Good value

Those cards use to cost an arm and a leg but nowadays the 4Gb is probably the best value per GB. This had worked flawlessly since around a year through a few full capacity. One can notice the speed difference with a generic card (even Sandisk) in nparticular when shooting in burst.

Feeling a bit ripped off

This devices comes with 'Carryiteasy' encryption software preloaded onto the stick (CoSosys's software).

Plugged device into USB port. First impression OK (so far so good), so in order to get going, I started the software - only to be confronted with the 30 day trial or buy option costing £15. Clicked 'later' to trial package to take a look around to see whats was on offer. - To be honest, wasnt impressed with the software and there are better 'FREE' programmes out there. Therefore, decided to format stick into NTFS and start from stratch (why not? the sticks mine!)

BIG MISTAKE - after format, the stick is now only 8mb in size, and having read some of the previous reviews here (and internest advice), decided to re-installed the 'Carryiteasy' software back onto the stick. This done, the stick is still only 8mb in size and the reinstalled 'Carryiteasy' only recognises the stick as 8mb - not happy.

If I had trialled for 30 days, would I have been committed to buy the software? (partition installed) as formatting's not an option. Surely I'm the one who should decided what is software is on my stick and not some 3rd party. (was no metion of this when i bought it)

Anyway - probably end up wasting a few more hours on it before the product either gets flushed down the toilet or returned.

Arrived quickly, works fine

I ordered from flash_memory two days ago, it arrived this morning and so far it's working great. They charge a lot for shipping (five pounds for a little memory card!), but if you add this to the price of the card, you still get a better price than you would in a store.

postage

To get charged seperate postage for 2 cf cards is really shocking especially when it only cost £2.17p to post to me,i will think twice about shopping here now.

Compare and Contrast

I should have take notice of the review below - I ordered the card today from onlinememory.co.uk specifically because the site said it was in stock. Checking the progress of the order, it has amazingly become"Out of Stock". Sharp practice or genuine mistake? Hard to say, because as with the previous poster, there is no answer on any of their numbers.

I have emailed them cancelling the order, and am told to allow 48 hours for an answer. We will see.

Update - I ordered another card through Quigleys (via Amazon) and guess what - it arrived this morning (20th) even though the expected delivery date was given as 22nd-25th Sep. Superb service. And of course, no reply from onlinememory yet. Moral - buy from the Amazon reseller as so many people have said.

I realise it was unfair to give the card one star previously when I was rating the service of someone who was not even an Amazon seller, sorry about that, and I can't change the star rating when editing the review it seems. And I can't post another review, only one allowed.

U3 works -just know what you're buying

Just look up on the web U3+user=moron to find all the people who don't understand U3. It's a great technology, all you have to do is comprehend it!

If you don't want it, buy a drive that doesn't have it. The Sandisk website even tells you how to remove the U3 features for those retards who don't like it.

Down-rating a product because you're too stupid to understand it is not helpful. Sandisk products rock! (no I don't work for the company).

Small, elegant and brilliant

I needed a flash drive and this little thing looked and sounded the business. Bought the one with 4GB and must say that it really is fantastic. I have all my personal files backed up on it using the synch manager - which by the way could not be easier to use even if they tried. It really is portable and compatible with any computer. Went to visit a prospective new client. I got the contract and needed some files which they had (approx 1GB). The guy suggested e-mailing them to me but since I had this little gizmo on my keyring I just pluged it in and got the files. Job done and everyone saved time. I can tell you the guy was really impressed!
I now have a philips DVDR which has a USB port. Wanna watch a movie tonight. Just download a movie file, copy on to the flash drive and plug it in to my Philips and I'm sorted.

Fantastic little device. I have so much personal and business data on it and I can still add a movie. Personal data is encypted and safe. Best investment I bought this year!

Broken

Worked great for a while and then for no reason, it died. Now it cannot be read by any computer. Maybe thats why it is cheap.

Unacceptable really. Would not recommend.

A Great Card

Having used and owned Ultra 2 and Extreme 3 cards I feel I can give a decent comparison of the two. The Ultra 2 card, quality wise is exactly the same as the Extreme 3. There is a speed difference in writing data in which the Extreme 3 wins hands down, but unless your camera utilises hyperspeed writing, this difference is wasted. I highly recommend this card to everyone as it's cheap and very reliable, 2GB of space is enough for most and for value for money this card excels.

Excellent flash drive

Easily the best flash drive I've ever used - durable, lightweight, very fast for file transfers and the U3 software is perfect for me when I'm moving between home, the office and client sites. I can synchronise all the files I need and have them available wherever I go, fully encrypted and safe. It even lets you run Firefox from the drive and leave no trace of it on the PC! If it's not for you, it's easy to remove and free up the additional space. Can't speak highly enough about this - one of the best purchases I've made in ages.

Not a bad product

Its small and light and the transfer speeds are decent.
On the downside it feels cheap and plasticky and the lid is quite loose.

No Speed Issues Here

I have seen no speed issues between my Kingston Data Traveler 1GB and 4GB pens. Perhaps his 1GB pens are of a higher spec as Kingston supply a whole range of USB drives.

The 4GB is now exceptional value for money and I highly recommend it.

Great item for your Sony PSP

Superb item and works very well on my PSP.
Bought from 'flash_memory' who delivered days before the expected time. I will order again from this company. Very good service indeed.
A week on and the Amazon part of the same order is late.... Maybe the Amazon could learn a bit from these guys !

Cruzer 8gig - super fast

I am amazed how fast this usb pen is.. it's x3 times as fast as my Datatraveller.. and with 8Gig of space it will cover my needs for a good year or 2.
The Cruzer has a good mechanism for producing the usb plug and the styling in very sexy indeed.
The underside is metal but the black uppersetion is plastic. When you have to manipulate it to pull out the usb it does feel a little fragile, as if you press too hard it would move slightly inwards. But don't let this put you off.. it's a fantastic usb pen and its speed alone shoud make you buy it.
I haven't even mentioned U3 which can come in very handy.
If you don't like U3 you can remove it if you wish, just check out the U3 site.
On a side note it is about 7cm in length (with the usb section hidden) so slightly longer that the Kingston Data traveller.

Great product

As with all Freecom products I have had in the past this is equally as good. A great robust design, and the top fits securely. Freecom are always reliable and I know a USB stick is a USB stick but you cant go wrong with this product. - 5star

Great product

This is a real bargain. It's about half the size of my current 512Mb pen drive so I can actually attach this to my already crowded keyring. The casing is also nice to the touch. This is a great product from a reputable manufacturer and well worth the money.

Memory Stick

If you have got a psp and like to listen to music and watch ,movies then this is a must have. Can store 2 movies and lots of songs. Really expensive but well worth it. It’s the fastest and biggest.
