Excellent - get the chopper, too!

Excellent - and for the comment author who suggested that the first review was an attempt to 'sell the item' - well surely that is what Amazon reviews are all about?
I bought it based on that first review!

For those who prefer a single glove......

There have been some mixed reviews over the efficiency of the actual thickness of this item.

For the record, I have to be persuaded to review a product I wouldn't usually select for my own kitchen, preferring to opt out rather than give a lesser review than the item may deserve. After all, choosing and using kitchen linen comes down to personal preference, how big your casserole dishes are, and......maybe.......habit?

Having now tested this gautlet' it did do the job.
The 14"/36 cm length protects the wrist area, too.
But...... I have to admit that I still prefer Le Creuset's `Iron Handle Glove` for lifting hot handles from the hob and Le Creuset's `Double Oven Glove' for lifting seriously hot, largish casseroles from the oven, mainly because, for the latter, it felt safer to have the option of that two hand protection, when you really need it!

Perhaps a good excuse to buy two mitts, then!

Brilliant little gadget but rather noisy!

This is a well designed and very clever little gadget if you fancy making your own sausages. It is very easy to use - just chop the meat into chunks and push in through the feeder. It is very quick (only one speed ie. on/off) and does an excellent job but rather noisy. There are two different sized mincing plates and these, together with the sausage filler funnel and the kebbe maker (this makes tubes of meat for stuffing) all fit really neatly into a little storage compartment in the body. Note there is no biscuit maker attachment as mentioned in the description and this should be changed soon. Stuffing the sausages takes a bit of practice and is really a two-man job - I can't help thinking that it would be easier if you had a speed control so you could start doing it slowly until you get proficient! Loads of websites sell the casings for the sausages but this filling tube only fits the large 28mm ones. I have discovered though that the set of Porkert No.5 filling tubes sold on Amazon fit perfectly enabling you to make the small cocktail sausages and chipolatas. Amazon also do some really good books on sausage recipes. All in all it is great value and great fun.

Small? Not really.

I bought this for my mum and she adores it! I'm glad i didn't go for the bigger one though as this is the perfect size, big enough for even my dad to get his hand in. It's certainly being put to good use in our kitchen!

What a great machine. Having fallen for the healthy tasty smoothie breakfast craze I decided to invest in a smoothie maker to make my own at home and save money, I looked around and could not find better value than the Russell Hobbs. Firstly I have to question the other reviewers that said this smoothie maker leaks alot, there may have been a faulty batch or something but I do know from experience that if you do not assemble the parts in the correct order and ensure they are tight it may leak and badly. That said when you put it together correctly (which isnt at all difficult) mine has never leaked. Though I am not saying for fact the other reviewers put it together wrong its a strong possibility.

In terms of functionality the machine is brilliant tearing through ice and frozen fruit with no trouble, another added benefit is the ease of cleaning and assembly. The machine has a large capacity and what I tend to do is make a large amount of smoothie and freeze some for a later day. All in all a great value smoothie maker buy one and enjoy.

great timer - pity it doesn't measure hours

this timer is great - the only problem is that you can't use it to time anything that takes over 99 minutes to cook, so that rules out roasts and casseroles. Very easy to operate, easy to read, and the alarm is very loud but not unpleasant. Even my 4 year old son can set it for me.

1* review! Do you have Richardson knives?

**** Please note this sharpener works by essentially grinding the blade with metal agains metal which can seriously damage the burr of your knife not recommended at all 1*! ****

I can't recommend this product i purchased to make an order high enough for super saver delivery and i needed a knife sharpener. I purchased several acero knives at the same time. First of all i used the sharpener on an old parer i had which i noticed was made by richardson, brilliant result its now the sharpest knife I own. However this is down not only to the fact the sharpener worked brilliantly on it but the fact it has done an excellent job of making my acero paring and carving knives as blunt as a tea spoon I wont let my chefs knife near it.
I give 3*** not the one i was going to after spending about 15minutes trying to sharpen my new blunt parer with it to no avail as to be fair it works wonders with the one richardson knofe i have. It should advise on the packaging if it is designed specifically for their brands as this makes sense.

Handy!

Very useful in the kitchen, just do not use a heavy spoon as it has a habit of toppling over, which makes more of a mess than if you did not use this in the first place!!! The metal dish on the bottom is easily removeable for easy cleaning. This also makes a great used tea bag holder!
