Fine while it works...

This mincer had moderate use (about a dozen times), and worked very well. The suction grip held perfectly on a kitchen work surface. Then, after nine months, during mincing some beef the plastic barrel, inside which the meat is pushed up to the cutters, split with a loud crack. The end.

Fine food processor, but don't make bread with it.

Not badly built in the main, but it's easy to destroy both the dough blade and the nylon spindle at the same time by trying to mix less than 70% of the documented maximum capacity of bread dough. At £40 a pop, I've had to go buy a proper mixer for bread making.

Good product and customer support

We have had this processor for a month and it meets all the needs in baby food preparation. It`s compact enough not to clutter the kitchen yet can produce 4 or 5 meals for a 6 month old baby in one session. A few days ago we dropped the main bowl and cracked it. I rang the customer care help line for Meyer group (prestige) and could not have had better service. I explained we had dropped and cracked the bowl to which the representative replied"No problem we will send you a replacement free of charge". Three days later it duly arrived. Full credit to this company.

Great product - poor service

The product is easy to use and clean. Stores well, doesnt take up too much space. Makes great pastry.
However - the first one I ordered didnt work, the replacement Amazon sent out was second hand and dirty so I returned it and took my business elsewhere.

Do you really need XL?

I've had this processor for a year or more now and like it. When I bought it I was choosing between the standard and the XL, and went for the XL thinking it did everything the standard one did, and more. In actual fact I would prefer the standard one, as I only use this for baking, making pastry, making sauces etc and not for processing vegetables. The big funnel is only useful for processing big pieces of vegetables, but I use a knife and chopping board for that. The XL top adds another piece which then needs to be washed, and also creates more air space for flour etc to escape when making pastry. So consider whether you really want the big spout, or whether the standard one is really what you want. Other than that, a good machine.

This is a fantastic food processor, it is so quiet. Doesn't have different speeds but that is not a problem. Not the sort of equipment you can take in and out of cuboard, it's too heavy. So it just looks great on the work top. I find it easy to use, even my 3 year old grandson can push the button we have made lots of cookies and muffins.

i bought this two years ago and have only used it infrequently.

on the previous occasions it worked well enough. the bowls are adequately sized, although stuff tends to spill out of the large one due to the wall of the central hole (through which the blades are held) seems too low to cope with larger amounts. & it's nice to have a small sized bowl too. the bowls themselves are made from thick plastic which appear sturdy and at less risk of breakage than other food processor models. the blades are sharp and seem robust enough. the motor is powerful and relatively quiet. all the attachments work brilliantly. i'm particularly fond of the egg whisk, which does exactly what it says on the tin. the very substantial citrus press is by far more efficient than my mechanical press.

would i buy this food processor again? absolutely.

Value for money

This is my first food processor and I am very pleased with it. I did quite a bit of research first and following the advice to keep it out on the worktop, I have used it for something every day. It has taken the work out of grating, slicing and juicing citrus fruits and pastry is produced in seconds. A fantastic labour saving device. I have added extra parts: the julienne chipper is excellent, but it is a shame there isn't a size option in the way there is with grating and I also have the centrifugal juicing attachment which is a great disappointment. The chute is far to small, it produces little juice and lets pulp through to the juice so it often needs sieving before it can be drunk.
All in all, it is a good value for money food processor.

Very good, but......

I found the blender to be very good, but there are 2 things I never thought of, firstly, and for good reason, you have to hold the on button down the whole time, while in use, and I feel that the baby food processor is fine if you have a baby and only want to do one meal at a time, it would have been better with perhaps a 250 or even 400ml bowl, which is what I am now looking for, Any ideas? All things considered though, I will be keeping mine

Disappointed - a soupy disaster

Although I am usually a fan of Kenwood kitchen appliances, this one left me disappointed.

I have always used Kenwood kitchen appliances, the larger, stronger models of food processors but as I now live in a small flat, I wanted a product that wouldn't take up so much space. Enter the Kenwood FP225 Food Processor - the smaller, more compact processor for today's modern flat kitchens.

The problem I've had is with the liquidiser, the bowl itself is fine and works very well.

I was blending soup in batches and as I started to twist the jug off the processor to pour the soup back into the saucepan, the seal around the blade on the jug (that holds the blade in place) came off and as I lifted the jug, the blade stayed attached to the food processor motor and soup went everywhere!

Having contacted Kenwood they say that is clearly states in the manual that you must hold the food processor and jug at the same time as twisting (how many hands do they have!?) to prevent this from happening but having inspected my manual all I can find is"Leaking will occur if the seal is damaged or not fitted correctly". Kenwood claim it is a common problem but I'm afraid that it has put me off using the jug (my partner managed to mend the seal around the blade) and now I simply use the bowl.

Not recommended. Stick to the older, chunkier (dare I say it, more reliable) food processor versions.
