Great mill

I was given one of these mills 3 or 4 years ago for Christmas. It has been faultless, has almost daily use, and I change the batteries approx. annually. It is used for black pepper only, nothing corrosive like salt. The light is also great for those candelit dinners.

Wonderful product

Had a set of Global knives for a 'big' birthday recently and bought one of these ceramic water sharpeners after reading various reviews online. I have to say it's just fantastic - the Global knives are incredibly sharp and it's also done wonders for my old set, much better than other more expensive steel-based sharpeners I've had. Buy with confidence...

Excellent for outdoor people

I have just bought the smaller version of this one but it works all the same. Quick and easy. One thing I will say is that to get the fire going you have to get some good, dry leaves, bark etc.

Best DOUBLE OVEN gloves, by a long stretch.....

....and I have tried ALL sorts of oven gloves but these, from Le Creuset, remain my favourite.

Had it for a six months -- and it's jammed up!

I had reservations about this grinder reading some of the comments here, but went ahead anyway.

I've got a Dualit espresso machine and this grinder, despite being made by Dualit really can't grind the coffee finely enough unfortunately, which means that my espresso machine struggles to serve the coffee!

Today, after only a six months, the machine has packed up (mostly). It seems to be jammed up, perhaps a stone?, but I cannot seem to unblock it totally so it works for a while then stops.

I'm ordering a new replacement grinder -- not another of these -- now. It's kind of a relief because this has NOT been a successful grinder and I'd like to enjoy espresso coffee from my expensive machine the way it should be!

Avoid this machine if you are interested in finely ground coffee. I'm sure it would be OK for a cafetiere.

Super Mouli

I love my Mouli! Why didn't I buy one before! I'd been making do squashing food through a sieve... not too practical when your little one is hungry. I bought this particular Mouli because it looked easy to use, well made and very convenient. It is all that. Out of all the kitchen gadgets I've invested in, this one is hands down the best. I've used it more in the last three days than I have any other utensil apart from Wooden spoons of course. It's the perfect size for a full ice cube trays worth of baby food, comes in two pieces so clips together with ease, is really really easy to clean and is made of stainless steal so it would go in the dishwasher (if only I had one!) I've used it to mash potato, various berries, bananas, tomatoes, peas and sweetcorn (which it removes the skins of - very handy!)butternut squash, sweet potato, apple and probably so much more over the coming months of mushy food. But then it needn't be limited to just baby food I suppose. It removes fibrous bits, skins, seeds so you could use it to make some good soups or smoothies. I highly recommend this product to anyone"umming" and"erring" about buying one as I was.

sorry Jamie but it's a dud

This product has a basic design flaw: a heavy mixing ball in a flimsy plastic shaker, which has the wrong shape for the purpose. The physics are all wrong, in a word. We took good care of ours and followed the instructions but the hinges on the barrel of the plastic shaker broke within weeks of purchase. The design is Kute but Krummy (and I am a fan of Jamie's)!

Better than any of the others.

This mandoline is solidly put together, there is no flimsy plastic bits that will break off. You understand why they guarantee for 25 years!

The instructions make it clear how to set the blades up and there is a scale on the side of the main unit (in inches and mm) to allow you to set the slice thickness.

The food holder attaches to the main body to prevent any slippage and the blades all come in their own box (understandably as they are razor sharp).

This is a great product and does what it is meant to do.

BRILLIANT

The absolute best bookstand I have found. This has been an absolute lifesaver during my degree - I picked one up in a bookshop a few years back and have been desperately trying to find more ever since - so glad to see it on Amazon! This is lightweight, folds to a tiny size, can clip into an A5 or A4 ringbinder (through the metal of the base), and works very well. The angle can be changed by pulling the top of the frame up or down - this is a little fiddly but very useful.

Potentially lethal!!

Between me and my mum we have had 3 (one of which was a replacement) of these death traps and blades have popped out of all 3 of them.

The first one went cutting carrots, the second cutting cucumber and the last one cutting peppers.

This product needs reporting to trading standards it's that bad!

Not just for coffee!!

In fact, I don't use it for coffee at all!

It does a great job on: Sugar, nuts, spices

Not so hot on: Fresh herbs ( tends to be a bit soggy)

Only down-side is that the plastic ring under the blade nut has cracked and is staring to come away. hasn't stopped it working though (yet).

A bit chunky but very effective....

When I first used this knife it felt a little chunky in my hand. My previos one was a Moulinex but it was without the 'double switch' safety system now required - and a lot easier to hold and operate.

But after a couple of days use, I am now sure this was the best choice. It cuts even very fresh bread with relatively little downward pressure - something which occasionally causes the whole loaf to get squashed flat!! I tried it to carve the meat today, still with good results, so it was time to write a review....

A recommended electric knife to which I am happy to give 5 stars.

Does the job for me!

I've had a couple of these and each one lasted over a year, for something that costs around a tenner you cant expect it to perform miracles or last forever.
Wall mount it, grease it and gently press the can into the crusher denting it a bit before crushing.
Don't try and crush steel cans, its only designed to crush aluminium drinks cans.

Total failure!

We bought this machine for use in our kitchen - when we opened the package there was a piece of paper inside told us that it might not work where microwaves, radio waves, mobile phones or similar radio equipement might be present - what kitchen does not have one or many of these in it. Anyway we turned it on and tested it on a 1kg (1000g) bag of flour. It told us it weighed in excess of 3000g (3k). Also we noticed it started weighing at 3g. So we sent it back from where it came.

the salad spins and the spinner stands

I have owned my oxo - good grips spinner for a few years now (bought it in a littke kitchen shop in Madagascar - it was their only one and they received it by mistake) and I think it is the best. (I have had a few spinners in my day)
1. it is easy to use- you pump on the button and it works (anyone every have one of those spinners that you have to spin in the air by a cord? horrible) much easier to use than a cord spinner or a lever/knob spinner -where you have to rotate the lever/knob around
2. it stays put while it spins- others seem to dance around the counter, but this one has a little rubber traction ring on the bowl- lending it a"good grip"
3.nice brake, to stop the spin and to keep the"spin button" collapsed down for storage
4. easy to store- I sandwhich between my other bowls and the lid is to the side
5. very easy to clean

AKA Boiled Eggs For Dummies

I bought this for my other half as she was having problems and experiencing tremendous frustration when boiling eggs. This was one of those 'little' presents which turned out to be one of the best things I have bought for her.
Thanks to this strange little gizmo she is now an expert egg boiler. It is easy to use, easy to understand and helps to make a perfect bolied egg every time. If only everything was as simple as this.......
