When only the best will do

I have found a bit of kitchen heaven on this side of the pond in that Cuisinart makes food processors for the UK!! I had one when I lived in the US, but when I moved over here 7 years ago I despaired of ever having a food processor that I liked to use in my kitchen. but EUREKA! I found the perfect on at Amazon.co.uk. The DLC2011NU Food Processor is absolutely fantastic. It mixes, chops, shreds and slices to perfection. If I had a complaint at all, it would be that it is very difficult to get additional discs and disc storage boxes in the UK. But in the great scheme of things that is so minor!! It's a snap slice and shred veggies to make stir-fries, casseroles, stews and veggie soups. You won't believe how quickly those veggies, fruit, mixes can get done - seconds instead of minutes!! Gotta love this machine. :-)

In defence of the Multipro Libra

Erm.......can't rip something to pieces because it comes with all the bits and pieces you could hope for! For maybe having optional extras...yes...but for being fully equiped, then no. Leaks.......mine doesn't.....not a drop...ever. I guess the big question is.......is it as good as a Magimix? Possibly not...it doesn't have the cache for starters. However, it has all the power, and compared to the 5200XL, I'd say it isn't really that far off the mark in overall ability. Time will tell if it has the durability. Now, as to storage. It isn't the bleedin' Tardis. How can you possibly expect a 9" by 9" base to have storage for bowls, grinders, liquidizer, spatula, juicer and umpteen blades. It would defy the laws of physics. It's a bit like being unhappy with a shoebox because it'll only hold one pair of shoes. In the sub £200 rrp category, it is very much worthy of consideration. Sorry Amazon, but I got mine in Costco for £117. At that price, it's an absolute bargain.

Disaster

I was quite happy with my new food processor until...
The bread dough somehow went up the tube in the middle of the bowl, through the hole and down into the motor of the base. Only discovered it when it started spreading about underneath the base by which time there was very little dough left in the bowl, so, I presume, it all is somewhere inside the actual base. Was very upset, to put it mildly, as was expecting guests for lunch and spend almost an hour trying to clean the mess. The meal was ruined and so is my trust in this particular make.
