The Most Addictive Thing Ever

I bought this Karaoke microphone for my son's birthday and it has to be the most addictive thing ever. The whole family have hours of fun and the quality and variety of songs is amazing. Whenever we have friends round they can't put it down either and some friends/family have subsequently bought their own mics. If I was buying the mic again, I'd get the secondary mic that goes with it, but you can buy that separately anyway so guess what we're getting for Christmas. The only thing that disappoints me is that the song chips are a bit expensive, which is the only reason why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5.

Onehellofa Pro Karaoke Machine!

I first discovered a passion for karaoke in the far east, where i soon discovered how serious it is, now a part in culture if not just an option to let your hair down in an evening. I've been to specialist Karaoke boxes in Korea, Japan, Vietnam and China so i know what i'm talking about.

I was looking for a machine that a)has plenty of songs 2)is good quality (doesn't sound like it's programmed of kiddies keyboard) and 3) is reasonably priced.

The modix gives you roughly 8000+ english songs to choose and thousands of others in various other languages from as standard if you puts that in perspective from other alternatives for example 'sing star' (the thing i was using previously) karaoke series that offer you 40ish tracks (with no option to turn vocal off) on a dvd thats one hell of a difference, with modix it just comes with a midi disc that holds all the data.

Songs feature popular music of all genres and even some rare ones, for example i was surprised to see helloween in there.

Quality of songs ranges from good to excellent with the best being the songs 'covered' by bands these have guide vocals but you can turn them off, and the remainder being mostly keyboard-programmed versions of the song that still sound ok you can also change virtually every aspect of the song tempo/tone/colour of words etc and store favorites.

Whats best about the modix is that it still fulfils all the functions of a DVD player, for example i hooked up my 5.1 sorround sound to it and I use it primarily to play DVDS (multiregion player) and other karaoke discs as well.

It looks stylish, has plenty of features, remote, very high quality mic included with mine, sound quality and excellent volume, full listings of all songs in book and what i feel is the best part, the modix offers karaoke updates from the supplier every so often, so when new songs are available you can choose to get them.

If your looking for something semi-proffesional this is an affordable option that rivals some of the insanely expensive machines i have seen in the far east.

The only negative things i have to say about it is the wordings in a few on the songs i have come across are incorrect from the original lyrics or mispelt surely a translation issue from being made in China, but to be honest you find this on all karaoke machines. Also the song 'Runaway' by bon jovi is badly keyboard-programmed it sounds quite terrible and unsingable, still 7999 other songs to choose from.
