Spot on for the cash!
Looks good, works good, very easy to set up and use. Instructions are clear and concise. The one missing star is because the outer casing to the right of the unit vibrates when cooking which in turn produces excess noise. If you put your hand on this area then the noise level is reduced ... not a big deal though but I mention it as it`s louder than the unit it is replacing. Something that could be worked on during manufacture I reckon (if y`all watching Daewoo). 40 quid, it`s a steal as it really does look superb, the controls being hidden under the door so all you see is the silver casing with a reflective black freeform sweeping door, the digital clock in the corner is an added bonus too. Cooks an Asda curry pot to perfection!3

Excellent Value for Money
Previously I owned a Sharp microwave which served me well for 14 years before giving up the ghost, therefore I decided to stick with the Sharp brand for a replacement. The R259SL is a stylish, compact model and the silver finish would compliment any kitchen style. It is easy to set up - just plug in and go! If you're looking for a conventional microwave for defrosting and reheating or for cooking nothing more complicated than a baked potato, then this is the one for you. It has Auto-cook, Express-cook and Express-Defrost features which are very handy. One tiny niggle is that the power level is shown in percentage terms, (High = 100%, Medium High = 70% etc)so you have to remember which is which, but I guess it's just a matter of getting used to it. It may not have all the"bells and whistles" but the features it does have are very adequate for general use.I opted for First Class delivery and the microwave arrived the day after despatch, so well done Amazon!
All in all, the RS259SL is a smashing little oven at a very reasonable price - excellent value for money.

Bought this based on the Which? report, it was judged the best standalone solo microwave. It is a bit plastic-y, and the first one I received was broken (not encouraging). Credit to Amazon though, they sent a replacement that arrived the next day - well done Amazon! New one great, and so far working as hoped! Would recommend it.6

Do you need a Big One?
This is a big microwave just short of the width of a standard kitchen worktop. You can easily cook a large chicken in it, which only takes about 40 min's using the combi. This is the second one I've had. The first lasted 3 years before developing a fault with the turntable, which is why I gave it 4 and not 5 stars (although I did use it a lot). The styling and some of the cooking option have changed on the new model so they may have addressed this problem too. I could not find another microwave that came anywhere near this for the price and with its features, so I took the plunge again.If you just want to defrost and warm up this is not the microwave for you. If you want a microwave that is capable of replacing your standard oven, buy it.

The build quality is very good throughout. I particularly like the fact that the oven is a good compact size so it doesn't take up too large a footprint on my worktop. The manual is very good and pretty much tells you everything you need to know.
I would knock half a star off as you can only use the preset microwave power ratings, they can't be adjusted, so a lot of the time it is High (1000w) or Medium (600w) and no ratings option in between, 800w would be nice as most ready meals have cooking times for 800w.

Good quality & cooks very well!
As a previous reviewer has mentioned, the oven cooks some things brilliantly, much better Roast Chicken than in my main oven! The CHAOS defrost function is superb, I find food like frozen chicken breasts are defrosted without starting to actually cook them. I haven't used the grill yet so cannot comment.The build quality is very good throughout. Excellent product
We have been usng ours daily for the last 2 years and it has been fantastic It does all things well, for instance you can cook a whole large chicken to crispy perfection in under 40 minutes. We hardly ever need to use the main oven anymore so it has saved us a packet on the electric bill. It looks great and does not take up a lot of room.There are two minor negatives. a very good microwave a suitable replacement for our previous 850watt oven. It doesn't have the same power as our previous one, however for what we do with our microwave which is mainly reheating it has enough programmes for this. The autodefrost can be fiddly because you have to guess how long it takes due to the three settings which cover bread,meat pieces and meat joints,there is no manual defrost. It fits all our dishes and plates that were used in the old oven. All in all a good purchase for the price.14

Not bad for the money
Bought this microwave from Amazon and with the super saver postage still manged to receive it in two day. The microwave works well and has good settings, however when pushing the touch control buttons the oven slides on the work top. Door catches are a little flimsy and the overall feel is mediocre. In saying all that it only cost £50.00 and functions well so far.16

It is the first microwave I have used with a decent browning and crisping function. It comes with an excellent Panacrunch pan, which just looks like a round metal dish, but when you use it you can cook pizza, hash browns, quiche, pastys etc... and they always come out brown and crispy. Tonight I used it to cook Breaded Jalapino peppers, they normally take 15 mins in a conventional oven. They took just 4 mins and came out lovely and crispy!!
I would highly recommend this oven, it is by far the best microwave I have ever used.

Fast Delivery but was dissapointed
We are moving house in a couple of days so decided on getting a new Microwave for the new kitchenthe microwave seems ok we have only used the basics not de-frosted anything yet but we was dissapointed to find scratches along the front of the door not deep or anything like that but are very noticeable.if i had purchased it from town i would of sent it back but with the move only day's away we are just going to accept it.more trouble than its worth.
apart from that very pleased with it overall.
