Get what you pay for

It was delivered Saturday 3rd May worked well for 3 days now completely locked up.Not worth sending back as the p&p was more than the unit.

This one works

Bought this for my N95 8Gb. Noticed a cheaper version elsewhere on Amazon - however reviewers have reported it doesn't work. This version works fine. There is also an indicator on the top which illuminates when plugged in. Much cheaper than the £15 The Car Phone Warehouse wanted!!!!

Almost Perfect, One Or Two Things To Improve Though...

The sheer weight of positive reviews is what led me to buy this transmitter and I'm more or less satisfied with it. There are a couple of things about it that bug me though, one that has been mentioned a lot and one that I haven't spotted anyone mention yet.

1) The quality is NEVER going to be perfect. I can get it really, really close but there's always a hiss in the background. This is not noticable on louder tracks but on the quieter ones you're going to hear it. This leads on to my other problem...

2) As it is oly connected to your iPod by the docing port on the bottom and not via the headphone jack on the top, you CANNOT adjust the volume of the track using the iPod dial. This is only a problem if you have a quieter track. If you boost the car stereo volume you're boosting the background hiss as well. If you could boost the iPod volume independantly this would cover it up slightly.

Having said all that, this is still a pretty good player. As others have said, it's really easy to set up. Just plug it in, drive around and find a frequency that worlks for you. I've found three different ones and stored them in the memory and have stored the same frequencies in the car stereo memory slots so I can easily change between the three if I need to.

To sum up, the audio quality is not perfect so if that's what you're after, you'd be better off looking into hard wiring a connection into your stereo, with FM you will always get a hiss. If, however, you don't mind the slight sound of radio then get this player.

Good quality product.

Headrest mounts are non-obtrusive and the DVD player and bracket detach easily for safety when not in use.

The good and the bad

Firstly the good- easy to tune, good clear sound, plays directly from memory sticks as well as mp3 players and, in my car at least, it resumed play from where it had been previously stopped / paused (I had left it plugged into the cigarette lighter).

Now the bad- after three days it has completely and utterly stopped working! The play and stop button seem to work (since they trigger and led to flash on my memory stick) but the radio no longer picks up any signal.

I hope mine is just a one-off dodgy one as i will be buying another.

Great Product with a bit of a flaw.

Ordered and Received very quickly, and for the money personally I think the quality is excellent. The only gripe I have with the unit is that when the N95 is in the holder, the holder itself obscures the power socket so you can't use the included charger whilst it is in the cradle. This has an obvious impact on using this for GPS. However as it holds the phone so well I took a hacksaw to one of the supporting elements to free up the powersocket on the N95. Does just the job now, holds the phone securely, you have easy access for the GPS functions and you can charge it whilst using it. Great!

Excellent product

I've used numerous hands free systems in cars and this one is the best without doubt. The audio is loud enough and clear. For the first time ever I'm able to have conversations without endlessly being asked to repeat myself. The connection to my phone (nokia 6230i) is fast and simple. It takes no more than 10 seconds to open my glove box, switch on the VisorLite (which automatically connects to my phone within 3 or 4 seconds), and attach to the sun visor. After that it is totally unobtrusive to the point where sometimes I forget to switch it off when leaving the car. This isn't a problem because the battery life is simply endless. I generally make calls every day and the battery life still lasts weeks without a charge. The only criticism I can think of which is trivial and hardly worth a mention is that it takes a second or two for the device to wake up the audio when you start pressing buttons on the phone.

Top little transmitter

Worked immediately with USB stick and MP3 player. Unit feels robust and well made but the frequency indicators are a little difficult to read but then you don't need to read them that often. Sound quality is good - there may be better products out there but if you're looking at price V performance then this can't be beaten.

Great

I have to disagree with the bad reviews on this product. Although mine did look the same as in the picture so maybe others were unlucky and got a substitute? This gives me great sound quality and I only needed to tune my radio in once and its been great ever since. Although the P&P is misleading, £8 is still very reasonable. I would definitley reccomend this product.

Brilliant Gadget

I bought one of these recently so's I could use my MP3 player in the car. I wanted to use it to play both the MP3 player and the CD Walkman through a decent pair of speakers at home, too. The sound quality is good, and it is true stereo! Watch out for cheaper alternatives, many of them don't broadcast stereo, they only broadcast mono, so you get the same mono sound through both speakers. I didn't want that... This unit broadcasts proper stereo, there's no ignition whine in the car even when using the cigar-lighter lead, and it covers most of the FM VHF band so you can always find a clear frequency.
I would recommend always to find a clear frequency by manual tuning. The instructions suggest you find a weak station by scanning, but there is a problem with this. That weak station can get quite strong depending on your movements, the topography, if an aeroplane flies over, etc. When that happens, my car radio gets confused; it's receiving two stations at once, and it mutes everything. So if you get periods of silence for a few seconds at random intervals, its the car radio, not the Tunecast, that's causing the problem! Find a clear frequency and you'll be ok.
I have great faith in Belkin products, and this one re-inforces that feeling. I have absolutely no connection with Belkin or any of its employees, I am just a happy customer.

Good enough

I use mine in the car with a 6gb hard disc player and it has survived very well. Can't say I've ever noticed any mechanism noise, or for that matter any distortion.
At the price I reckon its good value and I'd happily buy another one if and when it stops working.
The main thing is that it enables me to have a 1000 tracks in the car, and not 100 cassettes.

Good bit of kit

We needed a bluetooth GPS to connect to a laptop running Memory-map Ordnance Survey mapping within the bow/observation cabin of our hotel narrowboat - so that our clients can see exactly where we are, as we cruise. I mention the narrowboat bit because operation from within a glorified 6mm steel box, albeit with windows, has to be a good test of any GPS. We turned the BlueNEXT unit on and it was bluetooth paired with our laptop in only a few moments (with Windows telling us it was using comport 45). We entered 'comport 45' into the memory-map programme and almost instantly the BlueNEXT device was accurately logging our exact location. As an experiment we brought the BlueNEXT device further into the main body of our steel narrowboat - still worked fine. At around £15, this has to be excellent value.

Parrot CK3100 bluetooth

Fitted this into a VW transporter T5 08. I needed to get an SOT lead to get it to fit, £20 from local halfords (they are car specific bt mine said BMW on it!). It looks a bit daunting but there are about 5 plugs that can only go in one place. I had a bit of a problem that the unit was left live all the time, as none the power feed that go to the stereo are fed from the ignition. So the orange wire to the parrot needs to be wired to another point. The black/blue wire that plugs into the aircon that is seen when the stereo is removed works fine, I just pushed the spade connector in and cable tied it securly. It took me about 3 hours with all the ignition faffing about, and I have no car electrics experience. Works well syncs easily with my phone and the voice command works well. Only 4 stars as the microphone volume is slightly quiet to the person you are calling, but I don't think any worse than any other car kit I have heard.

Rubbish

The holder I received was nothing like the one advertised! It is clearly only for mobile phones. My iQue 3600 would not fit in it, there was no provision for a photo, the thing rattles & vibrates when fixed to the screen. It only costs 1p, but with the postage, makes it a very expensive unusable item! My Grandson now has it fixed to his desk (with 2 screws) for his mobile.
