Ignore Get A Life -Get a Refund!!!

Bought this thinking it was"the future". What a disappointment!
I had to stick it out for a good while though as my hubby said straight away-"what are you wasting your money on a new kettle for? we've already got one!" blah blah blah let me tell you, this thing doesnt get the water hot enough. You either have to put hot water from the hot tap in to start with or nuke it in the microwave afterwards...whats-that-all-about??
Anyway it made me a right old laughing stock within our household. Ladies (and gentlemen)it aint worth it save yourself a load of grief and humiliation- buy shoes instead!!;)x

Nice Kettle

I live in a hard water area and can see limescale developing on the inside but no more than any other kettle I've owned. To ensure that the outside stays in good condition, I make sure that I wipe off any water with a dry cloth/paper towel, job done, no marks!

I understand about the odd taste but have found it only happens if the water has been allowed to sit in the kettle for a while; the easy remedy is to renew the water before each use.

Nice rapid boiling kettle and I don't think that this is an excessively noisy when it does so. Don't think that it's particularly heavy either, even when full.

I would definitely recommend this kettle. It looks nice, is compact and does what it's supposed to do, boil water!

You can't fill via spout!!

Ordered this several days ago and it arrived (using free delivery) in 2 days :-) The only gripe i have is you cannot fill using the spout you do need to lift the lid, which opens smoothly and is easy to do.

Bosh is one of my favorite brands I have bosh dishwasher, washing/drying machines and a fridge freezer, they all have been well used and have lasted with no problems (touch wood). So when it came to selecting a new kettle and seeing this one i had to have a look.

Apart from the error in the listing regarding the spout filling i am very pleased. My previous kettle wasn't a filter kettle and now i can see the difference. there is or was a advert on TV showing the difference and it does do what they say the tea is clearer and has no scum on the top. Also for a 3kw fast boil it's quite. There is probably quieter ones on the market, although this is quite enough.

When you pour, the water goes where you want not over the work top.

The last thing i would like to comment on is the look of the kettle, my kitchen is stainless steel but stainless steel kettles need to be wiped and cleaned regularly so i decided to go for plastic, the kettle looks the part and as the spout doesn't dribble there is no need to keep wiping the outside.

Whilst i have only had this for a short while I am pleased and am confident that others will be too..

compact

I love the swan teasmaid but just wish the lid was more secure, I find it nearly falls off if you tip the pot up too far, I do think the tray is a good idea. Its very conpact so fits in a small place, I just love it.

An Abomination

Whoever invented this kettle should be shot in the legs, its rubbish, we have 2 in our otherwise prestigous office, and they are a health hazard spitting hot water like disturbed vipers. I fail to see the eco-freindliness of time wasted visiting the NHS burns unit each time you want a cup o cha.

Lasted 18 Months

I specifically bought this kettle as a quality product with a powerful element for fast boiling. Unfortunately after 18 months , and out of warranty, it has started leaking from the 'see through' windows onto the base. I've binned it and gone back to cheaper £4.50 one from a supermarket. Very disappointing.

Pretty pink kettle

This is a beautiful girlie kettle, it is also very efficient and even though it has a wide base will boil as little as one mug of water. It claims to be very quiet, which it is, although I'm not sure why this is thought to be an advantage, surreptitious midnight cups of tea perhaps?

Watchdog- handle can snap off

Like the looks. Works ok as kettle. On 2nd one. The first one build qualiy failed after a year. I am going to change the current one as I have young kids after watching Watchdog tonight re snaping off handle.

Excellent high quality, high feature

I have had this kettle a year now, and it is the best one I've ever had.

The jug glows up a very pretty neon red colour, and whilstles a siren sound when finished. This sound CAN be turned off by using the switch underneath the base. But why would you want to, it's very useful and everyone that comes to the house comments on it.

The cordless base is 360 degrees, so you can pick the kettle up from any direction, and put it down anyhow without lining it up. There is also a water-gauge on both sides (useful for left-handers).

The inside does not reveal any elements, but just has a flat base. This means that any scale build-up can be very easily removed. Although having said this, it has never aquired limescale. There is also a filter fitted behind the spout, and this is supposed to block out impurities. On mine this has never needed cleaning.

The kettle also boils exceptionally fast.

Delonghi Metropolis Kettle

I have just bought the kettle from you and have been using it for a few days. I don't usually bother writing these reviews, but I am SO disappointed with it that I would like to let other people know my thoughts. I wish I'd read the other reviews before buying!
It is NOISY!
The handle is too smooth, therefore slippery.
The fill gauge is almost impossible to see.
The on switch is horrid plastic.
It is heavy even when nearly empty.
The lid is not easy to lift off for filling.
The only positive is that it looks good.
Why bother, I'd rather have an ugly one....

FANTASTIC!

We moved to a VERY hard water area (S/E Shropshire) 18 months ago and this is my third kettle - they just don't last! Normally, within 48 hours of descaling, other kettles would be scaled up again, with large white bits floating in the water, and even with a filter on the kettle we had to use a tea strainer to try to stop the scale appearing in our tea and coffee (we could never drink the last inch otherwise we'd get a mouthful of bits). NOT WITH THIS KETTLE! We have been using it for a week now (we are a family of five, so it can be boiled several times a day) and there is no evidence yet of any scale forming on the bottom of the kettle - it says it's 'ultra resistant' and it certainly seems to be. I am absolutely delighted as descaling the kettle was a chore that needed doing at least twice a week. Being stainless steel the kettle is quite heavy and the outside gets very hot so avoid touching, but if you have a scale problem like we have then I can highly recommend this kettle.

Really pleased

My husband chose this kettle as he liked the design, shape and green light element, as ever delivery with amazon was swift and we are really pleased with our choice. As with other reviews the kettle does seem noisier than our previous kettle but this doesnt bother us so I wouldnt class it as a negative. There is a measure guide on both sides of the kettle so it doesnt matter if you have the handle to the left or the right the kettle looks the same and the green light when its boiling is a really nice feature. The lid opens at the touch of a button which makes it easy to fill and it boils really quickly which is a real positive. We boiled the kettle 3 times just to be on the safe side before using and havent noticed any unpleasant metalic taste at all. Overall a great product for the price, would recommend.

Made a foul tasting cuppa

I loved the look and styling of this kettle but was very disapointed with it.After boiling it for the first time and then repeating to get rid of any deposits in the kettle i found that my cup of tea tasted bloody awful.I percevered and about 1 in every 4 brews made tasted ok but this went on for 4 weeks so i dont think it would have improved,so i returned it.The only problem now is that i am stuck with the matching toaster.Happy days.

Very good performer

I bought this kettle about a month ago but it was the white plastic version. I must say I have been extremely pleased with it so far. It does just what it says on the tin; it boils quickly and very quietly (one of the quietest kettles I have used and a great improvement on the previous Krups kettle I had, which sounded like a jet taking off; the spout is quite large and it pours well; it is easy to fill and the the water volume window is easy to see and read (and gently illuminated during boiling). All in all a very good, practical kettle. Just what you want. I'd buy one again on this initial evidence.

Stylish looked but still overpriced

Granted mine was the last version..Ive had it for some 3 years now, back then this was THE most stylish kettle you could get, right now I think you could get something just as good from Philips, Dualt etc for less money. Its not all that...but then I havnt had any of the issues reported here...the toaster on the other hand is a different matter altogether...dont get me started on the toaster!

Awful Kettle

This kettle is terrible not only does it leak but the `chrome effect' handle wore completely after three months of use. I would not recommend this for anyone, it seems quite difficult to purchase a kettle (well for me anyway) that lasts for longer than a year. The best one I have ever had was a gas kettle from the US. I think I might try a Wesco one of these...

Poor quality and performance

I purchased this kettle via Duronic.
It worked well at first but after a short time kept cutting out during the boil process and had to hold the switch down.
This happens every so often.
Also leaks slightly and limescale is developing around the joins between plastic and stainless steel.
I complained to Duronic but as I had discarded the packaging their only response was for me to take it to my nearest Kenwood specialist for repair.
My advice - do not purchase this item.
