Not suitable for practical use

Although this jug looks and feels gorgeous, I was highly disappointed when I first used the jug. I'd made a pint of gravy up and thought i'd just put this jug on the table instead of a gravy boat. I tipped it slowly and the gravy just came out of the tip and run straight down the outside of the jug, missing the plate and covering the table!! The jug is just too thick for a proper functioning jug. Buy for cosmetic purposes by all means but not for everyday use.

Good size display, but too quiet

I would not recommend this timer unless you specifically need the flashing-lights warning. The timer is billed as being for the"hard of hearing", so I bought it expecting the alarm to be very loud - but it isn't. My hearing is fine but I wanted a timer that I could use in the kitchen and still hear while I was upstairs: you are lucky if you can hear this one in the next room!

Other downsides are the membrane buttons that are hard to press - you really need to use both hands to operate them: one to hold the timer, and the other to press the button. The timer is also very light and slides around the worktop when you are trying to use it. In order to get the timer to sit upright as in the pictures it has a flimsy metal loop that acts as a stand - not very impressive.

On the plus side, the display is big and quite easy to read and the timer remembers the last time entered. It also acts as both a count-up and count-down timer.

Perfect for dieters and general kitchen work

So many kitchen scales these days tend to go up to 5kg, without the precision you need for weighing small quantities - something that's particularly useful when you're trying to stick to a controlled diet. With 1g granulation, the Salter 2010 is perfect for these measurements, as well as looking rather good. When not in use, the base fits neatly into the lid, for easy storage.

Look great and work a treat

Really like these scales, so glad a bought them. They seem to be very accurate from what I can tell and I loved the brushed stainless look. Very happy with my purchase.
