great satnav

Only used once so far. Worked straight from the box. The sat nav worked beautifully. Quickly found a signal. Speaks the name of the roads which I found very helpful. Approaches to complicated motorway junctions are easy with the lane guide. Lots of features such as nearest supermarket, petrol station etc. My only problem so far has been that there is only one voice option (a female). There may be more but if so I haven't found them yet. Also there isn't a mains adapter which would be useful. However all in all a great sat nav at a very good price.

Works well with both iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4

I bought 2 one for me and one for my business partner we both drive Audi A3 (do not know where the arial is in the car but some people think this makes a difference I do not know so though I would mention what car we use them in) he has an iPhone 4 I have the iPhone 3Gs and tuned the transmiter to 88.0 we have both driven around the midlands with no problem what so ever. The sound is not as good as CD quality but then you do not expect it to be, I have had no problem with it. Both have an iPhone holder and just plugs in the bottom and then you plug the charger into the the bottom of the transmitter. The reason it get a 4 star is because the charging cable just reaches the iPhone in its holder so could be a few cm longer. Also although it does not slip out the bottom of the iPhone the transmiter does not click in which would be nice but not essencial. It is a nice touch that you get a charger with it and it charges the iPhone on the go.

Over all very good for the price am happy now I do not have to keep changing cd's

Excellent aux cable

Ordered another aux cable after all the other ones I bought broke, I'm not sure why they seem to have such a habit of breaking for me.
The Duronic cable though isn't likely to be breaking anytime soon, the cable seems to be in miniature cable chainmail.
It seems that it would be very durable, the sound quality is excellent, I use it for running a music feed into my guitar amp and into the
speakers of my car through the stereo, for both applications the sound quality is flawless.
Defiantly would recommend it as it may be more expensive than other cables but you won't need to replace it.

Very good quallity, quick delivery, fits perfectly the Samsung Galaxy S mobile. The chargers is really helpfull as the battery doesn't last for a long time (if you use the internet a lot or if you take some pictures and edit them probbly the battery doesn't last for the all day)

Happy with the purchase

We are very pleased with the purchase. Arrived on time for a 7 hour trip on the car. It works well with both original and home made DVDs. Pleased with them, good price, good quality. The aspect looks a bit"cheap", but the quality is good, so I am not bothered.

GARMIN NUVI 1490

WAS NOT REALLY SURE WHAT MAKE OF SAT NAV TO PURCHASE, EVEN AFTER READING LOADS OF COMMENTS AND GOING ALONG TO SEVERAL STORES.IN THE END I WENT FOR THE GARMIN NUVI 1490, IT SEEMED TO HAVE MOST OF THE THINGS ON IT I WANTED (WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY A SUBSCRIPTION)AND IT IS SO EASY TO USE AND SET UP (BLUETOOTH).I'M WELL PLEASED WITH MY PURCHASE AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

performance 1690 sat nav

took this unit to south of France and found it absoutley useless. It kept trying to avoid traffic and we ended up in the hills etc. Eventually i reverted to my old bmw sat nav. When i returned home to NI i tryed some simple routes and again this unit tooks us into mountain roads etc. I tried using the the route selections and avoidence options . All to no avail so i returned the item within the 30 day option

Replacement charger for TomTom

Having seen the original picture on amazon, I was a little bit disapointed when it arrived and on opening the charger had a coiled wire and not a straight one. In my audi A4 with the charging point directly behind the gear stick it gets in the way when changing gear and also the lead is not long enough.

From reading other reviews, was somewhat concerned that flush fitting may not mean exactly that. Need not have worried; it is so small & neat, and fits perfectly (BMW X1). Looks like part of the car, as opposed to an add-on. Functionally, it charges my Ipod Touch 3rd gen without problems. Now using it, and Alphasonix dock/3.5mm cable, to feed Ipod output to car's Aux input.

Caution!!! Dragon Naturally Speaking

Rc'd both the Voyager Pro and Dragon Naturally Speaking from Amazon today after so many positive reviews and one in particular, which stated how well the Voyager Pro and Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 worked together, had coaxed the wallet from my trousers. Having loaded the software two hours ago and after checking with the software house, I want to warn potential purchasers that the standard version of DNS 10 (and 11) DO NOT WORK with Bluetooth devices. There is a seperate and much more expensive version ("Preferred" with V10 and"Premium" with V11) that is needed and as a result of this, today's little foray has cost me an extra £79.99 for the upgrade which is downloading as I type. It has been an expensive day and this review is more to alert others to the situation than to comment directly upon the headset. However...


Though it has nothing yet to do, the Voyager Pro sits in my right lughole and I have to report it as being extremely comfortable and as the earbud sits within the ear nicely rather than you having to hammer it home like some stereo headsets, does not block out ambient conversation in that ear, so that you really can wear it for long periods and if you can live with yourself for looking like a complete dork, or one that has difficulty with personal relationships, you will have a marraige made in heaven. It really is that comfortable. Think of it as being like a new watch, where you are very aware of it for the first hour and then forget all about it.

Pairing and connection seem pretty painless and as far as I can tell, the sound quality seems very good, though after only a few calls made I could not yet award it a five, though I suspect that before long I might. The device feels very secure, but not tight and the prospect of standing at a urinal will not fill me with the dread that a"pop in" type of headset might. Be warned and never accept second user BT headsets at your place of work.
