Review for New Apple iPod shuffle 2GB Silver:
The reason I don't give it 5 stars is that the headphones supplied by Apple are awful - they blast out at high volume but it's like listening through wet cotton wool. I use a pair of Sennheiser CX300 Ear Canal phones which are immensely superior to the Apple ones. They take a bit of fiddling with to get the right size and then to form a seal around the ear canal but once they're in they sound great with the ipod shuffle.

Review for New Apple iPod shuffle 2GB Silver:
Excellent
I bought this to replace a Creative Zen Nano 1GB MP3 Player (which has developed an annoying habit of switching itself off for no reason). The sound quality is not quite as good as the Creative (which has a built in graphic equalizer function for listening to different styles) but having said that it is excellent for such a tiny compact, convenient device. The clip is extremely useful to me as I listen to music while working out in the gym and it clips easily onto shirt/shorts.The reason I don't give it 5 stars is that the headphones supplied by Apple are awful - they blast out at high volume but it's like listening through wet cotton wool. Review for New Apple iPod shuffle 1GB blue:
I go the gym and used to have a MP3 player - just a basic"memory stick" type that I plugged into my computer to recharge and I could drag & drop songs onto. Unfortunately it died so it was time to look for a new one. Now I was undecided whether to buy a basic model by a less well known company, or go for a leading name. It seems to me that if you're prepared to go for a relatively unknown manufacturer you can get a basic mp3 player for half the price with twice the memory, but eventually after much deliberation I plumped for the apple ipod shuffle, swayed by a combination of the reputation of apple & (hopefully) a better build quality.
I have had it just over a week now and I think I have made the right decision.
Yes, there is no screen, but I knew that when I bought it. I know from my prior experience at the gym that I just tend to switch it on and let it play so I didn't really need one. Also, I have a mobile phone that takes pictures, plays videos, games etc and I hardly use any of those features so I figured I wouldn't need a screen to watch tiny videos on. The earphones are great - several reviwers say they fall out but I've used mine on the treadmill, rower, cross trainer, exercise bike and wave machine and they've stayed in throughout! I've got about 14 hours out of it before I had to recharge which is impressive, and although initially I missed the simplicity of the"drag & drop" method of my old mp3 player, its just a question of getting used to itunes and once you have it seems simple enough.
All in all, an excellent purchase and having never had any previous experience of apple or ipods I am very pleased with my purchase.

Review for New Apple iPod shuffle 1GB green:
The first generation iPod Shuffle was a revalation, not only could you carry more music than you needed even for a marathon but it fitted into the key pocket on most running shorts. (but your house key was relegated to being tied on to your laces)
Now with the new version, you can clip it to your shorts and feel no bulk or weight atall whilst running along to all your best running and motivational tunes. And your keys can go back into the thoughtfully placed pocket on your shorts.
The included headphones, like for all iPods are pretty awful and do not stay in your ears when running but other than that the new Shuffle has to be the best workout kit (and bargain) of the year.
The latest range of Shuffle colours are not as vibrant as the first range, if you lookout for them the original colours are still available.

Hmm... the new colours?!
If you are a runner, then this HAS to be on your shorts somewhere. Steve Jobs has freed up the lone-runner experience over the past few years. Only 4 or 5 years ago my right hand had a Sony Waterproof Cassette Walkman velcro'ed to it (if the Walkman was clipped to your waist it jumped and warbled too much) which also meant to carry a water bottle tied up both your hands. The first generation iPod Shuffle was a revalation, not only could you carry more music than you needed even for a marathon but it fitted into the key pocket on most running shorts. Review for New Apple iPod shuffle 2GB Blue:
Once you are set up with itunes importing your fav tracks from your cds is extremely easy as is deleting songs you get fed up with. I haven't actually downloaded from the itunes site as I have so many cds anyway . I use mine with sony headphones and with any cheap ones I have and the sound quality is excellent in either case. I did treat myself to a seperate sony ipod charger so i am not tied to charging on the computer. If I was buying a shuffle for the first time I would choose a 2GB if I could afford it as like me you would probably end up upgrading sooner or later.

Heaven
My kids all have 4GB ipods but i decided to purchase this as I had a long flight to endure and as a busy Mum, I don't have enough time to upload 1000songs!. It is briliant. Love the way it just clips on. I thought the fact that it doesn't have a display screen would be a problem but it isn't. Earphones that are supplied hurt my ears after a while, so I brought some decent ones for £15. Just means that we have a spare set if one of the kids break! It's my lifesaver, when the house is chaos....just clip on my ipod and float off into my own little world :-)9
Review for Apple iPod shuffle 1GB Orange:
ipods are one of the least environmentally friendly gadgets available. According to Apple they are only meant to last 12 months and they are designed to prevent customers replacing the toxic batteries when they wear out. So the 10 million ipods sold are all destined to sit in a landfills for the next million years leaking toxic chemicals.
Environmentalists have been criticising Apple since the ipod's original release.
How have Apple responded?
By using less packaging and boasting that they are green. What are they on?
The following is taken from Thegreenguide.com:
"But while Apple declares that they are `committed to reducing the environmental impact of the work [they] do and the products [they] create' the iPod is not designed to have its toxin-laden battery replaced or removed. Apple can live up to their environmental commitment by making all iPod's green.
How to Make a Green Apple
* Produce toxin-free iPods
* Design iPods so batteries can be easily and affordably replaced
* Provide take back and recycling options for iPods and other electronics"

Does what it says it does. which is cool.
The ipod shuffle is great. It's just like any other mp3 player except that it doesn't have a screen to show you what song is playing and your list of songs. But who wants to know what song they're listening to? that's why it's great. however, it does get quite annoying when you're trying to find a particular song and you have to flick through every single track on your ipod and the sound quality isn't brilliant. This is for people who just want something to listen to on the go and that don't really mind which song they're on or all the technical stuff. anyway, i should finish here-it's a cool mp3 player.12
Review for Apple iPod shuffle - 1GB [M9725B/A]:
-very small and light, easy to slip into your pocket. Or use the lanyard to hang around your neck.
-As it is an i-pod it is obviously compatible with i-tunes an excellent music download site.
-comes with those white i-pod earbuds everyone seems to want.
The bad:
-This problem is not restricted to the shuffle, all i-pods can only be charged via USB cable ( unless your willing to pay £20+ for the privelage of a wall socket charger)
-No screen, this makes the ipod-shuffle look quite good. But once the novelty wears off, this is actually quite annoying.
-I as many other people have had problems such as the shuffle not being recognised by your computer. Or it simply refuses to play songs even though it is fully charged. This fortunately can be rectified more often than not by the"5R's". But still annoying to do.
Over all I would say buy the nano, save up an extra £30-£35 and you can then get the 1gb nano. Which is nearly as small and as light as a shuffle(with the bonus of the screen). Also if it is the"shuffle" mode you are after then all i-pods come with this. And most other mp3 players for that matter.
The main selling point of an i-pod shuffle, if you want one. Is i-tunes, which you can only use with ipods because of the protected aac format. In this sense the shuffle is a cheap mp3 player, that you can store your i-tunes on. And the fact that you use i-tunes with the shuffle is why i gave it 4, not 3 stars.

Does the job!
I purchased this Ipod at the start of the year for my partners birthday and all I can say is it does the job well! He wasnt bothered about there being a screen, watching videos etc. but simply wanted to be able to listen to music on his way to work without holding on to a large, bulky device. Whats more he has a rather limited music taste so doesnt have lots of music either. The Ipod shuffle is ideal if you want something thats barely noticeable and just want to listen to your music full stop (which most of us do). Its a fraction of the price of a Nano but with all the essentials that youd need from an MP3 device!19

Wow
Just received one of these little babies for my birthday. Its just wonderful, sound quality is amazing, quality of product excellent, easy to use and just about the best mp3 player I have owned. After half an hour and for me thats fast had downloaded all my songs clipped her neatly into place and was pounding the streets.
Would recommend to anyone, for the price well worth a look at.
