Fantastic picture quality for such a little unit
This is great unit for the money, the picture quality is unbelievably good. I did struggle to get the freeview channels on the indoor aerial but once connected to the house aerial there was no problem at all. The only thing I would say against it is that if you want to play music DVD's the sound is a little"tinny" and you may be disappointed but as a tv and dvd (film) player it is brilliant. Not only that it looks good too.3
Review for August 10.2" Digital Freeview and Analogue TV with Sharp 16:9 TFT LCD Widescreen:
Tested to connect the TV to my laptop as a monitor, works ok and VGA is quite useful while connecting to the computer.
Only downside of the TV is the sound is not quite powerful due the speakers are at back, but it is acceptably enough for a TV of this size.

Excellent Service and Product
Ordered 3pm yesterday, arrived early morning today just after 17 hours. The first impression was that the TV looks nice and cute. Plugged to power socket and home TV aerial, scanned 65 Freeview and digital radios channels within 2 minutes. TV pictures are very clear with good resolution. Lost a few channels when plugged to the included portable aerial, understand this is due to signal issue as my home in Herts is not good for reception coverage, but the analogue channels works fine with the small aerial.Tested to connect the TV to my laptop as a monitor, works ok and VGA is quite useful while connecting to the computer.
Only downside of the TV is the sound is not quite powerful due the speakers are at back, but it is acceptably enough for a TV of this size.

Beware this product doesn't work
I bought this product due to its 'portability'. Whilst the tv worked when plugged into my house rooftop aerial I couldn't get a picture with either the analogue or digital portable aerials included. I called today to return the product but was told I wouldn't get a full refund (including the postage) as there is a warning on the site that it may not work in all areas. That's why I'm back on the site and can't see it. So if it is there it isn't clear enough and I am now giving that warning to potential customers.7
Review for Orbit Portable DVD Player with TV, Freeview, USB, and Game (300+ Games):
The unit was dispatched very quickly from `Allcam World of Portables' although their chosen courier (Citylink) is quite simply appalling. They delivered it to someone half way up the road & never even attempted to deliver it here. After calling City Link many times, we managed to locate & recover the parcel!
The box for the DVD player/TV doesn't give any indication that this unit has Freeview & quotes Model No. PTDVD-768. Having bought this unit as a present, I didn't want to remove the outer cellophane from the box or, break the seal to check. I e-mailed Allcam & they were adamant that the unit did have Freeview. A visit to the Orbit Website underlined my concerns when I discovered that there are two version of this unit - one with Freeview (Model PTDVD-768DVB) & one without (Model PTDVD-768) No fear though, Christmas day, my son opened his present and ..... the unit does indeed have Freeview. Allcam said that they regularly get calls about this & claim that the box doesn't use the word `Freeview' because it's a tradename!?! .... yet the box for my son's unit doesn't even say `DVB' or quote the correct model number!
The instructions for the unit are a bit cheesy & written in pseudo English/Chinese! When first tested with a DVD, the unit made an applauding noise & wouldn't read a DVDs. Upon close inspection, I discovered that the DVD has a very thin plastic (transport?) shield over the lens & this needs to be removed before use (.... of course, the instructions were absolutely no help here!) Once we got over that hurdle, the unit worked like a dream. The DVD motor drive is slightly noisy but otherwise ok. Picture quality is excellent.
The rechargeable battery unit (which is external & looks more like a docking unit) also provides a portable telescopic aerial. For Freeview reception this isn't much use .... unless you're sat on top of the TV transmitter! A 12V car adapter is also supplied.
To set up the DVB & Analogue TV channels, we plugged the unit into a good (external) aerial. Again, this all worked ok apart from the DVB which seems to place the channels in a `non-standard' order. Although there is a channel sort facility, none of the options put the channels in the correct order (as per a `normal' Freeview box). There is a facility to manually sort the channels, but accidentally invoke the auto setting & all your hard work can be undone in a flash!
According to the manual, the unit is supposed to be supplied with a car antenna but this wasn't in the box.
Although you can control virtually everything via the remote control, for some odd reason there's no remote control of the volume!! This is controlled via a very basic volume control on the side of the unit.
The unit also comes with a Games controller & a disc full of games - which my son loves.
In all, this is an excellent unit & very good value for money.
Plus points ......
1). Excellent Picture quality on DVD & Freeview
2). Value for money
3). Packed FULL of features
4). Dual headphone sockets (so 2 people with headphones can watch at same time)
Bad points
1). Poor Instructions
2). Battery pack makes unit a bit cumbersome
3). No volume control via the remote.

Excellent tv for my camper
I've not seen anything better that does the same job. Picture quality from the DVD was better than expected. Suggest you buy Omnimax aerial for camping/caravanning. An expensive aerial but worth it. Reliance on the remote for switching between DVD and Freeview loses it a star. The remote is a bit lightweight so hope I can one for all!9

Review for Speedvision 3.5" Digital Freeview TV & Radio with Mobility 70 Miles/Hour:
I am sure that if you are close to an actual transmitter that it would work perfectly...however this is not the idea of a portable unit.
Take it anywhere and you will need to look for some alternative ariel solutions, or if you are near a transmitter and you are laughing.

Reception?
This is a neat product. The only flaw is that the ariel options that it ships with are not quite sufficient to draw down a good signal.I am sure that if you are close to an actual transmitter that it would work perfectly...however this is not the idea of a portable unit.

Review for August DA110CD 11" Freeview/Analogue LCD TV & DVD Player with Card Reader & USB Port (As Seen on Channel 5 Gadgets Show 12/11/07)-silver:
Because I'm so close to our local transmitter I'm within the"shadow" area and have to use a good rooftop aerial, none of my prior TV's have obtained a decent picture from either an inbuilt aerial, or even one of the custom wall-mounted types connected through a booster, so I wasn't at all surprised to find I needed to connect this to the external aerial as well. For that reason I can't make a fair comment about the inbuilt aerial. No doubt I'll find out how good that is when I next go camping, but if we can't get a signal it's easy enough to take a few films along with us instead !
That aside, picture quality is very good, whether for analogue TV, freeview, DVD, or plugged into the Sky box. DVD in particular was much better than I was expecting for such a compact unit.
Sound is fairly decent too, obviously it's nowhere near as good as a hi-fi when it comes to audio cd's, but good enough to play music on in the kitchen, bathroom or a tent if you just want something playing in the background while you get on with other things.
The flexibility of the unit is what impressed me the most, it'll handle just about anything you can throw at it. The only thing it doesn't have is an HDMI input for my HDV camcorder, but then it's not a High Definition TV so I knew that wouldn't be an option....
I'd definitely recommend it as a kitchen or bathroom TV that will also double up as a personal DVD player to keep the kids occupied in the car on a long journey, or a wet evening at the campsite.
My only complaint is that the controls can seem somewhat sluggish in responding, I'm not always sure if it's registered the button presses or not.

Impressive for a portable LCD TV
I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought one of these for my wife as a present, especially as I'd never heard of the manufacturer before, but I was pleasantly surprised.Because I'm so close to our local transmitter I'm within the"shadow" area and have to use a good rooftop aerial, none of my prior TV's have obtained a decent picture from either an inbuilt aerial, or even one of the custom wall-mounted types connected through a booster, so I wasn't at all surprised to find I needed to connect this to the external aerial as well. Review for Roadstar 9.2"Personal LCD TV with Freeview and digital text:
However, at first we couldn't tune in any channels, so we had to buy another aerial (indoor), as the one supplied was not adequate enough. This was not the fault of the TV, but due to the position it had to be in the kitchen. Now there is a sharp picture on all channels. The sound repro isn't bad for a TV of this size but can be a 'bit tinny' in some instances, particularly when any loud noise/ music/clapping etc occurs.
It does have some very good features though, even better than the Sony Bravia we have in the front room!!!
The picture is certainly as good if not better.
All in all a good buy. I would recommend this if you live in an area with a good digital signal.

Buy an actual television
This will not work without a proper aerial, therefore is not really portable. You can use it as a 'set-top box' to turn your analogue TV at home into a digital one to pick up Freeview etc. but these boxes cost next to nothing these days in the shops, so you're better off either getting a cheap one from a store or buying a proper TV with a built-in one.Don't be fooled by the positive descriptions of this thing, which were probably written by employees of the the vendor. Its not worth the money.
