitchell, Henry Landry and Vala Doran. from this point a new character building season begins along with the explaination of a race known as the Ori who are religous zealots bent on purifications. it still just as good but with the Loss O'niell, it looses it's edge which sg1 enjoy so much. apart from that it's the perfect product.
A must buy for any sci-fi fan. i can not recommend this more highly.

Stargate SG1
Stargate SG1 Starts out with a bang from day 1, The first encounter between the Aliens called the Gua'uld and Humans of Earth started immediatly with conflict, an Alien only described as a Human wearing golden armour with glowing eyes commands several grey armoured aliens who are essentially human with a Gua'uld in their bellies. the aliens abduct a human female officer, the alien takes her through the gate after a failed attempt to recover her by poorly equipt and surprised soliders. Daniel jackson rejoins the team when the same alien and his soliders abduct jacksons wife and later on a fire fight ensues after SG1 are caught, but they all managed to escape by a defecting Gua'uld solider known as Teal'c who all escape. Teal'c Joins the team shortly after.shortly after the Stargate program is born and Over the corse of the year into the program, the Stargate project comes under fire from a Senator named Kinsey who tries to shut down the program, and hand it over to his low brow organization only known as the NID whos only intent is protecting earth by stealing, sabotarge and other ruthless methods that reach their goals.

Review for Stargate SG-1: The Complete Tenth Season [1998] (REGION 1) (NTSC):
Largely thanks to Vala (Claudia Black) who's as charming as she is side-splittingly, ingeniously, flirtatiously funny and who now becomes a credited member of the main cast, season ten gets off to a brilliant start (much better than season nine in fact) as the action picks up right where the previous season left-off with episode 1- `Flesh and Blood' (9/10) and doesn't decrease in pace for the next four episodes on the first disc, which continue to explore the continued threat of the Ori and their ever-increasing capture and control of worlds unable to mount any effective resistance against such a seemingly omnipotent foe. Episode 3- `The Pegasus Project' (9/10) is also very gripping with a finale that's both surprising and tantalising. The familiar stand-alone episodes then take over until episodes 10- `The Quest, Part I' (8/10) and 11- `The Quest, Part II' (9/10) both of which work well in continuing SG-1's discovery & unravelling of Arthurian-inspired mysteries surrounding their search for a weapon capable of destroying their enemy. Episode 14- `The Shroud' (8/10) sees Daniel in a unique position to deal a crippling blow to the Ori, which is also solid.
There were a couple of things that disappointed me about this season however- the first was that there were a few too many stand-alone stories (episode-16 `Bad Guys' (6/10) being the prime example) that didn't contribute to the season's main story-arc. It just felt to me too late in the game to be visiting planets for the first time that weren't under control of, or had never even heard of super-villains the Ori. Secondly, the resistance mounted by the Jaffa and other factions in the galaxy (e.g. the Lucien Alliance) that chose not to join with Earth don't contrast well against the continued efforts of the SG-1 team. In past seasons the story arcs involving the Jaffa in particular (but also the Asgard and Tok'ra) have been just as well-developed and gripping as the story arcs following SG-1, but unfortunately only a couple of episodes concentrate on the Jaffa in this final season. Lastly, while episode 20- `Unending' (10/10) is undoubtedly a wonderful episode- with a story that's not just dramatic, but explores sides to the main characters never seen before, it ends the season with so much unresolved that it's difficult to appreciate this tenth season as it should be appreciated as the final outing of SG-1. Obviously a great deal has been held back to be used in the TV movie `The Arc of Truth', which I am very much looking forward to and which will hopefully be released on DVD sometime next year, so I can't really complain!
An incredibly classy end to a show that has always provided unending enjoyment for viewers everywhere. My thanks to the cast & crew.

Unendingly cool
To begin with...season nine of `Stargate: Sg-1' really restored my faith in this series after what felt to me like some below-par seasons. I was never what you'd call a huge fan of this series, but that penultimate season with the introduction of new God-wannabe's and general galaxy troublemakers the Ori really did prove to me the huge talents at work behind the scenes of this fantastically gripping and intelligent sci-fi series. I hoped and willed the tenth and final season to be as impressive, but even though it isn't quite as intense and consistent, it's still a worthy conclusion to a hugely successful TV series.Largely thanks to Vala (Claudia Black) who's as charming as she is side-splittingly, ingeniously, flirtatiously funny and who now becomes a credited member of the main cast, season ten gets off to a brilliant start (much better than season nine in fact) as the action picks up right where the previous season left-off with episode 1- `Flesh and Blood' (9/10) and doesn't decrease in pace for the next four episodes on the first disc, which continue to explore the continued threat of the Ori and their ever-increasing capture and control of worlds unable to mount any effective resistance against such a seemingly omnipotent foe. Review for Stargate S.G. 1 - Series 9 - Vol. 48:
The actors play brilliantly like always, and the special effects, particuarly on"Ethon" help to bring forward powerful feelings, those who saw the episode whilst it was on TV will know why.
On the whole, a very entertaining disk, get it when it is released or wait till the boxset. Either way, an ideal part of any SG1 fan's collection.

An awesome set of episodes
Although this volume only contains 3 eps, they are for me some of the best ever seen on SG1. 2 of the eps deal with the power of the Ori extending beyond the Priors, and reaching onto the fanatical followers ("Ethon") and bibical-esque swarms of creatures ("The Scourge")."Off The Grid" is also an action-packed episode, involving the pesky Lucian Alliance and their large crime ring. The actors play brilliantly like always, and the special effects, particuarly on"Ethon" help to bring forward powerful feelings, those who saw the episode whilst it was on TV will know why.

Review for Stargate SG-1: Season 6 (Vol. 30) [2003]:
'Forsaken' is OK, but it becomes ever clearer that scripts are still being written for"Dr. Jackson", rather than"Jonas Quinn". In general, the personal interaction that made Stargate's 2nd through 5th seasons so special is missing in Season 6.
The Changeling' will be fine for Teal'c fans, but isn't anything special.
'Memento': the best episode, by far. And the only reason I didn't feel the disk was complete waste of money. Good storyline, and it introduces more facets to the Stargate universe with the crew of the ship.

Terrific Showcase for Teal'c and scenery chewing for Tapping
Singularity is really notable for the great opportunities it gives Amanda Tapping to show what a fine actress she is, but I found the ending so weak and the epilogue so sentimental that the episode as a whole did not work for me. Some lovely bonding scenes between Daniel and Sam showing the sibling relationship these two share. Worth watching, despite the weak plot, for Tapping's terrific work in the elevator scene. Cor-Ai is a fantastic episode from beginning to end. Very intelligent and a great showcase for the wonderful Christopher Judge who in the earlier seasons was given far more scripts that were worthy of him. This story explores Teal'c's guilt at his past crimes and shows how his relationship with Daniel is developing. Some nice insights into Jack's murky past as well.19

But Lousy service from Amazon, i have ordered, returned, recievd a replacement, and returned my replacement for a refund due to receiveing defective disks. when refunded Amazon had both box sets back but didn't procces either i had to chace up why my refund wasn't forthcomming and eventually got it back.I took a chance and reordered the set fresh, only to find that the same fault - episodes unplayable - is happening on on disk in every season. is thos a production or ackaging problem. i have no returned for a refund and will be ordering from Play.com when it becomes available there.

Good, but the casing could be a bit better
Bought myself this a few weeks ago. It was, in my opinion, well worth the money - I've always loved sg-1. Anyway, there's 2 episodes out of place in the box-set, but both are only 1 disc from where they should be, and both are standalone episodes - so no harm done by ignoring it.The cases for the individual series are very robust, and the discs are held tightly in place so they don't fall out, but still easily removable. In this it's typical of most box sets then. The menus and such are good, etc etc - nothing but good things there really.
There are two slightly less good points, however. The first is that the actual black case containing the series & movies is perhaps not as fancy as the rest of the set, but bearing in mind this is likely facing the wall where it is in storage so that the discs face forwards, it doesn't matter. The other niggle is the copy protection (if playing on PC) & copyright notices. Whilst I don't atall mind the copy protection itself, it does create pauses when the intro movies to the disc's menus are loading, though that's to the order of 1/2 a second at most. The final thing is the copyright notices, which can be rather over the top and annoying.
However, I'd still say a good buy - enjoy!
