Cleaning......

I bought this cleaner when I had new carpets laid. The old carpet was being passed on and needed cleaning. This cleaner is so easy to use, quick to fill and instructions are simple to follow. The old carpet came up absolutely spotless (a through-lounge, i.e. two rooms into one) in less than 45 minutes. With the special attachment, I was able to Scotchguard my new carpets myself at a fraction of the cost of having it done by the store. Cannot fault this cleaner except, perhaps, that you need a screwdriver to remove some of the guards to clean it properly - but not a hassle really. And no larger than a regular vacuum cleaner, so can be stored easily. Would recommend.

I have just bought this machine after recently purchasing one of vax's bagless vacuums, which I was more than pleased with.

I now wanted a small carpet washer and browsed around the net and come across this machine and thought, this is exactly what I need! It is small, lightweight and very effective! I used it in my car interior and was amazed at what it got out of the carpet and seats!!!

I vacuumed the interior firstly as recommended by vax and then went on to use the machine. I could not believe how dirty my car interior really was! No joke, the dirty water container was almost black and full of sludge! I left my car interior a few hours to dry and on return could not believe how fresh it smelt! My car is quite a few years old and I never really expected to see such a big difference, but honestly, it really did smell like the new car smell you get in a car showroom!

I have now used it on my stairs, sofa, door mats and on parts of my carpets around my home - excellent! It is so small and always available when you need it, and it is also easy to set up in a matter of a couple minutes!

The only problem now is I want one of the big vax washers for my larger carpet areas in my home!

So far - so good!

I ordered the Deluxe Folding Clothes Dryer last week for my daughter who lives in a small flat with storage heaters which cannot be covered. The dryer folds very flat and is so lightweight that it is perfect for storing where limited space is available. The folding sections feel a little flimsy but are adequate. It heats up very quickly, is economical to run and enables a lot of washing to be dried at once - the perfect solution to my daughter's laundry issues and so good that my father wants one too!

Dyson Mattress Tool

OK, so a vacuum cleaner tool is nothing to get excited about...but this tool is surprisingly useful! I used it to vacuum under the sofa cushions and was amazed at the amount of dust, hair and fluff it picked up!! Oh...and I found a few pound coins, too ;-)

Limited usefulness

I got this to spring clean my carpets as my youngest is about to start crawling. There were no marks to shift so I don't know if there's any difference or not - they don't feel or look any different but I feel better thinking they're sanitised. The extension poles are really cheap and flimsy though so I had to ditch them and get down on my hands and knees. I tried it on travertine wall tiles and had limited success - it did shift some of the orange tint you get where the water is constantly running but it took so long I gave up. I then tried it on porcelain floor tiles and it did nothing - I did it much easier with a mop. I used the detailing accessory on the grout which is quite grey now and it didn't do anything to that so I'll be going back to diluted bleach and an old toothbrush. I now have a blister where the cheap grip has been against my hand so in general I'll be going back to my cloths! All in all I'd say it's good for sanitising (I am trusting their claims there though I suppose) but it doesn't actually clean anything. Once in a while it is good to antibac everything though.

Great value - it's a pack of 3 kits, not just one.

I purchased this set because it's genuine VAX and I didn't want to risk damage to the vacuum by using non standard parts. I thought it was just a central filter and 3 alternative pre-motor filters but it's actually 3 packs each containing 1 main and a choice of 3 pre-motor filters.Great value and the cleaner now works like new again.

Brilliant concept but bad design!

I purchased this in august 2007. It was fantastic to start off with. It got into awkward places, had excellent suction and a good battery life! What more could you ask for!

In October 2007 a little piece of plastic broke off it whilst emptying it. Unfortunately this single piece prevented the dustbuster from retaining any dust. I sent it back to black and decker. They said that it was a common fault and they are working to try and fix the design.

It took 8 weeks and several phone calls until we finally got it back, albeit a new one, as they lost our original one. Unfortunately this one was the same design and the same problem re-occurred after 2 months. I am sending the product back in exchange for a refund.

If the design was changed i would buy this product again as it is good value for money.

Wizz through ironing

I bought this iron about a year ago and it really makes light work of ironing clothes.

The large water reservoir ensures you don't have to take unnecessary breaks to fill it up. Some other models require you to wait until the iron has cooled down before you can refill the reservoir - not with this model.

I've never used the 3 steam setting option as I always have it on 'maximum'.

It's important that you use this with a mesh type ironing board (as opposed to the cheaper wooden boards) which allows the steam to pass right through the clothes you are ironing.

Make sure you change the water filters regularly - I change mine every 4 months based on my usage and water hardness. The filters cost around £9 for 5 from Morphy Richards's website.

I'm very happy with this iron especially since I paid around £60 in a sale for it. So happy that I bought another one for a friend!

Buy one - you won't regret it.

Wow! What a clean car (and stairs) I have!!!

This is without a doubt the best thing I have bought for cleaning! And I hate cleaning!! The turbo brush is great at picking up all those pesky pet hairs from all those places the main Dyson can't get to! My stairs have never been so clean!!!! The flexible crevice tool is good for getting to awkward places too like round the back of pipes and the brush attachment for the end means that no cobweb is safe!!
I was looking at the mini turbine head, and had concerns that the head of this turbo brush might be too small, but my doubts were quashed as soon as I opened the box. In my opinion your money would be better spent on this than the mini turbine head as you get extra tools too!!!! £40 from Dyson, so another bargain from Amazon!
