Does the job, but could use a few tweaks in the design.

I bought this dishwasher for my home and it certainly does the job. It tends to do a better job of getting the more stubborn grime off of my dishes than my last dishwasher and I've never had any problems with the general maintenance of it.

Nevertheless, there are a couple of things that irk me about the design. The first is that the shelves tend to fall off of their runners occasionally when you empty/load the dishes and it's a bit finicky trying to get them back in again. By far my biggest complaint however, is the obtrusive beeping which signals that your load of dishes has been cleaned. Obviously, the dishwasher has to notify you that it's finished its cycle, but the beeping continues for a good 60 seconds and then repeats the beeping cycle every 5 minutes for a good hour until you open the door. Needless to say, when you're in the middle of watching a film or you're lying in bed reading, it can be exceptionally annoying having to stop what you're doing to go put an end to the barage of beeps. At times you have to remind yourself that the dishwasher is doing your bidding and not the other way around!

Other than these two annoyances I have no complaints though, it's generally a good dishwasher if you can take the harassment.

AAA rating

The first thing that got me looking at this product was it's brand and price, it's treble A rating was the decider.
The hotpoint aquarius is one of those reliable brands you tend to trust, it's simple to use, and has many features that help make dishwashering even easier. It features fold flat plate bars in the back half of the lower tray, which is very handy for washing those larger pots and pans, it has a cover for the cutlery tray should you wish to divide all your cutlery - handy if you've been cake making or have small children (I think we've all had spoons stick together in the dishwasher?), the salt features a clear plastic lid so you can check the levels manually or you can use the salt and rinse aid refil buttons on the front which will glow if either are running low. the salt lid is easy to open, and is designed not to dig into your hand as many other dishwashers do - it also comes with a very handy funnel, so theres little to no mess.
The programmes on the front include the refill glows as mentioned, a multi program guide - including a eco wash, and there is a delay start should you require it
