Makes great tea and what a whistler!!!
This is a smashing little kettle for camping. It has a whistle on it which will attract every sheepdog within a 5 mile radius and alert other campers that 6am is THE IDEAL time for a cuppa! It heats water efficiently and surprisingly quickly which is great if your gas is about to run out!The downside of this particular kettle is the price-shop around. I've had no problems with the whistle (though I find it sounds slightly louder when rotated according to the picture on the box) and it looks amazing. Of course it takes slightly longer than an electric kettle, but you expect that when you buy one that sits on the hob. Be realistic.
I'm over the moon with my new kettle, it's brilliant and works exactly as I expected it to. If you're tempted, buy one.

The perfect kettle - looks and function
I bought the kettle for the gorgeous design and the great reputation of the Le Creuset brand. I read the reviews after I'd bought it and started to worry. There was no need. Top kettle!
We find this an excellent kettle, before I bought this one 2 different makes started leaking. This one keeps the water in, doesn't steam up the kitchen and is quick to boil. I don't know if I agree that it's noisier than others, it may be. The switch comments are interesting, it isn't a very positive feeling switch, but neither my husband or I have any trouble with it ( had it well over a year). However a cack handed friend of mine has a lot of trouble turning it on, so I think it may be more to do with wrist action than a fault with the appliance!88

Design Faults and Dangerous - Avoid
I bought one of these and it literally blew up after three weeks, massive bang and fuised everything. I returned it and got a replacement. Within a month it started blowing fuses again. After several loud bangs and tripping fuses, strange crackling noises from the base which got hot, it stopped working completely. I discovered I am not alone, friends bought ther same kettle and had the same problem.It looks great, but has serious design faults.
I have bought a Philips kettle!

Bad taste in the mouth
We purchase a Bosch toaster and went to buy the matching Bosch stainless steel kettle but changed our minds after reading all the negative reviews concerning the bad tasting water. However, we experienced the same problems as owner of the Bosch kettle - we been unable to get rid of the plastic/metallic taste in the water after boiling. After two weeks of owning the kettle, the taste in the water was still a strong. We wrote to Kenwood customer services and they wrote back very quickly and offered a replacement direct from them or suggested returning the kettle back to retailer for an exchange or refund. We opted for a refund.This is a Great looking kettle, quiet, fast and feels very well made. We would recommend it (5 stars) if they sorted the problem with the bad tasting water.

Disappointed
I bought this kettle because it looked so stylish. But I found it very heavy. The button on the lid needed a very firm press to open it. And as the previous reviewer remarked - there are no water level markers. The pouring spout is wide so it can be difficult to pour water into small cups etc. I took it back and got a refund. I then bought the Breville Spectra (which you can use for 'mood lighting'..!) which is lovely to use as well as look at.96

Don't but anything made by DeLonghi
I must agree with the first two reviewers - very poor functionality in all aspects. Just stopped working completely within 2 years. A place where I worked had one, and the guy had to weigh down a ruler on the switch to stop it constantly flipping to 'off'. Utter trash! What I really wanted to rant about is the DeLonghi blender kf8150m. Right out of the box, on the fastest speed there was the faint smell of the motor burning. I have since realised it is very easy for the blade axle to become overtightened, making it almost impossible to turn. I have used it about 5 times over the past year, and the handle has irrepairably snapped loose at the top. So that's about £16 per smoothie. Now keeping a critical eye on my DeLonghi toaster... will never buy another DeLonghi. Mind you, Vokera boilers, Fiat cars... I think a pattern is emerging.100
