Do not waste your money

I bought this last year (not from Amazon) and am now in the market for another mower. I have been very dissapointed with it, because it is simply not up the job of cutting grass effectively. I spend more time csraping grass out of the cutting chamber where is collects on the axle (not in the collection box!). The battery life is appalling. It is unable to cut grass more than about 50mm long. All in all it is a pretty - but quite useless machine.

A Good All-Rounder

I have purchased a new 380 to replace an older 380 that I managed to burn out after at least eight years of abuse. I think that it was trying to mow a building materials bag that finally finished it off. My garden resembles the Somme and my old Flymo took all the abuse that my garden threw at it. It had coped with bricks, bits of concrete as well as the lumps and bumps all over the garden. I have used my Flymo to cut down a lawn that had been left, on more than one occasion, for over a year. This included thistles, brambles, bindweed as well a grass that was about two feet high. I will admit that it is a heavy machine to use but that is a small price to pay for its capabilities. After use it usually got thrown back in the shed and forgotten about until it was next needed. If you are prepared to accept that it can be heavy to use (I have never tried it on a nice level lawn!) you will find this a reliable, useful mower. I would have no reservations in recommending this machine.

Flymo Mower

Purchased previous model to this, basically the same design with some fancy bits added.
Heavy, not very good on slopes, but cuts OK.

I only use it twice or three times in the year mainly to cut grass over the winter and pick up leaves / debris off the lawn in spring and autumm. Find it works well picking up leaves if pulled backwards.

Old is Gold

Sometimes in life change is not for the better and using this lawn mower is a point in case.
I am by no means a lawn mower expert but I have gone through a variety of electric mowers and some have performed better than others.
The speed, ease and cut finish with his mower is far superior to any electric mower ive used.
Chaging cutting length was as simple as, loosen two bolts flick lever tighten bolts job done.
It is an extremely light mower and easily manouverable.
A job that takes me approx 25-30 mins to do took only 10 mins.
If you have a small to medium sized garden I can without issue recommend this mower.

Worth the extra money.

I have just received this mower, it is by far the best mower I have had.
I did not think I would use the motorised option, but it really makes the job easier-especially if there is a slope.
You can also just push the mower for small areas or if you want the exercise.
The push only mower is £70 cheaper but it is worth the extra money.

I really like it!

I was a bit shocked when I saw all the 1 star reviews for this, as I've had it a year or so and am 100% pleased with it so far.

We have an average suburban sized lawn, and this mower keeps it neat and tidy with no fuss and very little effort. Once the motor is going it's really easy to move about, but the lack of wheels may make it bad for someone with a bad back/old folks when trying to move it when switched off. The grass box holds enough to do most of the lawn before having to be emptied and the cable is more than long enough.

The only down side is that if it's really dry out, as soon as the grass box fills up you get a blast of dust and grass stright up your nose! Also, you can't adjust the cutting height so if you've left your lawn to get really long you may need to cut it twice to get it to a proper level.

A word to the wise - you can get this much cheaper from high street stores.

Don't buy!!!

I brought one of these a couple of years ago to replace my original flymo of 12 years. Anyway, I know why I don't mow very often, its gets blocked all the time and the grass height cutter lever goes to level 1 all the time. You set it as a 5 for a tall cut, swith it on move, and then it drops to 1 !!
