Review for Apple iPod - 30GB - Black [video playback] MA146B/A:
Charging any iPod has to be the most annoying task known to man, iTunes is the worst software I have ever used!!! Why would you voluntarily put yourself through that monstrosity! I had to pay an extra £25 for a wall charger, the lead with the wall charger became faulty within a week of purchase.
The main issue is there is nothing to challenge Apple and their continuous failure in MP3's. However, I may invest in Microsoft's Zune next and I'll get over the bulkiness. The only reason this product is getting one star is because I can't give none.

A definite do not buy!!!
At just over a year old my iPods battery life has suddenly decreased to around an hour of play, this is of no use to me whatsoever after having an iPod adaptor fitted in my car. It also continuously decides to freeze, you have to hold play and the centre button to reboot. It is ugly and far too big for the gym. There isnt a good enough range of cases for the product. Even though I treat my property with care, even using the daft sock apple give you, it is impossible not to get the iPod covered in scratches.Charging any iPod has to be the most annoying task known to man, iTunes is the worst software I have ever used!!! Review for Apple iPod Touch 16GB:
1) The interface really is as good as it looks.
It is extremely smooth, exceptionally intuitive and virtually perfect. Not only does it look amazing, but its very efficient. The only one tiny flaw I find is that if the name of a song is above a certain length, it is truncated with no way of viewing the full song name. I don't ever find this to be a major problem, though.
2) The screen is not as prone to scratches as you might think.
I have had my iPod Touch for a few months now, and while being a careful owner I wouldn't say I've gone out of my way to protect the screen. Desipte this, its still as unblemished as when I bought it.
3) If your music collection isn't organised (correctly tagged, including album art), be prepared to spend time organising it.
While not essential to have everything nicely organised, the iPod Touch is a vastly better machine when everything is. Only then do you really appreciate all the thought that has gone into the interface.
To summarise, I would recommend the iPod Touch as an excellent mp3 player. It is extremely expensive and its easy to think that the money is just being spent on stlye, however this is not the case. Your money is being spent on the most easy to use, efficient and user-friendly interface yet seen on an mp3 player. An absolute joy to use.

I'd like to keep this review brief and down to a few key points, as there are a lot of long reviews on this page already.1) The interface really is as good as it looks.

Fab iPod
My first proper iPod - and it's great!! If I could have afforded the bigger capacity then I would have got it - thats its only downfall. Just means you manage your music better and you always have something different on your iPod. Saying that I've crammed about 30 albums, countless photos and many iPod applications (just the freebie ones to check tham out!) Definatley a well deserved treat to yourself!5/5

Review for Apple iPod 80GB Video/Black (5th Generation):
I've had it for over 2 years now and it has proved its value over and over again. No trailing round albums (music or photo sort).
I don't use it to it's full capacity but what I do use I love.
It was well worth every penny I spent on it and if there are any problems Apple are quick off the mark to resolve them.

Review for Apple iPod - 60GB - Black [video playback] MA147B/A:
Infuriating doesn't even begin to describe iTunes. Firstly, I hate the way the whole computer freezes for ages when I connect the iPod to the computer, then it takes longer for it to update. Only, and here's my main annoyance with this, my iPod cannot update anymore(it comes up all the time now with 'attempting to copy to the disk"OWNER'S IPOD" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to' - even after clicking Restore various times), and this has nothing to do with any fault the iPod has as it works fine as is still like new(despite a few scratches it easily gets on the click wheel since I didn't have any proper protection for it then).
So, my iPod, having been restored again and again without successful updating of songs and videos I wanted to put on it, it's virtually useless, leaving me with the decison of what to do. I have now brought a temporary Creative Zen Stone that doesn't need any software to get the songs onto the actual mp3 player itself and the problems that come along with it.
To it's credit, it does have alot of features(like video, that plays really well), and good sound, but iTunes really lets this down. iPod are decent of you want to conform and fit in but there are better mp3 players than the 'all-powerful iPod', in my opinion.

iTunes software is flawed ...
Yes, I've had this iPod for nearly a year, and I can tell you, I've had my fair share of problems with mainly the iTunes software in particular.Infuriating doesn't even begin to describe iTunes. Review for Apple iPod - 60GB - White [video playback] MA003B/A:
Unfortunately not. The first thing is that the hard drive speed means that if you, for example, rip one of you DVD using a program like Videora, you get a lot of pauses and stutter. It's very hard to watch a film without the image stopping and the audio carrying on, then the film catching up again, and so on. So its not ideal for watching films on the go.
Then there is the issue regarding the sound occassionally just shooting up to maximum without you actually touching the controls. Then the times that you can't actually turn your ipod off as the HDD is just spinning aay and you have to hard reset it. This is before you start using the clunky itunes software to load your music onto the thing (tip - don't - use Winamp instead, its far less resource hungry and means you don't have to install YET ANOTHER media player to support your ipod.
Lastly, the tight bods at Apple don't even include a UK adapter in the box - so that's another £20 which I think just says it all. People I think cling to that hippy, small guy vs. microsoft image of Steve Jobs and Apple. The truth is, they are just two massive global corporations who want your money, and Apple has worked out if something looks cool, people get irrational and pay more than they have to for it.

riddled with flaws
It never ceases to amaze me the amount of apple devotees in the world. Having bought a G4 Cube which didn't work out of the box (and having to speak to the head of Apple Europe to actually get them to refund me as opposed to provide a replacement as they wanted to) I was hesitant about buying an ipod. Sure, they look cool and you can get your name etched on the back by a laser, but would it work. So many people I knew had them and were telling me how great they were, I figured this had to be something that apple had completely cracked the market on.Unfortunately not. Review for Apple iPod Photo 60GB [M9586]:
Let me start off my review with a confession. Since picking my iPod up the other day I haven't seen my family, or indeed daylight, for days. No Christmas TV repeats for me! The capacity on the 60GB model is quite simply HUGE - plenty of room for your entire music collection as well as, and here's where the new iPod is a delight, all your photos in suberb quality. There's room for thousands!!!
No need to get technical here - just read the technical blurb instead. All you need to know is this thing's a monster.
Feel like hooking your iPod up to the TV to show your friends/family/strangers your holiday snaps with an accompanying soundtrack? No problem for this little fella. And the battery life is less of a problem than on previous models.
And what's more it looks great when I'm showing it off to jealous people!
Go on, what are you waiting for. BUY ONE!!!!

Amazing!
Well, what can I say? I've had this for 2 and a half years, it still works and is in almost perfect condition, apart from a few scratches! It has survived being accidentally thrown against walls and dropped in puddles, and with a decent pair of headphones can still produce a sound of real quality. It also has more than enough space for all the music I've accumulated over the years! People say iPods are flimsy and overrated, but if you take good care of it they will stay doing their jobs for many years. I'm very glad I bought this instead of another mp3 player!
