Ideal for RAW photography

I used to think that memory cards of this size were just a gimmick. After all who needs that much storage space. I use a mid-range DSLR camera and with my 1Gb SD cards I am able to capture around fifty images (JPEG format), which was more than enough for me. However I recently made the transaction from shooting in JPEGS to shooting in RAW (a more flexible file type giving you more control over images in the digital dark room). And while I feel that shooting in RAW is better and helps produce fantastic photographs, the images are larger, much larger. In fact my fifty images per memory card quickly plummeted to an embarrassing twelfth per card.

So, hence I was in the market for some beefier memory cards. I had used Sandisk plenty of times in the past and was always please with the result. Therefore I purchase two of these 8Gb cards and after shooting a few dozen images all I can say is wow!

Firstly each card can hold a massive ninety RAW photos (this will differ depending on what camera you own, it's megapixels and quality settings.) But it's more than just the capacity that's got me excited. People told me in the past that shooting in RAW seriously slows down your shooting, but to tell you the truth I haven't noticed a major difference. The cards look professional and come with decent recovery software, carry case and reader. It's also good to know that they also come with a ten year gunantee. Theres nothing worse than loosing photos because of a faulty memory card, but I doubt that anyone would have that problem with these SanDisk cards. Additionally I've read that they are shock and water resistant, so they are not going to let you down.

So, in conclusion. I couldn't be happier with my new memory cards. Sandisk is the way to go, especially when there cards are such good value for money (oh and no I don't work for Sandisk). Just make sure that your camera or other device supports SDHC (high capacity) and like me, once you go RAW you'll never go back.

Sony 8GB Memory Stick

I bought this item for £52.90, and i must say it let me down, on receiving the item i immediately used it on my computer, to discover that it was a 8GB card, it was a 4GB, but all of the packaging stated that the product was a 8GB card, this confused me, so i looked closer and notice that there was another piece of plastic stuck over the writing on the memory card itself, my thoughts were that this was a 4GB memory card which looked like a 8GB one, i contacted amazon and they have yet to reply to me, i have used amazon for some time now but this is the first time they have let me down, even though it may be the manufactorers fault, amazon should check that the products they put on sale are genuine and not faulty.

The card is fine when it works, but bad when it doesnt.

I use the card in my PSP (slim and lite) it was fine for a few weeks and then the psp couldnt carry out its game saves. The card is now corrupted, no clue as to how this has happened (used psp and memory stick how they are supposed to be ie don't mess with the card when it is being read).
Am now trying to get refund or replacement from sandisk.
Bought a new sony branded card and it works fine.
Hope this helps, think just down to your luck really, as I have a 1gb sandisk card in sony camera and its been fine for 2 years.

just what I wanted

With 5 stars from the previous reviews it was a must buy. My reason for buying this device was to transfer selected photo images onto an SD card to display on our TV set, which has an SD card slot. It's simply a case of drag and drop the selected photos to the blank card and they play on the TV.

My only criticism is there is no mention of how to write to a card in the instructions, which accompanied the device.

As an aside Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 is great software with an excellent tutorial.

Bytestor Vista Compatability

The bytestor 8GB USB flash drive worked well on any Windows xp machine that I tried but it would not work with a Windows Vista Dell Vostro 1700 Laptop, the only Windows Vista machine that I have tried. 3 similar products worked OK with the Dell Vista laptop. Apart from an initial auto email reply I have heard nothing from bytestor support after a week of waiting. I reluctantly returned the device to Amazon for a refund.

So - just to let you know - ordered over the weekend, arrived tuesday morning, well packed, original fuji card in packaging and works well in camera - though have to agree with others it is a little slower than the 1gb - but i only really noticed because I was looking!

Excellent service with good information to contact if any problems. Would recommend and use again.

Brilliant!

I was so impressed with this memory card, it seems to store so much and is so cheap! I usually buy Sandisk memory cards now because I know I can trust them. I've bought 3 so far and none of them have ever gone wrong. They also come with a little case to keep them safe which is handy.

So so cool

Very pleased with this device. The speed is great (~8MB/s with the SD card I got) and what I didn't realise before it arrived was that it has three different memory slots that can be used at the same time. So, three drive letters get mapped in Windows for SD, Mini SD and Micro SD.

A great little device.

don't bother buying it

I bought this flash drive a few months ago. Its U3 technology doesn't work in all computers and sometimes crashes it (the computer freezes). I tried doing research on the Internet and could find many people having trouble with it. The computers either don't recognize it or don't work properly with this flash drive. Then I decided to uninstall and format it ... but I am still having problem with it.... I saved 3 gb of video in it at office. When i came back home, I couldn't find what I saved...

Excellent Product

I lost my 2GB card and after I upgraded my Xda Exec to Windows Mobile 6 I decided to buy this one. works like a dream and gives the kind of bandwidth I never had. The best thing is that you can simply use the adapter and plug it into a USB port, simply great to trasfer music quickly.

Item itself is worth 5 stars

I've owned this Sandisk MicroSD 2GB with 3-in-one adaptor for a few months now, and it makes such a difference to my phone! I've only tried one of the adaptors (the larger one that slots into the SD card slot of my laptop) and it works perfectly every time i.e. plug-and-play so it loads up as an extra 'drive' in 'My computer'.

I've not had any problems with the card and did not need to format it before I used it.

p/s: I did pay more for the postage than the actual item itself, but the item is worth it and deserves 5 star!
