Kent Collection Greenhouse

This plastic greenhouse seems good, and is as I expected after asking the seller several questions. As the listing makes clear, it is clear plastic and not the green meshed plastic in the picture. This seems slightly less strong than the green meshed plastic greenhouse we've had in the past, but one advantage to this could be that we won't suffer anymore the plastic between the meshing becoming fragile in the sun over time and then beginning to fall out. Time alone will tell - likewise, time alone will tell whether it'll stand up to the winds we sometimes have in the UK. One small criticism is that the guy ropes are not as long as they could be, nor are they adjustable as they were on our previous greenhouse. This is the only reason for 4 stars and not 5.

Gardening with a Great little Greenhouse.

I have a Gardman 4 tier Mini Greenhouse which I find very useful at this time of year, when I can put in it young plants to harden off, thereby restoring my window cills to their proper function! Unfortunately the zip broke within weeks of having this greenhouse and I had not been rough with the zipping of the cover in any way - that was disappointing.
I have found the greenhouse to hold a reasonable quantity of plants- sufficient for my needs and especially useful this year as I have been able to purchase a fleece cover which fits extremely well and relieves any concerns I have had with regard to frost protection. This is a brilliant idea and I would like to be able to buy an all covering fleece for the two tier greenhouse as well. Is this available?
These greenhouses would be ideal for use in school as there is nothing which could harm the children. I help in a Junior school with their school garden and one of these greenhouses would be a super help.

Flimsy and thin compared to it's competitors

As a fan of mini greenhouses, this seemed like the ideal answer for growing my tomatoes. It was just the right shape for a growbag and was entirely sealed - no chance of any slugs or insects getting in. This seems like a great idea and in theory with the grow bag holding it down you would think that this is a fairly solid little green house. Sadly the plastic cover is worryingly thin. The support poles are also far less sturdy than mini greenhouses I have purchased from DIY stores. I placed my seedlings in the growhouse within the growbag and after one slightly windy day, the how lot toppled over, tipping the growbag over and flattening my seedlings. The support poles buckled and the plastic ripped. So...I now have a pile of metal and torn plastic in my shed! I will now be buying another of my trusty mini greenhouses from somewhere and just keeping an eye out for the slugs etc. Shame, was a fab idea.

The greenhouse is very good and we successfuly grew many seeds/plants this year. However we were very disappointed with the quality of the cover as the zip soon became detached from the plastic and we could not succesfully repair it .

Good Value

I read the reviews left for this mini greenhouse and decided to take a chance. I am absolutely delighted with it and unlike the previous reviewers have had no trouble with the greenhouse being at all unsteady. I do agree with the last reviewer though who suggested a small opening at the top to save unzipping the whole cover. It was packaged well and was delivered before the estimated delivery date.

All in all this greenhouse is good value for money and I would recommend this greenhouse to anyone who wanted it for bringing seeds or plug plants on.

A Gardner’s View

I purchased two of these cloches last year.
I found them to be easy to assemble and obviously lightweight to handle.
Easy open access through the zipped panels and secure ties to the tubular frames.
However, the eyelets through which the cloches are staked down are made from poor quality metal which has already rusted severly after only one season...what a shame!!!

A fantastic garden item!

I have no space in my garden for a huge greenhouse (and I don't have the funds for one either!!).

I have had the Gardman single tower version of these (4 shelves) and it was fantastic, I was happy to upgrade to this.

I order this from Amazon and it arrived in about 3 days which was a great start. The instructions on how to construct this were basic but very easy to follow.

I erected it inside, and moved it outside where I put the cover on.

It is very light and it was easy to move. The cover isn't like the covers to the single tower shelving units Gardman do, it is made up of squares with a fabric lining which are meant to diffuse light more efficiently and help prevent overheating.

Once the cover is on (a slightly fiddly but overall easy task) the unit is still fairly light and easy to move around the garden.

As it is light, it would easily blow over, but Gardman provide pegs and two ropes to attach it to a fence (or something similar). The pegs don't seem to fit the holes in the cover! But I've attached it to the fence where it is nice and safe.

Size wise it is adequate for what I need. I can manoeuvre nicely in it and start my seedlings off in there. Later on I'll probably remove the top shelves and grow cucuumbers on the bottom shelf. At the bag there is room for a small tomato bag, or something similar.

As with other Gardman products, there are no air vents, so you'll need to open the door to allow air flow when the really hot weather comes.
